Chapter 11: Humph!
Carl stood at the door of the principal's office for a long time, wondering how he should get in.
He couldn't just try a phrase like "Zizi Bee Candy" because he couldn't explain how he knew it.
After thinking about it for a long time, he didn't think of a good way, so he decided to go back and go to the dining room to block Dumbledore when it was time for dinner in the evening.
Thinking of this, he turned around and was about to leave, but at this time, the monster at the door got out of the way.
The wall behind it cracked in half, revealing a movable spiral staircase behind it.
Karl hesitated, then stepped up, swirling the stairs in circles and upwards, until he finally came to the door of Dumbledore's office.
Dumbledore was already standing there waiting for him.
"Carl, I gotta say, I'm glad you came. β
Dumbledore's first words made Carl's carefully prepared opening sentence come to fruition.
He seemed genuinely happy, with a smile on his face.
Karl opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say.
"Please come in. β
Dumbledore turned to let him in, and Carl had to step inside.
He looked around and saw that the decoration in the headmaster's office was needless to say, but he noticed that the portraits of the headmasters of the past realms on the walls were staring at him.
Carl didn't care about that anymore, and his attention was on the bookshelf in the headmaster's office - not just the books on it, but the phoenix next to the bookshelf.
"That's Fawkes. Dumbledore said with a smile.
It seems that Carl seems to be just in time for the peak of the phoenix's life, and the flaming feathers make Fawkes look very beautiful.
"Hello, Fawkes. Karl whispered involuntarily.
Fawkes yelled at him.
And this cry reminded him of something.
"Professor Dumbledore, I think this-" Karl drew his wand.
- The phoenix's cry was almost identical to the one he heard when he got the wand.
"Ah!" said Dumbledore, surprised, "you bought it, and I was a little surprised when Ollivander wrote to me. β
Dumbledore's face flashed with memories, "It's the wand I used when I was youngerβ"
Then, as if realizing something, he added with a smile: "At least younger than I am." β
Karl's eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the wand in his hand, and he almost forgot what he was here for.
He really didn't expect that this wand was used by Dumbledore himself, and he really didn't know what to say.
He thought a lot in a flash, and it was clear that in that world-famous decisive battle of the century, Dumbledore used the wand he now held in his hand to defeat Gellert Grindelwald.
"It's a good wand, Carl, and I hope you'll treat it well. Dumbledore said earnestly.
Somehow, from the moment the two talked about the wand, Dumbledore and Carl kept walking towards the door, and by the time Dumbledore had finished his last sentence, Carl had been sent by Dumbledore to the door of the Headmaster's Office.
Seeing that Dumbledore was about to close the door, Karl finally came to his senses.
The bad old man is very bad, I believe you are a ghost!!
Carl then remembered his true purpose for coming to Dumbledore, and quickly pressed his foot against the door.
"Well, Professor Dumbledore, may I ask you a question?"
Through the crack in the door, Dumbledore looked at Karl, sighed, and then opened the door and let Karl in again.
This time, Dumbledore didn't rush to speak, he asked Carl to sit down, and even made Carl a drink himself.
It wasn't until Carl pretended to take a sip that he finally said, "I know what you're asking, Carl - you've just arrived in the wizarding world, why are so many people paying attention to you." β
Carl looked at Dumbledore with his cup in his hand, waiting for his answer.
But Dumbledore shook his head, "But I can't tell you, it's up to you to find the answer yourself." β
"Why?" Karl tried to fight again.
"Because there's so much at stake, Carl. There was a hint of exhaustion in Dumbledore's eyes, "I can't take any chances. β
"Butβ" Karl opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say, he didn't know how to get Dumbledore to speak.
In every way, Dumbledore was not a bad person, he just liked to hide in the shadows to control the situation, hide his secrets deep in his heart, and only at the end would he reveal his hole cards, which made the people around him very uncomfortable.
But this is even more difficult, Carl can't treat Dumbledore like he did with the villain boss, and put the old man completely on his opposite.
Karl scratched his head angrily, if only he could remember what happened before he was two years old, then why should he be angry with the bad old man in front of him?
It's really evil, he can even remember many things in his previous life in this life, why can't he remember things before he was two years old.
Wait a minute!
Carl realized something.
He stared up at Dumbledore sharply, and said sharply, "You deleted my memory!"
Dumbledore sighed.
"Sure enough, it's you!" Kalten stood up, and the cup in his hand fell directly to the ground, turning into a pile of splinters.
Being deleted from his memory was something Carl could never tolerate, and for a moment, he even wanted to pull out his wand and give Dumbledore a hard blow, but he still endured it.
Looking at Carl like this, Dumbledore sighed again, "I knew you would be smart, Carl, but I didn't expect you to be so smart. β
Dumbledore spread his hands on his lap and looked straight at Carl.
Carl found that he looked at him strangely, there was helplessness, tiredness, and even a hint of relief.
What kind of expression is this? Watching a stupid son learn to walk?
"Bangbang!"
There was a knock on the door, and both Karl and Dumbledore looked up at the same time, and they had been sitting there staring at each other for a few moments.
"Please come in. Dumbledore said.
Outside, Snape pushed the door open and walked in.
"Professor. Snape's voice was as low as ever, and as if he hadn't seen Karl, he walked straight to Dumbledore.
Karl ignored Snape as well, his face gloomy and frightening.
Without saying goodbye to Dumbledore, Karl left the Headmaster's office without saying a word.
"He's really like him. Looking at where Carl had disappeared, Snape said.
"But one thing is different, Severus, his blood is warm. Dumbledore said.
"The blood of a snake changes with temperature, Dumbledore, when the surroundings are no longer warm, the blood of a snake becomes cold. Snape looked into Dumbledore's eyes, "You can switch the family that fostered him with our savior, and give it a try." β
For a moment, Dumbledore didn't seem to dare to look Snape in the eye, but only for a moment.
"I think we've talked about that a lot of times, Severus. β
"Humph!"
