Chapter 100: Worship Yan Huang
King Yingzheng of Qin worshiped Yan Huang, just to unify the six eastern countries like Yan Huang.
The birthplace of the Yellow Emperor has always been disputed, and the "Historical Records of the Five Emperors" recorded: "The Yellow Emperor, the son of Shaodian, surnamed Gongsun, named Xuanyuan, the Yellow Emperor lives in Xuanyuan Hill." As for the specific place of birth, there is no unified view in the historiographical circles. It is generally believed that there are four kinds of disputes: Xinzheng in Henan, Jishui in Shaanxi, Tianshui in Gansu, and Shouqiu in Shandong. Xuanyuan Hill, the history of the birth of the Yellow Emperor and the place where the capital was built, so because of the name, but also the number. "Da Dai Li Imperial Line" said: "The Yellow Emperor lives in Xuanyuan Hill, marries the son of the Xiling clan, and is called the ancestor family, producing Qingyang and Changyi. The land of Xuanyuan Hill is in the area of Xinzheng City, Henan, that is, on the high platform at the intersection of the Yellow Water River (ancient Qinshui) and the Shuangye River (ancient Weishui), with an area of about 30 square kilometers, its landform has Malinggang in the east, Shuanglinggang in the west, Huanggang in the south, Pei Ligang in the north, and the middle is like a basin.
Time advanced to 5,000 years ago, the last Yan Emperor Jiang Yugang had a great battle with the Chiyou tribe that went west, and Emperor Yan was defeated.
However, it is said that Chiyou is the leader of the Jiuyi tribe in ancient times, and after Taihao, the Chiyou tribe gradually integrated the Shandong Peninsula. According to legend, Chiyou has "copper head and iron forehead" and "beast body and human language", and has eighty-one brothers.
According to research, the Chiyou tribe "used gold as a weapon" and was the earliest inventor of metal smelting, and they molded the metal sheet slightly and wore it on the head and chest to resist the impact, which should be the earliest armor, and the so-called "copper head and iron forehead" came from this. "Beast Language" means that they dress strangely, like wild beasts. As for the many brothers, the Chiyou tribe is prosperous, and the small clan tribe is like a starry sky.
If you study it carefully, the "Chi" is also a snake, and the "You" is "Many", which means that there are so many snakes! For the people of the Central Plains, the Chiyou tribe, which is strong and well-armed, is undoubtedly a disaster of wild pythons, which is so terrible. And its original name is no longer mentioned.
The defeated Jiang Yu was very depressed and began to levy and extort against the subjugating tribes, in order to regroup and fight Chiyou again. Soon, the chiefs of the small tribes couldn't bear it, and the big chiefs used to serve the people, how could they do this? They set their sights on the bear tribe in southern Jinnan.
At this time, the Bear tribe was no longer what it used to be, and their current chief was a brilliant man, and he heard that he had invented the wheel. Threading two wheels with an axle, putting a wooden board on it, and calling a car, this thing is amazing, and it can be easily carried away. It is said that the wolf, bear, tiger, leopard, eagle, eagle, pixiu and other tribes under the bear tribe have used oxen and horses as power to carry soldiers for war. Because of the invention of the car, the tribesmen gave the chief a great name: Xuanyuan. In addition to this, Chief Xuanyuan also hollowed out the trees and invented a boat that could sail on the river. He also taught everyone to build a strong house out of earth and wood, so that they would no longer suffer from wind and rain.
Chief Xuanyuan's ministers are also wise. His concubine and ancestor raised silkworms and made comfortable and beautiful silk clothes. Cangjie invented writing, and we are still passing it on by word of mouth, and people can already record history. Ling Lun invented the bamboo flute, stone chime, and pottery drum, and compiled a multi-part music. Wielding the bow and Mu Yi inventing the arrow, greatly improved the combat capability of the army.
Today, their influence extends from the Mongolian Plateau in the north, the North China Plain to the Liaoxi in the east, and the Central Plains in the south
The area far exceeded the sphere of influence of the Yandi Shennong tribe and the Fuxi King back then. The people of the tribe have secretly called him "Yellow Emperor", it is said that because they come from the Loess Plateau, step on the yellow earth, drink the water of the Yellow River, and they worship the color yellow.
The small tribe frowned at the Xuanyuan clan, Jiang Yu knew that he was so angry that he used all his family resources to kill Youxiong, and he could not tolerate the fall of hegemony. In Hanquan (the specific address is unknown, the most reliable location is said to be in the south of Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province), Ji Xuanyuan calmly lined up, and he knew very well in his heart that sooner or later there would be such a day.
The battle situation was not complicated, Ji Xuanyuan's mobile troops were tantamount to divine soldiers descending from the sky, and the depressed Jiang Yugang was defeated and fled again. Ji Xuanyuan no longer gave him a chance, led his troops across the Yellow River, and surrounded the base camp of the Lieshan tribe. Under the attack of the little chiefs who were in favor of the yang and the yin, Jiang Yu lowered his noble head. Before relinquishing hegemony, he only put forward one condition: to eliminate Chiyou. Ji Xuanyuan looked up to the sky and roared, as the new overlord, it was his duty to give the tribe a stable environment.
The Yellow Emperor and the Yandi Department merged into a tribal alliance, and since then the Chinese have a resounding name: the descendants of Yan and Huang.
For Ji Xuanyuan as the overlord, there are still some small tribes under the Yandi Shennong Department who are not convinced, such as the Kuafu Department, the Xingtian Department, the Gonggong Department, etc.
The story of Kuafu's day-to-day pursuit comes from "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: Overseas Northern Classic", which says that the leader of the Kuafu tribe was strong and wanted to catch up with the sun, so he ran all the way to the sun. Soon, he was thirsty, and he drank the water of the Yellow River and the Wei River without quenching his thirst, and was about to go to Daze in the north to drink water, but he died of thirst before he arrived. Through the fog of mythology, we say that the Kuafu tribe is the hardcore of Emperor Yan, so it will continue day by day, and "day" represents Emperor Yan. When the Yellow Emperor conquered Kuafu, the war was very tragic, and the Kuafu clan dug up the water of the Yellow River and the Wei River to submerge the Yellow Emperor tribe, which gave rise to the legend that Kuafu drank the water of the Yellow River and the Wei River. In the end, the Kuabu tribe still failed, and was driven by the Yellow Emperor to the northern Mongolian plateau.
The Yellow Emperor cut off Xingtian's head, and he used his milk as his eyes and his navel as his mouth, and he still fought with the Yellow Emperor. Tao Yuanming has a poem that says: Xingtian Dance is dry, and fierce ambition is always there. The meaning of Xingtian is to fight with the sky, and it can be seen that the Xingtian tribe is the same as the Kuafu tribe, and it is also the royalist faction of Emperor Yan.
The Gonggong clan should be a clan that moved to the north with the Shennong tribe, they came from the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions where rice farming was developed, and they were masters of playing with water, and Gonggong was once respected as the "god of water" by later generations. The Gonggong tribe should not have been exterminated, and in the Zhuan era, the Gonggong Department also fought with it in Buzhou Mountain.
The losers were driven to the bitter cold of the northwest, where they mixed with the local natives and became the ancestors of the Rongdi tribes such as the Qiang.
Well, the opposition was eliminated one by one, the dragon flag of the Yanhuang Alliance was flying high, and now the world has changed from the Three Kingdoms to the Huayi dispute. The Yellow Emperor moved the capital of the alliance to Xuanyuan Hill, which is today's Xinzheng, which is located in the hinterland of the Central Plains and is closer to the Dongyi Chiyou tribe.
A big war is inevitable.
Thousands of years ago, in the Yellow River and Yangtze River basins of China, there were many clans and tribes, among which was a Jiuli tribe, whose leader was named Chiyou.
Legend has it that Chiyou has eight legs, not only three heads and six arms, but also invulnerable, Chiyou is also good at making weapons, and he has eighty-one brothers, everyone
They are all copper heads and iron foreheads, and all of them are extraordinary. Chi You had fought with Emperor Yan and defeated Emperor Yan, Emperor Yan asked the Yellow Emperor for help, and the Yellow Emperor had long wanted to conquer the Jiuli tribe, so Emperor Yan and the Yellow Emperor united to fight Chi You, and Chi You also led his eighty-one brothers to raise troops to fight the Yellow Emperor for the world, and the two sides launched a fierce battle in Zhuolu.
According to the record in the "Historical Records of the Five Emperors": "Chi You made a mess, and there was no need for the emperor's order, so the Yellow Emperor was a conquest of the princes, and Chi You fought in the field of Zhuolu."
At the beginning of this war, Chiyou and his eighty-one brothers, with their well-made knives, bows and crossbows and other weapons, coupled with the charge of the Jiuli warriors, Chiyou defeated the combined forces of the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor. And Chi You is even more invincible because of his invincibility, so he left a reputation of "copper head and iron forehead" and "megatron world".
Legend has it that Chiyou is very powerful, and in "Narrative Differences": Chiyou is "an iron-eating stone, a human body with cow hooves, four eyes and six hands, ears and sideburns like a sword halberd, and a head with horns".
Chi You's weapon is a sword, an ancient divine weapon with boundless mana, which is called Chi You Sword by later generations, not only Emperor Yan is not Chi You's opponent, but the Yellow Emperor is also willing to bow down. The Yellow Emperor and Chi You's "Zhuolu War" can be described as protracted, the ancient books say that the Yellow Emperor and the Yan Emperor's alliance is "nine battles and nine wins", "three years of the city can not be down", and finally the Yellow Emperor had to pray for the help of the Nine Heavens Xuannu to finally defeat Chi You.
Regarding the famous "Zhuolu War" in history, although there are slight differences in various legends, there is no doubt that Chiyou and the Yellow Emperor once fought, and the scene and process of the war are also magnificent.
"The Classic of Mountains and Seas: The Great Wilderness of the North" recounts a legend, "There are people dressed in green clothes, and their names are called the Yellow Emperor's Nulu." Chi You made a soldier to attack the Yellow Emperor, and the Yellow Emperor was ordered to respond to the dragon's attack on the wilderness of Jizhou. In response to the dragon and animal water, Chi You invited the wind and rain master to indulge in the wind and rain. The Yellow Emperor was the goddess of heaven, and the rain stopped, so he killed Chiyou. There shall be no rain in the rebirth, and there shall be no rain in the dwelling." It is not difficult to see the thrilling nature of this war, and of course, some people believe that the "Zhuolu War" that took place in ancient times was at best a weapon fight between the villagers of No. 180.
After many battles in which even the gods participated in the battle, the Yellow Emperor successively killed eighty-one of Chi You's brothers, and finally captured Chi You alive.
The Yellow Emperor ordered Chi You to be shackled first, and then executed him, because he was afraid that Chi You would still be in turmoil after his death, the Yellow Emperor dismembered him and buried his head and body in several places very far away. It is said that the shackles worn by Chiyou turned into a maple forest after being thrown on the barren mountain, and every blood-red maple leaf was stained with blood by Chiyou.
Chiyou was a great historical figure of the Yellow Emperor's time, however, for thousands of years, Chiyou's great image and status have been seriously distorted and degraded.
Chiyou has become a negative image in the Confucian classics, among which Chiyou's "Chi" is a derogatory term, "Chi" is "worm", and "Six Books of Truth and Falsehood" says: "All those who are ignorant are the names of Chi". According to legend, "after Chi You did not die, the world was disturbed, and the Yellow Emperor painted the image of Chi You to threaten the world, and the world said that Chi You did not die, and all the countries in all directions were subdued."
Chiyou was killed by the Yellow Emperor and dismembered. However, what is puzzling is that later the Yellow Emperor actually respected the "master of soldiers", that is, the god of war, and painted his image on the military flag.
