Chapter 1: Carl's Left Eye

When a person sees something with only one eye, the brain subconsciously ignores it.

And when Carl saw the numbers in the mirror and focused on his left eye, for an instant, the countless jumping numbers almost overwhelmed his vision.

In his field of vision, everything he saw was covered with a series of numbers, the floor, the curtains, and even the surface of the lines between his fingers.

Some are so small that they are almost undecipherable, while others are about the same size as the numbers you see when you read them.

These numbers are not labeled, just numbers, with no uniform unit, not even a separator.

Some Karls were quick to recognize their meanings, as they had seen in the mirror, but many more had no way of knowing what they meant.

Not only that, some numbers are fixed, some are changing rapidly, and some are even jumping back and forth, like countless crawling insects, densely packed and covering the entire field of vision.

Carl couldn't look any further, he would instinctively analyze the meaning of the numbers, and after a moment of such a dense number in front of his eyes, he felt a little sick and wanted to vomit.

"What's wrong, dear, isn't it feeling well?" asked Louise with concern.

She noticed that Carl's face was a little ugly.

Carl shook his head at Louise, he didn't want Louise to worry about him.

At the moment, it wasn't good or bad, and he had to ask Dumbledore for many details.

"Professor, you said you sealed a wisp of soul in my eyes, can you tell me how you did that?"

Karl looked at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore shook his head, "Carl, you can't explain the soul in a few words......"

Almost at the same time, Dumbledore realized something and jerked into Karl's left eye.

"Is there something wrong with your eyes?"

As he spoke, Dumbledore's blue eyes couldn't help but bring a hint of worry.

Hearing this, Nick and Louise next to him were even more shocked.

Louise's voice trembled a little, "Honey, you....... Can't you see clearly?"

Karl shook his head again, sighed, and opened his mouth to explain.

He only spoke a few words in a short time, and in fact, he couldn't say more, and as a client, he didn't know

Much more than the others, he can only tell what happened in his eyes.

When he finished the last word, the three people present were more or less relieved, but the worry on Nick and Louise's faces did not completely subside.

"Professor Dumbledore, is it normal for Carl to be like this?" asked Nick, looking at Dumbledore.

Dumbledore didn't look at him, but poked his head out to take a closer look at Karl's eyes, almost touching his face to Karl's nose.

Carl almost forced himself not to tilt his head back.

In the middle of the night, the old man retracted his head.

"Carl, if you can lie down......"

As he spoke, he drew his wand.

Seeing this, Nick and Louise immediately went around to the other side of the bed and helped Carl to lie down.

Lying flat on the bed, Carl looked at Dumbledore to see what the old man was going to do to him.

Dumbledore was seen sitting on his side on the hospital bed, holding his wand in his right hand, and placing the tip of the wand less than a centimeter away from Karl's left eye.

As with the other objects, Carl saw a large string of numbers on his wand.

He could barely make out a few sporadic values such as length, top, end, diameter, and another, Carl wasn't sure about, maybe weight, but more was completely confused.

He stopped thinking about it and focused on Dumbledore.

The old man pointed his wand in his eyes, and the words were in his mouth.

Soon, Carl felt something get into his eyes, a little cold, but not uncomfortable.

After a while, Dumbledore put away his wand, and the chill in Karl's eyes disappeared.

Carl noticed that Dumbledore frowned.

Apparently, Nick and Louise also found out about this.

"Is there anything wrong with Carl's eyes, Professor Dumbledore?" asked Nick worriedly.

Dumbledore glanced at him and shook his head, "The seal is pretty strong, but ......"

Dumbledore turned his gaze to Karl.

"Carl, don't you want to know how I sealed that soul, I can tell you ......"

Karl quickly sat up on the bed.

Dumbledore didn't speak immediately, but looked at Nick and Louise with a hint of apology.

"Let's get out. ”

The two stood up, took a few steps to the door, and then turned back.

"Carl, you have to listen to Professor Dumbledore. We were right outside the house and could call us whenever something happened. ”

After speaking, he walked out of the door with some hesitation.

There was a "bang", and the room suddenly fell silent.

Dumbledore withdrew his gaze from the door.

"Carl, your eyes...... I thought my magic was enough, but it looks like I'm overestimating myself......"

Dumbledore sighed.

"It was an emergency, I don't know how you managed to suck a almost intact soul into your body......"

"I'm not blaming you Carl, I looked at the corpse, it didn't look like a human being. ”

"But Carl, it is extremely dangerous to contain two souls in the same body, and it is even very likely that there will be an anti-guest situation, I was terrified, and immediately sealed that soul in your eyes with magic, and it turned out that my choice was quite wise......"

"But, like I just said, I'm overestimating myself. ”

"Professor?"

Karl looked at Dumbledore suspiciously, he didn't understand what the old man was trying to say.

Dumbledore waved his hand, "You'll figure it out soon." ”

As he spoke, Dumbledore asked.

"Carl, you've probably read the book "Secret Secrets of Cutting-Edge Dark Magic" that Tom gave you several times, right?"

Carl nodded, he had read the book many times, the book was full of blood, killing and so on, except for some advanced black magic theories, many of the magic recorded in the book were very cruel, for this part, he had always been insensitive to it.

Seeing Karl nod, Dumbledore continued, "Then you should know that it is almost impossible to imprison a soul, except for one method......"

"Let this soul be completely integrated with the container that contains it, so that the soul can stay in the container forever, unless the original owner of the soul voluntarily releases the soul ......"

"Horcruxes. ”

Karl whispered, he understood what Dumbledore was trying to say.

Dumbledore nodded, "Yes, Horcruxesβ€”"

"I used the soul that invaded your eye, using your left eye as a container, to make a Horcrux. ”

"But, looking at it now, this Horcrux is not complete......"
