Books such as Jade Calendar Treasure Banknote and Taishang Induction Chapter should not be overindulged, and the authenticity needs to be identified. The four trainings are slightly better. Karma, karma, in the simple belief of the people, cause and effect are always followed by the word retribution. But the Buddhist theory of cause and effect is extremely profound, and it is by no means as plain as it is described in some ambiguous so-called good books. Everything is within cause and effect, and the Buddha could not go against cause and effect.

He calculated the predestined number for Yuan Lifan, and said: When you have not achieved fame and become a child, you should take the fourteenth place in the county examination, the seventy-first place in the government examination, and the ninth place in the school examination. In the second year, Yuan Lifan really took the exam in three places, and the rankings he took were completely consistent with what Mr. Kong had calculated.

Mr. Kong also calculated for Yuan Lifan the fortune and misfortune of his life: which year to get the first place, which year should make up for the students, which year should be the tribute students, and when the tribute students are paid, in a certain year, they should be elected as a county magistrate in Sichuan Province, and after being the county magistrate for three and a half years, they should resign and return to their hometowns. When he was fifty-three years old on August 14, he should have died, but unfortunately he had no son.

These words were recorded one by one and kept in mind. Since then, I have experienced all the things that have come true, regardless of the ranking in the exam, the promotion of official positions, etc. So Yuan Lifan decided that when he was born, when he died, when he was proud, and when he was frustrated, everything could not be changed, and he was indifferent to life.

Later, by chance, Yuan Lifan met Yungu Zen Master in Qixia Mountain, Yungu said: "Life has been made, each is born from the heart, there is no way for blessings and misfortunes, but people call themselves." The Zen master asked him, "Do you think you deserve fame?" Should there be a son? He said: "People in officialdom are blessed, but my appearance is light, and I have not been able to accumulate virtue for benefit, and I am impatient, narrow-measured, indulgent and willful, livious, self-respecting, and so on." turning miserliness into charity; Radical is peaceful; hypocrisy is piety; Impetuousness is calm; Pride is modesty; laziness is diligence; cruelty is mercy; Meanness is tolerance; Try to accumulate virtue and try to love yourself. As long as you expand your original moral nature, try to do more good deeds, and accumulate more yin virtues, this is a blessing that you have created, and others can't grab it, so maybe you won't be able to enjoy it? ”

Yuan Lifan believed in the words of Zen Master Yungu, thanked him, and accepted his advice; At the same time, I went to the Buddha to tell all the wrong things I had done in the past and the sins I had committed, no matter how big or small, and vowed to do 3,000 good deeds to repay my great kindness to Mr. Heaven and Earth Ancestor. He has changed from being confused and casual and unrestrained to being cautious and respectful, even in a dark room where there is no one, he is also wary of himself not to do wrong things and be punished by heaven. When others hate him and slander him, he can also deal with it calmly and not care.

In the second year, he went to the Ministry of Rites to take the imperial examination, and according to Mr. Kong's fortune, he should have taken the third place, but he actually took the first place, and Mr. Kong's words began to fail. Mr. Kong didn't calculate that he would be able to lift people in the exam, but he didn't know that in the autumn township exam, he actually passed the exam, which was not his fate.

Since then, Yuan Lifan has been more strict with himself, don't take the good as small, and don't take the evil as small. Strive to self-reflection and reform, and try your best to cultivate yourself and accumulate virtue and do good. The result is really "to cut off evil and cultivate good, and to eliminate disasters and bring blessings". Yuan Lifan had a son in the year of Xinsi, named Tianqi. Later, he also entered high school and was posthumously promoted to Shangbao Siqing. At the age of fifty-three, he was free of plague and died at the age of seventy-four.

When Yuan Lifan was sixty-nine years old, in order to teach his son Yuan Tianqi to know the truth of fate, to distinguish the standards of good and evil, to change the method of goodness, and to do good deeds and accumulate virtue and modest virtues, he used his own experience of changing the number of lives to "show up and say the Dharma", and completed the "Four Teachings of Lifan", which was later widely spread to the world.

Mei Xiaohan asked herself many times, asking herself whether she should believe in fate. In different time and space, in different worlds, those mysterious, weird, bizarre worlds that human beings will never know.

Perhaps, let go of all the entanglements and struggles in your heart and don't think about it, this is the wisest choice.
