Chapter 710: The Second Interpretation of Prajna (Part II)

Good knowledge! When people with small roots hear about this teaching, they are like plants and trees, and if they are drenched by heavy rain, they will all fall down and cannot continue to grow. The same is true for people with small roots, who have heard Dafa, and their original wisdom is no different from that of people with great wisdom, so why can't they become enlightened when they hear this teaching? Because they cling to wrong views, they know that there are many obstacles, and their disturbing habits are deeply rooted, as if a dense cloud obscures the sun, and without a wind to blow the clouds away, the sun cannot be revealed. If there is wisdom, everyone is originally sufficient, and there is no difference between big and small, just because all sentient beings have different understandings in their own minds. If the mind is confused, seeking the Dharma from the outside, looking for the Buddha by centrifugation, and not being able to realize the self-nature, this is the person with the small root nature. If you comprehend the teachings of Dun and do not practice externally and do not cling to the outside of your mind, but only always generate correct views in your own heart, then naturally all your troubles and dustiness cannot be stained, and this is seeing your own nature.

Good knowledge! If you are not attached to the inner and outer realms, you can come and go freely, and if you can get rid of your attachment, you will be able to reach selflessness and no obstacles. If you can practice in this way, you will be no different from what the Prajna Sutra says.

Good knowledge! All the scriptures, all the texts, the great and small two-vehicle teachings, and the twelve sutras are all set up by people, and they can only be established because of their intellectual nature. If there were no people in the world, there would naturally be no ten thousand laws. From this, we can see that all the ten thousand laws were originally established by the world, and all the scriptures are only available because of the sayings of men. For there are foolish and wise among the world, and the foolish are called villains, and those who are wise are called greats. The foolish ask the wise for advice, and the wise speak to the foolish; If a foolish person suddenly understands and is open-minded, he is no different from a wise person.

Good knowledge! If one thought is not enlightened, even a Buddha will become a sentient being; When one thought is enlightened, all beings are Buddhas. Therefore, we can know that all the laws of the universe are in our hearts. So why don't you go straight down from your heart to see the truth as your true nature? The Bodhisattva Precepts Sutra says: My human nature is originally pure and unblemished. If you can recognize your own mind and see your own nature, you will be able to achieve the Buddha's path. In the Vimala Sutra, it is said: The present moment suddenly opens up, and you return to your own heart.

Good knowledge! When I was with the monk Hongren, as soon as I heard him say the Dharma, even if he became enlightened, he immediately saw the true nature, so he spread this teaching method widely, so that those who learned the Tao had an epiphany of Bodhi, and each of them looked at his own mind and saw his own nature. If you can't comprehend it, you have to seek out the knowledge of the great good, that is, the person who understands the highest multiplication method, and directly shows you the right way. This good knowledge has great causes, which is the so-called enlightenment and guidance, so that sentient beings can see their own nature, because all good dharmas can be initiated by good knowledge. In my own nature, I already have the three Buddhas and the twelve sutras, and if I am foolish and cannot realize myself, I must ask for the instructions of good knowledge before I can see it. If a person can perceive his own nature, he naturally does not need to look outside his heart; It would be a mistake to cling to the knowledge of goodness in order to attain liberation. Why? All beings have the original wisdom in their hearts, and they can realize themselves. If you have a different view, if you lose your own mind, and if you turn your delusions upside down, you will not be saved, even if you are taught good knowledge outside your heart. If true prajna contemplation can arise, in an instant, delusions can be completely extinguished. If one can recognize one's own nature, one can go straight to the Buddha land.

Good knowledge! With intelligent observation, you can be bright and clear inside and out, and know your original sincerity. If one realizes one's true self, one attains the liberation of one's own unhindered freedom, and if one attains liberation, one enters into the correct concentration of prajna. Prajna is the absence of a single thought, that is, the mind is untainted with all the dharmas that are known and seen. This thought, which does not arise, can be applied everywhere, but it does not linger everywhere. As long as the original mind is purified, so that the six senses are out of the six gates, there is not the slightest defilement and delusion in the six dust realms, and the people come and go freely, unobstructed, and use all ends, without stagnation and hindrance, this is Prajna Samadhi, which is liberation, and this is called non-thoughtless action. If you are obsessed with nothing and don't think about anything, then you should cut off your thoughts, and this is the Dharma, which is also called side viewing.

Good knowledge! Those who have realized that there is no recitation of the Dharma can reach all the Dharma without obstacles; Those who have attained the Dharma of non-recitation have seen the realm of the Buddhas; Those who have attained the Dharma of non-recitation have reached the fruition level of the Buddha land.

Good knowledge! Those who have received this method in future generations will be able to make a vow to believe in and receive this method together with those who have the same views and deeds, and those who will worship the Buddha as a colleague and will not retreat for the rest of their lives, will definitely be able to attain the state of a saint. However, to pass on this method, it is necessary to pass on the instructions of the ancestors of the past generations to silently transmit the heart seal, and the Dharma of the sect must not be concealed. If they do not have the same view and the same mind, and practice in other sects, they should not spread it in vain, lest it damage the lineage of their original sect, which is not beneficial, and it is especially afraid that some foolish people will not understand and slander this method, which will cause a hundred eons and thousands of beings to cut off the nature of the Buddha.

Good knowledge! I have a hymn that each of you must memorize, whether you are a monk at home, just follow it and practice it. If you can't practice on your own, just memorizing my words won't do you any good.

Listen to me:

Speaking of the law and the self-heart, it is like the void in the great sun.

The only way to teach the law of seeing nature is to be born to destroy the evil sect.

The Faben does not distinguish between pause and gradual, and the time for enlightenment is fast and slow.

This is the only way to see sexuality, and the foolish cannot know it.

Even if the statements are different, the rational body is still the same.

In the dark dwelling of troubles, it is often necessary to have the sunshine.

When evil thoughts come, they are troubled, and when righteous thoughts come, they are removed.

There is no need for both evil and good, and there is no room for purity.

Bodhi is originally self-conscious, and if you think about it, it is delusional.

The pure mind is in the delusional mind, but the righteous mind has no three obstacles.

If people in the world want to cultivate the Buddha's way, all the methods may be appropriate.

If you are too diligent in self-reflection, you will be able to reconcile with the Tao.

All sentient beings have their own ways, and their own cultivation is not harmful.

Since he left his way to seek the Tao, he will never be able to see the Tao for the rest of his life.

The wind and dust waves have been wavering all his life, and in the end he is still annoyed.

If you want to see the true Tao, you must be righteous in your actions.

If you don't have the heart of the Tao, you can't see the Tao in secret.

If you are a true cultivator, you will not see the wrongs of the world.

If you only see others, you are at fault.

I have no fault with others, and I blame others for their own faults.

As long as we stop blaming ourselves and people's hearts, we can break through the obstacle of troubles.

Hatred and love do not care, long stretch out and lie freely.

If you want to teach and reform people, you must have a convenient method.

Not to make others doubt in their lives is the manifestation of their own nature.

The Dharma is already in the world, and enlightenment does not leave the world;

Leaving the world to find Bodhi is like bothering to ask for a rabbit's horns.

The right view is called the wisdom of the world, and the evil view is called the confusion of the world;

The evil and the good are all swept away, and the Bodhi nature is clearly revealed.

This hymn is the Dharma of Don, also known as the Dharma Boat.

Charming and hearing the law has gone through many eons, and the epiphany is only in an instant.

The Sixth Patriarch also said, "Today I am talking about this teaching method in the Dafan Temple, I hope that all sentient beings in the world will be able to see and become Buddhas immediately after listening to it. ”

At that time, Wei Tingshi, bureaucrats, monks and lay disciples all realized after listening to the Fa said by the six ancestors. So everyone bowed to the Sixth Patriarch Master at the same time, and praised: "Great! I can't imagine that there is a Buddha born in Lingnan!"
