1056 What is the Buddha Realm (2)
"I look at it as if it comes, I don't come in the future, I don't go in the future, and I don't live in the future." For example, today we have a moment where we sit here and listen to an old man brag. Will there be any more meetings in the future? You and I probably don't know. But if someone knows that we have had this moment after more than a thousand years, there will be a shadow in our hearts, but it is not true. "The past does not come", the ancients have not been to the present, and there are no ancients here; "I don't go in the future", you say that there is tomorrow, tomorrow is tomorrow, and it has nothing to do with the present; "I don't live now", and now I can't get it, and my thoughts don't stop.
The Diamond Sutra says that what is Nyolai is "from nowhere, and nowhere to go, is the name Nyolai." "To come is to not come, and to go is to not go. There is a monastic poem that reads:
Who was me before I was born,
Who am I after birth?
Grow up to know me,
Who is the blindfolded with closed eyes?
According to the way the Dharma is written, there is nothing to come from and nothing to go, to be born without life, and to come is to not come.
Vimal lay people came face to face with the Buddha, and he said that looking at the Buddha is "not coming in the future, not going in the future, and not staying in the present." "We meditate and look at our thoughts, the past is gone, the next one is not yet born, we just say the present, the present is gone.
Some time ago, a fellow practitioner came to see me from out of town, and he said that he was very tired and could not study Buddhism, and now he is practicing the method of contemplating the mind.
I asked him what he thought of it, and he said that I wouldn't chase after the first thought, and I wouldn't cause it if the second thought didn't get up.
I said yes!
He said, "Teacher, you said that the present moment is empty, but I can't be empty at the moment!"
I said, you kid is so stupid! The previous thought ran away and didn't chase, yes, it's a fool to recall the past, and if you want to be a fool in the future, you can't change a word in the moment, saying "the moment is"! What are you empty?
He was stunned. Again, the moment is empty, huh! I might even say it's right now! If you go and catch that empty, it's not empty.
The present moment is neither emptiness nor being, that is, emptiness is existence. Those who ask for the Dharma on the lips of others are useless, and you have to ask for it in your own heart. You're right right now, you don't care if he's empty or not!
In our meditation room, the people who came to participate in meditation in the afternoon are gone, and the people who come to participate in meditation in the evening have not yet come.
Someone replied yes. That's right, there is still this meditation room, it is empty and quite comfortable, why should you throw this house away? But he was empty.
So, you get the idea, right? This is how the contemplation of the mind is viewed, the future does not come, the future does not go, the present does not live, and it is left to nature. It's very reassuring, there it is.
You meditate, alas, pneumatically, your legs are numb. You know the pneumatics, you know that your legs are numb, you are watching, you are watching your body too closely. Contemplation itself is emptiness, so we don't contemplate, we don't contemplate, we don't contemplate, we don't seek.
"Don't look at what you think, don't look at what you do, don't look at what you do, don't look at what you do." If you don't look at the color, you don't even look at it, you don't want to do it, and you can throw it all away. This is the view of the Buddha, the view of the Buddha.
"If it is not the four major rises, it is the same as the void." What is Buddha? It's not the Buddha in the main hall, it's not the one you see shining in your dreams, it's not the four great ones, it's not coming up from the body. It is the same as the void, but it does not say that the void is a Buddha, and the void is a physical phenomenon.
"Six into nothing, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind have passed." Six into is six. People have a misconception that meditation is about cutting off the six roots.
Some people say that you are very pure in meditation, that is, you still hear sounds, and you don't want to be deaf, why don't you listen to sounds?
I heard it, but it has nothing to do with you! Now that you listen to me, what do you have to say? You can't keep it! At the same time, there are birds singing outside, which has nothing to do with you, isn't it very clean? "Six into no accumulation", it originally did not stay in it, the past is over, do not pursue.
