Chapter 16: Christmas
When everything is on track, time flies.
For Carl, Halloween and Christmas seem to be linked to each other - apart from being coerced into a Gryffindor Quidditch match by Professor McGonagall, he spends most of his days in the library and classroom.
By the time he came to his senses, the Christmas holidays had already begun.
During the Christmas holidays at Hogwarts, students can choose to go home or stay in school with parental consent.
On this note, he assumed that Nick and Louise would write to him urging him to go home.
Unexpectedly, Nick and Louise ignored him at all, and the two went to France to live a two-person world.
However, he received a Christmas gift from the two of them in Hela, a light wheel 2000, and Carl rolled his eyes at the time.
If you have this money, it is better to give it to him directly and let him go to the Blotted Bookstore to pick up a few good books.
In addition to this, Carl also received quite a few gifts.
In fact, on December 25, when he woke up from his bed, Carl was shocked by the scale of the gift under the bed.
The gifts were piled up so that he had little place to stay.
It's someone else's mind, and Carl can't just throw it aside without looking at it, so he has to spend half a day unpacking the gift on Christmas Day.
Tearing it apart, he froze, and he suddenly felt a little weak, because he remembered something, he didn't buy anyone's gifts—he had forgotten about it.
But it had come to this point, and it was too late for him to remedy it.
Adhering to the mentality that people are invincible, Carl hummed "Jingle Bells" and continued to open gifts.
He saw the sweater and fudge that Mrs. Weasley had given him, and he simply put the clothes on his body, and it fit well.
Then there's George and Fred, who together deliver a box of brand new crackling cards.
What the hell? Karl threw the set aside in disgust, he was going to wait a while and talk to the two of them, don't give him such a boring thing in the future, and waste money.
Jokowi's things have always been very expensive, and with George and Fred's financial resources, to be honest, Carl is quite impressed.
However, it would be a waste to give him a bundle of parchment paper.
Charlie gave him a pair of dragon skin gloves, which were very nice, simple and practical. Carl gave Charlie a thumbs up in his heart.
And the biggest bunch, from a group of people he didn't know at all, some of whom he had only met a few times - someone always took the initiative to talk to him while he was reading a book in the library, which annoyed him to death.
Because of the good memory, he everyone remembers, and this situation is mostly for girls.
No, it's all girls!!!
Most of them gave him chocolates.
What a waste of money, Carl thought. He doesn't have a sweet tooth at all.
When he opened the last package, Carl was a little stunned, and Dumbledore actually gave him a gift.
It's a pair of wool socks. He pursed his lips, he thought that Old Deng Tou would give him a magic book with a bull fork, or a magic prop he made himself, like a lamp extinguisher.
"It's really picky. Carl muttered.
But he still put his socks on his feet.
......
Carl came out of the dormitory, he didn't see George and Fred, but there were a few junior wizards he didn't know with playing wizarding chess in the common room.
He arrived at the Great Hall, where the walls were lit up with ribbons of holly and mistletoe, and twelve huge Christmas trees, enchanted icicles and candles, had been placed two weeks in advance.
Hagrid is adjusting the position of the last few Christmas trees for the upcoming Christmas dinner. Professor Flitwick was watching, and it seemed as if he was afraid that Hagrid would clumsily break the magic he had placed on the tree.
There was no one in the auditorium except for the teacher, so Carl stood out when he entered.
"Hello, Carl. Hagrid waved at Karl. When he put his hand down, he nearly hit Professor Flitwick in the head, but he was quick to dodge.
"Hello, Hagrid. Hello, Professor Flitwick. Carl said.
It was the first time he had spoken to Hagrid, and sometimes he felt that Hagrid was a little afraid of him, and always deliberately avoided him. Of course, it may also be because he rarely leaves the castle, and he has only met Hagrid a few times in total, and Hagrid may not have seen him.
"Do you need my help, Professor, Hagrid?" asked Karl.
Hagrid was stunned for a moment, and then he realized that Carl was talking to both him and Professor Flitwick at the same time.
"No need, Carl. I can do it myself. Hagrid dodged Karl's gaze.
Carl nodded and looked at Flitwick, "Professor?"
Professor Flitwick stroked his beard, and then he seemed to have a good idea.
"Aha!" he slammed his palm, "Carl, I thought, what would you like if you could make these trees float?"
With that, he gave Carl a mischievous look.
Karl immediately understood that he was trying to test him.
It's not hard to make something float, a levitation charm will do. But Carl couldn't get the tree to float around, he had to keep them fixed somewhere.
And the Christmas tree is not the feather they used in class practice, and it is different from the plastic products in his previous life, it is a real pine tree, which is sinking to death.
Karl smiled, drew his wand, pointed to the tree closest to him, and muttered a few words.
Immediately afterward, the tree slowly floated from the ground, but when it floated to a certain height, it stopped moving.
Hagrid looked at the floating tree in amazement, he reached out and pushed the trunk hard, but the tree only moved when he pushed, and as soon as he let go, he floated back on its own, like an invisible gummy stuck there.
"Awesome!Carl!Awesome!" Flitwick clapped his hands happily, "Clever use of the Levitation Charm and Immobilization Charm, and excellent control! Gryffindor plus five points!"
He's forgotten about it.
......
Karl was Professor McGonagall's most proud protégé until he started deducting points from Gryffindor...... is still her most proud protégé.
In contrast, Flitwick liked Carl the most.
PS: One of the reasons Flitwick likes Carl is probably because Carl always deducts points from Gryffindor.
