Chapter 805: Sixteen Grades

"Wealth is immeasurable, for the poor", Vimo lay people have immeasurable wealth, wealth is immense, there is no limit, as if there is a cornucopia. It is said that Vimal is "immeasurably rich, and he gives to the poor" and that all the poor are relieved, which is the merit of his generosity.

Although Vimal is in his family, he abides by all the precepts of being a monk at home and will not break them.

"Temper your actions with forbearance, and take all your anger", and use the highest forbearance and humiliation cultivation to subdue your own psychology and behavior. Endure humiliation without hatred, slight anger is anger, and the most serious is anger, and the real heavy is anger, that is, hatred. A person with a grudge may fall into the animal path, because all his nerves and muscles carry a kind of hatred, which is very serious.

"Make great progress with great diligence and slack off", our example of learning Buddhism is like this, we are making great progress day and night, working hard at all times, not slacking off on ourselves, and not being lazy or lazy.

"One mind is silent, and all chaos is contained", his mind is always in the realm of meditation, silent and pure, and not chaotic under any circumstances.

"To determine wisdom and to subdue the unwise" is the achievement of Prajna's wisdom, and his wisdom is so high that he has decisive judgment on the immeasurable method, and the unwise people have become wise when they come to him.

The above passage is about the six paramitas, and the original text says, "Wealth is immeasurable, and it is for the poor," which means generosity. Because the classics pay attention to the realm of literature, the two sentences are lined up in pairs, which is very beautiful. Therefore, when I read the Vimala Sutra, the text seems to be understood, the concepts are not clear, the level of Chinese is not good, and the Buddhist scriptures and Zen cannot be understood. If we add a sentence to it, it becomes "immeasurable wealth, taking care of the poor, it is generosity", then it will be clearly understood.

Why does the Mahayana path talk about the six paramitas? It is for the achievements of these six general directions. For generosity can give to the poor and relieve them of the pain of poverty. Because the Vimal people have great wealth and can help the poor in the world; Because of his achievements in keeping the vows, he influenced others not to sin. for he can endure humiliation, and will not lose his temper and become angry; Because he cultivates diligently, he will not slack off or be sloppy; Because of meditation, the mind is not scattered; Because if the cultivation of Prajna is attained, he knows everything in heaven and earth. The purpose of studying Buddhism and the Six Perfections is this, not empty words. Here are some examples for us to learn from our home workers.
