Chapter 3: The First Day
Harry was stunned by the food in front of him, he had never eaten such a hearty meal in his life.
Pulling a little bit of the same from the plate, Harry began to munch.
But before he could eat much, he was startled by a ghost that emerged from under the table.
Ron called out the ghost's name, Nick, who was almost headless.
As the feast continued, the young wizards quickly became acquainted with each other, and everyone began to talk loudly about their families.
Harry heard Seamus and Neville, a boy with pale brown hair and a chubby little round-faced boy, the former mixed race and the latter pure-blood.
Looking at Naham, Harry couldn't help but think of what Hagrid had told him earlier in Diagon Alley - many pure-blood wizards couldn't come to Hogwarts before they came to Muggle origins.
Harry immediately remembered Hermione, on the other side of the table, who was discussing Hogwarts homework with Percy.
"I wish it was straightforward! there's so much to learn, and I'm particularly interested in Transfiguration. You know, turning one thing into another, of course, should be very difficult-" Hermione said with a worried look on her face.
Percy shook her head, "It won't be difficult at first, you should start with small things, like turning matches into needles or something—when it comes to transfiguration, you can ask Karl, Professor McGonagall said that Cal's transfiguration talent even amazed her, and I couldn't agree more, you see, the one sitting over there." ”
Carl, yes, Carl!
Harry immediately remembered the boy he had seen in Diagon Alley.
He looked in the direction Percy was pointing, and sure enough, next to George and Fred, Carl was sitting there eating.
It's like there's an invisible wall, and even though he's next to the hilarious Weasley twins, Carl himself is still very quiet, and everything around him seems to have nothing to do with him.
"See! I'll just say he's weird," Ron said, grabbing a chicken leg.
......
The banquet ended, in the midst of George and Fred's lamentations.
Dumbledore wasn't there, and Professor McGonagall didn't let everyone sing the school song.
In the words of the two, this prevented their singing talents from being displayed.
It was night, and it was quiet in the dormitory, and several roommates had fallen asleep, except for Carl, who was lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
He was happy to be back at Hogwarts again.
But other than that, nothing made him happy.
Since entering the wizarding world, he has become more and more deeply aware that he is a participant in this world, and everything that happens around him is closely related to him, and there is no possibility at all if he wants to stay out of it.
Then let the storm come harder!
With this in mind, Carl fell asleep.
In the dream, he seemed to see an old man with a white beard, staring at him with loving eyes.
The old man's face was getting closer and closer to him, and when he was about to put it on, Karl was so frightened that he sat up from the bed.
Looking out the window, it was already dawn.
......
Today was September 2, 1991, and Harry's first morning at Hogwarts.
He woke up early in the morning, called up Ron, who was still asleep, and prepared to start the first day of classes with great anticipation.
But when they arrived at the Gryffindor common room, they found that there was no one in the common room because they had woken up so early.
"Harry, we're up too early!" Ron grumbled sleepily.
"I'm sorry, Ron. Harry said apologetically.
To be honest, it was the first time he had gotten up so early, but he hadn't slept very well last night.
He dreamed of Professor Quirrell, Snape, Malfoy, and Carl in succession.
Professor Quirrell's scarf kept babbling at him, telling him that he should go to Slytherin at once, for it was meant to be.
Harry told the scarf that he didn't want to go to Slytherin, and that the scarf was getting heavier and heavier, and he wanted to rip it off, but it gave him a headache.
As he struggled, Malfoy watched him and laughed, and Malfoy turned into Snape, the hooknose teacher.
And everything that happened to him, Carl stood by and looked coldly with his black eyes.
When he was awakened, the memories of the others were not very clear, only Carl's eyes, he remembered them clearly.
Throwing those eyes behind him, Harry began to look at the decorations of the common room.
Since he was so sleepy last night, he fell asleep without having time to do anything.
Now, he finally had time to take a good look at the place he was about to spend seven years in.
The Gryffindor lounge was decorated in red, filled with fluffy armchairs, and a roaring fire burning in the fireplace on the wall, which baked the whole room warm, but not too hot, which Harry thought might be due to the magic of magic.
"Harry!
As Harry surveyed the common room, Ron tugged at the hem of his shirt.
Harry looked back to see a boy walking down the spiral staircase.
It's Carl.
With those black eyes, Harry began to think that he might have seen somewhere.
After thinking about it, Harry decided to go up and say hello.
But when he got closer, he opened his mouth, but he didn't know what to say.
Unexpectedly, the boy didn't even look at him, and without the slightest intention of stopping, he bypassed him and walked towards the door of the common room.
It wasn't until the boy walked out of the lounge from behind the portrait of the fat lady that Ron finally came over, looked at where the boy had left, and muttered, "What a weird guy!"
Then, he turned back to Harry and said, "Harry, you want to be friends with him. ”
Harry shrugged his shoulders and stopped thinking about it.
When he was in a Muggle school, he was ignored.
"You two, you wake up so early!" a surprised voice came from the door of the women's dormitory.
Harry looked back and saw a girl with curly brown hair.
"Hermione!" he said.
Ron looked the girl up and down a few times, and finally put it on the schoolbag that the girl was carrying, and said with a strange face, "What do you want?"
Hermione raised an eyebrow, "I was going to get up early to go to class, but I found out that there was no class this morning-"
"What did you say? no class this morning?!" Ron interrupted in shock.
"Oh! Oops!" Harry covered his face, he didn't look at the schedule.
"Yes. Hermione nodded haughtily, "So I'm going to the library!"
With that, he ignored the two of them and walked towards the door of the common room with his head held high.
Dumbfounded as they stared at where Hermione had disappeared, Harry and Ron stood in place.
After a while, Ron finally spoke, "I can't stand her! Who will go to the library on the first day of school!"
"That sounds familiar!"
Again, a voice reached the ears of the two of them.
Looking up, I saw George and Fred coming down the spiral staircase.
"Good morning, Harry, and our dear little brother!"
"Hey!" Ron said angrily, very unhappy with the way his two older brothers called him.
Ignoring Ron's complaints, the twins glanced at each other.
"Do you still have an impression, George?" said Fred.
George pretended to think for a moment, then showed a look of sudden realization.
I remember that this time last year, we said the same thing to Carl. ”
Fred nodded, a distressed expression on his face.
"If it weren't for Professor McGonagall's refusal, I guess his dormitory would be the library. ”
"On that note, I'm on Professor McGonagall's side. George said seriously.
"Me too!" Fred nodded solemnly.
With that, the two laughed and clapped their hands back.
Unable to stand his two older brothers, Ron glanced at Harry helplessly.
Harry spread his hands, agreeing with Ron's opinion, but in his heart, he thought George and Fred were really funny.
Satisfied with Harry's approval, Ron looked at George and Fred and asked curiously, "What are you two going to do when you two get up so early?"
"None of this is your business, our dear little brother. George said warily.
Fredra paused him, and then said, "Maybe we suddenly have a conscience and want to learn from Carl and work hard." ”
George nodded immediately, "That's right, after the summer vacation, we have deeply realized the mistakes we have made in the past two years, and we are ready to study hard and strive to be in the top ten of our grade this year!"
"See you back, Harry!" they waved at Harry, and the two of them said in unison.
With that, the two left the common room without looking back.
"What a perfect match!" Ron muttered as he looked at the place where the twins had disappeared, not knowing whether he was talking about the twins or someone else.
......
"Ahh
Karl sneezed inexplicably, and when he looked up, he realized that he had already arrived at the library.
He frowned involuntarily, he seemed to have seen Harry Potter just now?
Struggling to remember what had just happened, Harry Potter seemed to want to say hello to him?
And then he seems to ignore people directly?
Does this count as daytime sleepwalking?
I'll have to go to Madam Pomfrey when I have time, don't get the aftermath of fighting with that mysterious man last semester, and that's going to be a problem.
