And Emperor Yu's ancestor is the Yellow Emperor, his grandfather is the Yellow Emperor's eldest son "Xuan Huan", his father is Xuan Huan's son "Xuan Ji", and Zhen Xuan is Emperor Yu's cousin uncle.

In fact, Di Yu's original surname was Ji, his name was Yu, and his name was "Ji Yu". Ji Yu grew up beside Zhuan since he was a child, he was smart and wise, and he could speak well, so he was very popular with Emperor Zhuan.

Because Emperor Zhen felt that Ji Yu was very smart, he liked this nephew very much, so whenever he encountered some major events, he often asked Ji Yu to help him come up with ideas and find a way.

One day, Ji Yu asked Ji Yu: "Ji Yu, if there are nine countries attacking us now, if we fight hard with them, we will inevitably lose one and lose the other, and it will be difficult to win." What would you do if you were in such a situation? ”

Ji Yu said: "If the enemies of the Nine Kingdoms want to monopolize our territory, they will inevitably not give in to each other for their own interests. If we could get them to fight each other, wouldn't it be easy to destroy them? This should be the best way to go. ”

Zhen Yu thought about it: That's right, the method that Ji Yu thought of is really good. So he sent men to each of the nine enemy nations to mediate their relations, and soon they started a war against each other. Later, it didn't take much effort to put down the rebellion of the Nine Kingdoms.

Zhen Xuan saw that Ji Yu was really capable, so he sealed him in the place of "Xin" and let him be in charge of everything here. At that time, there were frequent floods in Xindi, and whenever the flood came, it would be flooded, and the people would have to move to another place.

However, when the flood broke out again in the place where they had re-migrated, the people moved back again. Everyone moved back and forth like this, and the people could not live and work in peace and contentment. This made Ji Yu very uneasy.

In order to solve everyone's worries as soon as possible, Ji Yu meditated hard to find a countermeasure, and he finally came up with a solution. So, he led everyone to raise the terrain of the residence. But they could not keep up with the rising water, and the place was flooded one day after another.

That night, it rained lightly outside, and although the rain was not very heavy, Ji Yu couldn't sleep over and over. He finally fell asleep, but he saw the Jade Emperor in a dream, so Ji Yu went to argue with the Jade Emperor.

He questioned the Jade Emperor: "Jade Emperor, since the Great Heaven gave birth to people in this world, why does it deliberately embarrass people and not let them live?" Isn't that unfair? ”

The Jade Emperor was dumbfounded by him, so he said to him: "Ji Yu, since you are coming to me for the people, I can't help but meet your requirements, so I will immediately send the gods down to raise the terrain of the 'Xin' land above the water." ”

Ji Yu was very excited when he saw that the Jade Emperor had agreed to his request. When he wanted to thank the Jade Emperor, the golden rooster reported that the sky was dawning. Ji Yu went out to see that the rain had stopped, and the terrain of the "Xin" land was actually raised above the water, and the people here would no longer be driven away by the flood.

Since then, the place "Xin" has been called "Gaoxin" (now Shangqiu, Henan) because of the elevation of the terrain. And because Ji Yu managed the land of Gaoxin, he was called "Gaoxin's family".

When the emperor was thirty years old, he took the throne instead of Zhuan. He began to live in Diqiu (present-day Puyang). Then, he moved the capital to Haoyi (southwest of present-day Yanshi County, Henan).

After Emperor Yu ascended the throne, he gave full play to his wisdom and talents, and he often visited the people to check the people's suffering. He is equal to all people in the world, and he does not violate the laws of nature. He also respectfully sacrificed to the ghosts and gods of heaven and earth, and prayed to the gods to bless the people, so the emperor was deeply loved by the people.

Emperor Yu has four imperial concubines, among them, the imperial concubine "Jiang Yan" is the daughter of the chief of the "Youtai clan" tribe, and she is also the concubine of Emperor Yu. One day, Jiang Yan met a big bear footprint in the wild, and out of curiosity, she stepped on the big toe of the footprint with one of her feet, not wanting to get pregnant.

Ten months after being pregnant, Jiang Yan gave birth to a baby. Because the baby was wrapped in a afterbirth like an egg, she thought it was a monster and abandoned the child on the road, but the passing cows and horses consciously avoided it.

Later, Jiang Yan abandoned the baby into the mountains, but even the wolves, insects, tigers and leopards on the mountains did not eat him. This didn't happen, Jiang Yan was a little difficult, she thought that this kid was really a monster.

In the end, Jiang Yan ruthlessly abandoned the baby on the frozen river. She turned to leave, when suddenly a large bird flew over the river, and the big bird covered the baby's body with its feathered wings.

Jiang Yan knew that this child had not been lost several times, and every time he was protected by cattle, sheep, tigers and leopards and hundreds of birds and not died, this must be a god protecting him, this must be God's instructions. So, Jiang Yan took the baby back and raised it carefully, and named the child "abandonment".

When he grew up, he was very fond of agronomy, and he liked to teach people to harvest crops and cultivate grains. As a result, Emperor Yu made him a minister in charge of agriculture, and he was also respected as an agricultural technician "Houji" (Houji is the ancestor of the Zhou Dynasty, surnamed Ji. ）。

Because the deed is the egg of the Xuanniao, therefore, the emperor gave the deed as the surname of the son (deed, which is the ancestor of the surname of the Shang Dynasty. ）。

When the emperor saw that her father had come to ask for her opinion, she said cheerfully: "Since my daughter has not repaid her parents for her nurturing kindness in this life, then I will use my marriage to exchange my marriage for the peace of my parents." However, who can come here to rescue us, who is unfamiliar with the people here? ”

Emperor Yu reigned for a total of 70 years, and with his efforts, the world was governed and the people were able to live and work in peace and contentment. Emperor Yu lived for a total of one hundred and five years (one said to be ninety-two years old), and after his death, he was buried in Gaoxin, Suiyang, Shangqiu.
