Chapter 619: The Second Interpretation of Prajna (Part I)
Besides, after Zhang Cambodia recited the "Sutra of the Six Ancestors Altar" and paid the tenth order, he announced a moment of rest.
I don't know when, the hall has been crowded with black oppressive crowds, and among the listeners, there are some who can understand; There are those who seem to understand but do not understand; There are also those who come to listen to the news with curiosity...... When they heard the person on the stage who recited the "Sutra of the Altar of the Six Patriarchs" announce a moment of rest, they all stood still on the ground, for fear that if they left for a while, they would never be able to find a foothold when they returned.
It is no wonder that the attraction of "The Sutra of the Altar of the Six Ancestors" is too great, and Zhang Cambodia's recitation eloquence is also charming, how can the listener miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! I want to listen to the gentleman on the stage to explain the Buddhist thought of the "Sutra of the Six Patriarchs", the only Chinese Buddhist work that is respected as the "Sutra", the Buddha nature theory of "seeing nature to become a Buddha", or "the mind is a Buddha", and the practice concept of "epiphany and seeing nature"; I want to know more about how to practice the Bodhi nature of "all sentient beings can become Buddhas".
After a moment of rest, Zhang Khan Zhishu picked up the first time and began to explain the second of the Prajna products:
The next day, he came to ask the Sixth Patriarch for teaching, and he ascended to the Dharma throne and said to the people, "Purify your mind first, and come together to recite the Mahaprajnaparamita." ”
Then, the Sixth Patriarch said, "Good knowledge! Bodhi wisdom, all beings in the world originally have everything, but because of a single thought, they cannot realize themselves, and they must be guided by the knowledge of great goodness in order to see their own nature. You should know that there is no difference between the Buddha-nature of a fool or a wise man, but it is only because of the difference between delusion and enlightenment that there is a difference between a fool and a wise man."
The Sixth Patriarch said, "I am now speaking for you about the 'Mahaprajnaparamita' Dafa, so that you can each develop your wisdom. Listen attentively! I say for you"
Good knowledge! People in the world recite Prajna all day long, but they cannot recognize the Prajna in their own mind, just like a hungry person who says that he will never be satisfied. If you just talk empty all day long, but you can't put it into practice, even if you go through thousands of eons, you won't be able to see your own nature, and you won't be able to benefit after all.
Good knowledge! Mahapraparamita is an Indian language, and when translated into Chinese, it is to use great wisdom to the other side. This must be done from the heart, not just by words. If you just talk with your mouth but your heart can't do it, then it will be like illusion, transformation, dew, and electricity, and you will eventually be empty; If the mouth is recited and the heart is acted, then the pure bodhi nature is the innocent Buddha inherent in everyone, and there is no other Buddha apart from the self-nature. What is Maha? The translation of Maha is "great", which means that bodhichitta is vast, like a void, with no boundaries, no distinction between the size of a square circle, green, yellow, red and white, length of the top and bottom, anger and joy, right and wrong, good and evil, head and tail, and so on. All the lands of the Buddhas are like the void. The spirit of the world is as empty as it is, and there is no way to attain it. The nature of the Dharma is inherently empty, and the same is true.
Good knowledge! Don't listen to me about emptiness, and then cling to emptiness. First, don't cling to emptiness! If there is no meditation in the mind, this is attachment and emptiness.
Good knowledge! The void of the world can contain all kinds of colors and images of all things: the sun, the moon, the stars, mountains, rivers, the earth, springs, streams, plants, jungles, wicked people, good people, evil laws, good laws, heavens, hells, all seas, Sumeru mountains, all contained in the void. The wonderful vacuum of the world's people contains all kinds of laws.
Good knowledge! Self-nature contains ten thousand laws, which is greatness, and ten thousand laws are in everyone's own nature. If you see anyone, whether it is good or evil, you can do it without giving it up, and you don't get dyed, and your mind shines like nothingness, then you call it great, so Sanskrit is called Maha.
Good knowledge! Those who are confused but not enlightened only speak with their mouths, but the wise people who are enlightened can act with their hearts. There is another group of people who are deluded and unenlightened, who sit quietly and do not think about anything, thinking that this is greatness. Such people are not enough to say to him the Dharma of 'Mahaprajna', because they have fallen into the error of wrong views.
Good knowledge! The self-nature mind is vast, and it travels all over the Dharma realm, and when it is used, it is clear from the experience, and when it is applied, it knows everything. All dharmas are one dharma, one dharma is all dharmas, come and go freely, and there is no obstacle in the mind and body, this is Prajna.
Good knowledge! All wisdom is born from one's own nature, not from the outside, so don't use your mind wrongly! This is called true self-use. One Dharma is true means that all Dharma is true. The mind should be used to develop the true nature of oneself, to turn confusion into enlightenment, and not to work the path of meditation in the hollow, let alone talk about emptiness all day long, and not to practice vacuum in the heart! It's like a common man who claims to be the king, but it's not true after all. Such people are not my disciples.
Good knowledge! What is Prajna? Sanskrit Prajna, translated as wisdom in Chinese. In all places and in all times of our daily lives, if we can keep our minds in mind without ignorance and foolishness, and act with wisdom, this is Prajna. If you think foolishly, you will lose all your thoughts. As soon as you think of delusion, you can be born like a prajna. Ordinary people in the world are ignorant and cannot see the reality of Prajna. Though his mouth speaks like this, his heart is deceived by foolishness; Although I often say to myself, 'I'm practicing Prajna,' and think about emptiness, I don't know the truth of vacuum. If there is no form to say, the intelligent mind is this formless and uninterrupted reality. If it is understood in this way, it is called prajnawisdom.
What is Paramita? This is an Indian dialect, which translates to 'to the other side' in Chinese, and from its translation, it means to cut off birth and death. If the mind is attached to the external realm, there will be birth and death, like the waves in the water, which is called this shore; If the mind does not climb to the outside world, it is like flowing water that is always unimpeded, and birth and death do not arise for a reason, so it is called the other side, so it is called Paramita.
Good knowledge! Those who are deluded and unenlightened only know the words of the mouth; But when I read it, I have delusions and wrongs in my heart. If you can recite your mind and do it, then you can be true and true. It is the Prajna Dharma that has realized this Dharma; Prajna practices this practice. If you can't practice like this, you're an ordinary man; If one can realize and cultivate, one's own body will be no different from that of a Buddha.
Good knowledge! Ordinary people are Buddhas, and troubles are Bodhi. If the former thought is confused, he is an ordinary man; After thinking about enlightenment, you are the Buddha. The previous thought is attached to the realm, which is trouble; If you don't climb the realm, you are Bodhi.
Good knowledge! Mahaprajnaparamita is the most noble, supreme, and first Dharma, from which all Buddhas of the past, present, and future are born. We should use great wisdom to break through the five aggregates. If you practice, you will definitely be able to achieve the Buddha's path, change the three poisons of greed, ignorance, and ignorance, and become the three precepts, concentration, and wisdom without missing the learning.
Good knowledge! My method can give birth to 84,000 kinds of intelligence from one reality. Why? For there are eighty-four thousand troubles and toils in the world. If there is no dust, the wisdom of Prajna can arise from time to time, and the mind will never leave the bodhi nature. Those who have realized this method naturally have no delusions, no thoughts, no attachments, no delusions and reversals, apply the truth as their own nature, observe things with the wisdom of Prajna, and do not attach themselves to or renounce all the Dharmas.
Good knowledge! If one wants to enter the profound realm of the One True Dharma and the correct concentration of Prajna, one must practice Prajna, recite the Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra, and then one can see one's own nature. Everyone should know that this "Diamond Sutra" has immeasurable merits, which have been clearly praised in the scriptures, and cannot be described in detail. This method is the best teaching, and it is said for people who have great wisdom and a superior roots. When people with small roots and small intelligence hear about this method, they will have doubts and disbelief in their hearts. Why? It's like the heavy rain that rains on the dragon in Yanfuti, and the cities and villages are drifting down the river, like drifting jujube leaves. If the rain falls in the sea, the water does not increase or decrease. People with the Mahayana root nature, the highest root nature, can comprehend and understand the Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra when they hear others say it, and they know that there is prajna intelligence in their nature, which is obtained by constantly using the wisdom of contemplation, not by pretending to be written or written. For example, rain does not come from the sky, but the dragon can bring rain to the clouds, so that all living beings, all plants, trees, and feelings are all moistened. The flow of hundreds of rivers into the sea and the sea water become one, as is the wisdom of the Prajna in the nature of all beings.
