Chapter 24: Capture or Kill (1)
Ivan was obviously pleased with our attitude, and he smiled: "I can come to you, of course, not too far from here." He said as he opened the bag he was carrying, took out a few photos from the bag, and handed them to us, "This is a preparation point for a recent photo, let's say a week ago." And the location of the shooting is not far from here, on the border of Austria and Hungary. β
I took the photo and looked at it, and it showed a slightly younger man than the old guy, wearing a pair of glasses, a hat on his head, a very kind face, walking leisurely on the road, as if he were a local.
"What's this man's name?" I asked.
"Samedov. This man's name is Samedov, and Younis should have mentioned it when he interrogated Kutcher before. Ivan said.
When Ivan reminded me of this, I grabbed Kutcher and brought it back to the old guy for interrogation, who was quite stubborn at first, and didn't know anyone except he admitted that he knew Ogil, including this guy named Samedov, and that's when the old guy said that name.
"How did you get this picture? Someone found him? Semolov asked.
"Of course. The search for this guy's whereabouts has been ongoing. It started from the day he ran away. Ivan replied.
"I know that. After Semolov and I ran out that day, we arrived at the restaurant, and the old guy told us. But I remember that Kutcher didn't say that this man would go to Germany? Didn't Kutcher tell the truth at the time? β
"Kutcher wasn't lying." Ivan shook his head, "We all felt the same way when we went to Germany. But doesn't that mean Germany is not a good place to go? β
"So you took refuge in the country on the edge of Germany? He looks pretty good this way. Semolov said.
Ivan smiled and snorted coldly, "Of course." How could a man like him be downcast? Even the German Nazis, who fled like lost their dogs, also had a lot of good days. β
"Now that someone has photographed him. Why not do it? Is there someone around this guy to protect him? I asked.
"That's a good point." Ivan nodded, "He didn't know what the consequences would be if he did those things." Protection is certain. As he spoke, he pulled out a few more photos and handed them to us.
Semolov and I looked at each of these photos, and there were several people in each of these pictures. Ivan spoke: "These people often follow this guy's side. It should be in charge of keeping him safe. β
"Just these few people?" I said and counted, "There are only four of them." β
"Of course not." Ivan shook his head and pulled out some photos again, "This is his residence. Residence in Austria. It is a villa with a single courtyard in Danmen. β
I glanced at the villa in the photo and said, "Hehe. This feeling reminds me of where Ogier lives. Do Ukrainians like this tune? β
Ivan smiled and pointed to the house in the photo, "Ogier's should be bigger than this, right?" Samedov is not so extravagant. And the yard is more useful here to defend the house, and there are guards in the courtyard walls. β
I looked closely at the photos and could indeed see a few blurry figures at the fence of the courtyard wall. "Are these people hired by this guy? It can't be someone he took from the Security Service of Ukraine, right? β
"It's not just hired. And the Americans in it. The gang had been provided to him by the Americans, and there was a local person in charge of his security and liaison. However, the man's photograph has not yet been taken. Ivan said.
"So how many people do they estimate?" Semolov asked.
"At the moment there are ten
Two people. The four you see are just four people who follow him all the time. Ivan said.
"Twelve people, these twelve people should be all good players, right? This seems to mean to avoid the limelight for a while and then use it greatly. How did you leave this to us? Didn't it say at that time that Russia was after him? I asked.
Ivan nodded, "You're right. According to our estimates, this person is likely to be in charge of work on Ukraine and the countries bordering Russia to the west. β
"Isn't that just the right professional match? Then the Russian side should be even more anxious and kill him as soon as possible. β
But who did he do it again? And why did you escape? Ivan shook his head.
I heard him say this, I understand, this is the seventeenth game to do your own revenge. This must be what the old guy Eunice meant, hehe. With his grudge-holding personality, it's normal that he can't wait to take revenge and do it himself.
"And..." Ivan, seeing me and Semolov in understanding, continued: "And... And most importantly, there aren't enough people here to do this. I mean, the Russian side didn't have the right people to do it for a while. So it naturally came to us. β
"Haha." I smiled and said, "I don't think it's good to hear something like that. What is an incompetent human hand? I guess it's going to be a lot of fun. β
"Yes." Semolov looked at me and said, "I don't think this place will be just a twelve-man guard. And the person in charge of security and liaison you mentioned can't just command these people, I think there are a group of spies and other people in the local area. β
"You're right. In addition to what you've said, we know so far that this man has a squad in the shadows. The exact number of people is not yet known, and we are currently making every effort to find out the news. Ivan said and took out the information, "Samedov, his current name is Vastic, his identity has now changed to an Austrian businessman, this guy is quite professional, and he is said to speak German very authentically. β
"I guess he used to work in this area. Didn't the old guy tell Kutcher the story? I said.
"Haha. Gypsy, you're getting better. Yes, Samedov, also known as Vastich, will be called Vastich in the future, and he used to work with Zakayev in Austria and Hungary. According to Zakaev, VastiΔ could speak not only German, but also several spoken languages with regional accents, and he had no problem becoming an Austrian. β
"And when are we leaving?" Semolov asked.
Ivan waved his hand and said, "No hurry." We're going to wait for someone. We can't do this operation alone. We'll wait until the one who cooperated with us arrives. β
"What about him and Rebic? Waiting here together? I asked.
"Nope. Berezov and Rebich will leave today. Ivan said and looked at Berezov, "Go back to Ukraine." And then you guys will go to Russia with the old guys. β
