Chapter 1063: The Buddha from the Miaoxi Country

Shi Miaoxi World should benefit in this land, and its affairs have been completed, and it has been restored, and everyone can see it.

At this time, as soon as the Vimo monk put his hand, the Miaoxi Buddha Kingdom returned to its original position. During the whole process, there was no movement and no Dharma to anyone, and the sentient beings in the world of Miaoxi and our world did not talk, everyone just saw this scene and became enlightened, and the merits of the Miaoxi Buddha Kingdom were also completed.

There is such a question in Zen Buddhism, what is the reason why the Buddha land appears and does not reappear? There's a story to tell.

There is a Lingyun Zen master who has not been able to realize the Tao after 30 years of meditation, so he decided not to participate in Zen, but to practice, that is, to follow the path of precept and wisdom, chanting Buddha, visualization, etc. (I am afraid that you will give up after 30 years). His heart relaxed, and he was less nervous. One day in the spring, he walked outside and saw the peach blossoms in full bloom, and he suddenly realized it.

Even if we look at peach blossoms every day, why can't we understand it? It's like if we eat apples every day, we just won't realize gravity. After Patriarch Lingyun became enlightened, he composed a poem:

Thirty years of swordsmanship

A few times the leaves fell back and the branches were pulled

Since the first sight of the peach blossoms

Even now, there is no doubt about it

Some people compare the enlightenment of Lingyun Zen Master to this paragraph of the Vimala Sutra. When the Vimal monks showed the Buddha kingdom to everyone, it appeared and did not reappear, and there were fourteen people in this world of samva, so they became enlightened. What is the rationale for this?

Later, a Zen master replied to this question, saying that it is the same principle that the sentient beings in the world of Suva saw the Buddha Kingdom and realized the Tao, and the Lingyun Zen Master saw the peach blossom and realized the Tao. Everyone has the opportunity to see the immobility at any time, it is all a flash and does not reappear, but no one can grasp it. Therefore, this Zen master made the first verse, which is very clever:

Lingyun will never see each other again

The red and white branches do not have flowers

Passengers on fishing boats

But they came to the flat ground to pick fish and shrimp

Why do you have to see the peach blossom to realize the Tao, and you can also realize the Tao when you see the chair and see the shit. When you come to the meditation hall to meditate, you want to fish, but you are fishing on flat ground, how do you catch it? See. In fact, most people in the world seek the Tao, but they are in the opposite direction.

The Buddha said to Sariputta: Do you see this wonderful world and the Buddha who does not move?

The Buddha said to Sariputta, have you seen the world of joy and the Buddha without moving?

Only! Seen, World-Honored One. May all sentient beings attain a pure land, like an immovable Buddha. Gain supernatural powers, such as Vimalaya.

Sariputta said, Yes, I did. I wish that all sentient beings could attain their own pure land, a vacuum like an immovable Buddha. I also hope that when all sentient beings use it, they will be able to reach the realm of supernatural powers like Vimala.

World-honored one, we will soon be good and profitable, and we will see that we are human beings, and we will be close to each other to make offerings. All sentient beings, if they are now, if they hear this sutra after the Buddha is destroyed, they will also benefit from it. After hearing about it again, the belief and understanding are accepted, the commentary is read, and the practice is like the Dharma.

Sariputta continued, "We are really happy to have such a good thing today, to see Vimala and to be able to offer to him. Other sentient beings, both today and after the death of the Buddha, will also benefit from reading this sutra. Moreover, after reading and listening to this sutra, you can absolutely believe in the understanding, keep it firmly in your heart, read and explain it to others, and sincerely follow the practice.

If there is a hand that is a classic, it is a treasure that has been obtained. If there is recitation, explain its meaning, and if it is said to practice, it is the protection of the Buddhas.

Those who have made offerings to such people should know that they are making offerings to the Buddha. Whoever has a book and holds this scroll should know its room, that is, it will come. If you hear that you can rejoice in the scriptures, then you will be interested in all wisdom. If you can believe and interpret this sutra, even one or four verses, and say it for him, then you should know that this person has received the three bodhisattvas of Anuttara." Here we continue to explain the preciousness of this sutra and its merits, which can be understood by all. At this point in the Vimala Sutra, the merits are generally complete.
