Chapter 1051: Bodhisattva Walk (12)
"What does it mean that a bodhisattva does nothing?"
Now the Buddha wants to explain the truth of "not abiding and doing nothing". Inaction is to attain the Tao and attain nirvana. Why don't bodhisattvas live in that realm?
"It is said that the study is empty, and it is not evidenced by emptiness. There is nothing to do in study, and there is no evidence of nothingness. If there is no beginning in learning, it is not evidenced by no beginning. "Emptiness, non-appearance, and non-action (or non-wishing) are the three liberations of Mahayana. Emptiness is the emptiness of everything, and the beginning of learning Buddhism is based on emptiness; Phaselessness means not being phased, not being deceived by phenomena; Doing nothing is to do but not doing, and all actions are forgotten (no wish is not with any desire to be).
There is a friend from other places, he is already a famous celebrity, and he often speaks to others. He asked me a question, there is a couple over there who have already had two daughters and want to have another son, and some time ago he had to come to me for help, so I said to recite the mantra of Avalokiteshvara in white. As a result, the third child gave birth to another daughter, and a piece was still missing from her mouth. The friend asked me why I didn't work.
I told him that the Buddha and Bodhisattva had never promised to "respond to requests", and this sentence was written by later generations. What's more, there is another article of "responding to requests": "sincerity is spiritual", how to call sincerity is very difficult.
Ordinary people learn Buddhism with the concept of investment, not Buddhism at all, and the spirit still has to cooperate with good deeds.
As for lip deformities, it is very likely that you should ask the couple if they had taken the wrong medication before and during pregnancy.
You are responsible for your own behavior! Relying entirely on the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and not cooperating with their own hearts and deeds will never be spiritual. So it's really difficult to be a bodhisattva, this one comes to make a wish, that one also comes to make a wish, and if you don't meet your wishes, it becomes a grievance.
The so-called unwillingness is what Confucianism says: do what you should do with righteousness, do what you feel should be helped, and don't ask the price when you finish it.
You may ask, the three liberations are emptiness, non-appearance, and non-doing, so isn't that all of them letting go?
Here the Buddhist scriptures tell you, "Cultivating emptiness is not evidenced by emptiness." There is no appearance and no work in study, and it is not evidenced by not taking nothing as evidence. ”
I know emptiness, but I definitely don't enter emptiness, who will save the world when it is empty? Mahayana bodhisattvas want to enter the world and do good.
Therefore, "if there is no beginning in learning, it is not evidenced by nothingness". It is of course good to be able to learn Buddhism without being moved, but the great bodhisattva is active in doing good, and he must find good deeds to do everywhere, and he will not take nothing as the end.
Impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness are the basic teachings of Buddhism, especially Hinayana Buddhism.
Impermanence means that there is no eternal existence; The world is bitter, and there is no joy; Everything is empty; There is no self in everything. But when you reach the Mahayana bodhisattva path, you have to go beyond the Hinayana realm.
"Look at impermanence, not tired of goodness." Although he sees that everything is impermanent, he is not tired of doing good and eliminating evil. Otherwise, they will think: since doing good deeds is impermanent, then why do it?
"Observe the suffering of the world, and not evil life and death." Not afraid of the suffering of life and death, with the purpose of saving all sentient beings.
"Observe selflessness, and teach people tirelessly." Although we can see that there is no self, that there is no one without me, that there is no one who speaks the Dharma and that there is no one who listens to the Dharma, we still do not get tired of educating sentient beings, and we do not have the mentality of retreating. The original text of "teaching people tirelessly" comes from the Analects.
"Contemplate extinction, not eternal extinction." Although we know all the emptiness of the Dharma, we will enter Nirvana and will not live in Nirvana forever, but we will jump out of Nirvana and be pure.
"Contemplation is far away, and the body and mind are cultivated." Although I understand the principle of impermanence and can stay away from all worldly actions, my body and mind are still cultivating and doing all the good things.
"There is no place to return, but to the fun and good law." All laws are one, where is one? Return to the void. Although I understand that there is no place to return, I still take the good law as my return.
