Chapter 1030: Lao Tzu's Explanation of the Dao

In Lao Tzu's harmony, the Tao is explained in many places, that is, I am afraid that future generations will not understand, or understand it wrongly.

Right now! Excerpt Lao Tzu's explanation of the Tao together for everyone to understand.

In the fourth chapter, Lao Tzu described the Tao like this:

Dao Chong, and use it or not profit. Abyss, like the sect of all things; Zhanxi, as if it exists. I don't know whose son is the first of the emperors.

Lao Tzu said: The Tao is like a container, which seems to contain many, many things, inexhaustible! The Tao is like a container, which can hold many, many things, and not enough to hold it! We don't know where it came from, we can't find its origins. But the origin of all things begins here! It seems too mysterious, let's say it doesn't exist! It actually exists; Let's say it exists, but we can't see its source. I don't know how it came to be, it should have existed before everything existed.

In fact! Lao Tzu's explanation in this way is still very general, from the perspective of the Tao, it is a general reference, and it is still not easy for people to understand.

If we were to be more specific, we would have to give examples.

In the first article, Lao Tzu talked about "nothingness" and "existence", and talked about the changes in the sermon. In fact! This one is still preaching a change in the sermon.

Lao Tzu said in the first article that nothing is the beginning of heaven and earth, and existence is the mother of all things. From nothing changes and evolves into concrete things, and this concrete thing is the Tao. So! All things are Tao, and everything is Tao. Man is the Tao, things are also the Tao, and everything in heaven and earth is the Tao, including the starry sky of the universe.

To say that everything is the Tao has been generalized, in general. If you want to be specific, you can point out any thing, and it is all Tao. It is easier for people to understand by listing a specific object and using it to explain this article.

Take people as an example, people are also like a container, as if there are many, many things in it, inexhaustible! Man is like a container, as if it could hold many, many things in it, and it could not fit enough!

Why? Because! Human beings also change and evolve. Man changed and evolved from ape. The ape-man may have evolved from a monkey or a gorilla or something. Or! Humans, apes, monkeys, gorillas, etc., all descend from the same ancestor.

So? What kind of ancestors do the same ancestor share with the same ancestor?

Again! We can also go back to the source, endlessly......

This is the result of our upward traceability! We can't find the true source. In short, we human beings come from between heaven and earth, and under the action of heaven and earth, we eventually form human beings. All things are the same, they are also formed by the action between heaven and earth.

We don't know where it came from, we can't find its origins. But the origin of all things begins here! It seems too mysterious, let's say it doesn't exist! It actually exists; Let's say it exists, but we can't see its source. We don't know how it came to be, it should have existed before everything existed.

Let's go back to the source: we are human beings, and human beings can continue their existence through reproduction. But! As individuals, we are all going to die. So! Here's the problem! What will become of us when we die?

When a person dies, the body decomposes. No! When a person dies, he first becomes a corpse. And then! before rotting. What has become of man when he has rotted? It should not just become soil, it will also become the nourishment of the plant, which will be continued in the plant. After death, a person may also become a wild animal and other small animals, as well as an unseen small animal to eat. And then! and it is continued by wild beasts and small animals......

Right now! Let's go back and think about whether man is a container. It seems that there are many, many things in it, and they are inexhaustible! Man is like a container that can hold many, many things, and still not enough?

This is the Word!

The changes of the Tao are endless!

In the sixth chapter, Lao Tzu continues to preach about changes and evolutions.

The original text of the sixth article:

The god of grains is immortal, it is called Xuanqi. The gate of Xuanqi is the root of heaven and earth. If the silk system exists, it is not used diligently.

The Tao, like Ceres, is eternal! It is the root of all things! The changes of all things are endless! The changes of all things are like the genitals of the mother, giving birth to new things, and they are endless! Therefore, the Tao is the foundation of all things! It is the root of heaven and earth! It is the root of all things! It's endless, endless!

In fact! This one is repetitive. But! In order for us to understand the Tao, Lao Tzu had to repeat it repeatedly.

In the fourteenth chapter, Lao Tzu mentions the Tao again.

The fourteenth original text:

Blind to it, the name is Yi; If you don't hear it, your name is Xi; I can't fight, and the name is small. These three cannot be interrogated, so they are mixed into one. There is no darkness on the top, and there is no ambiguity on the bottom. The rope is indescribable, and it returns to things. It is said to be formless, the image of nothing, and it is said to be trance. The first one is missing, and then the one is gone. The way of the ancients is to keep the present. Being able to know the beginning of the ancient times is the Taoist era.

The meaning of this passage is: I can't see the specific source of the Word, because of the longevity of the Word! I can't hear the voice of the Word, because the Word is silent! I can't touch it because the Tao is everywhere. Let's not ask about these three, they are all characteristics of the Tao!

The Tao is such an east, and its source is not so bright and clear; Nor does its future look bleak, nor does it know what it will be; It is endless and indescribable, take things as an example, and you will find that things change unconsciously! This is the Word. This is a shapeless shape, the image of the object is not seen, and it is called "trance". Facing it, you can't see its head; With it, you can't see behind it.

According to the specific things now, we can trace back to the roots, and we can understand what it was like before! According to the previous concrete things, observe their development trajectory, and we will find the final result! Take history as a mirror, grasp the "Tao" that has existed for a long time, and control the concrete things of the present. Be able to understand the primordial nature of the universe, the law of the Tao.

Article 21 Original Text:

The face of Confucius, but the way is to follow.

The Tao is a thing, but it is in a trance. In a trance, there is an elephant in it; In a trance, there is something in it.

Slim and dark, there is essence in it; Its essence is true, and in it is faith.

From now upon and from ancient times, its name has not been left to read the public. How do I know the state of the people? In this way.

This article is about:

Those who are the most moral and respectable are all people who have attained the Tao, and their rules of survival and the way to deal with the world are all to follow the Tao!

What is the Tao? As I said earlier, it looks like it's in a trance. Although it is in a trance, there is an image in it, and there are things in it. Let's say! The history of the past, it is real, it is the appearance of the Tao! There is something in it, which is what we see with our eyes!

It's too far away to peek into its entirety, but! It still retains the essence of it. Let's get a glimpse of its essence! What is this essence? It's history! It is the memory and impression left to us! We can follow these traces of the Word!

Therefore, according to what we have seen in reality, according to memory, according to history, we will pursue further, to know the Tao, to know more! This is how the Word endures! Trace the source of things, sort out the ins and outs of things, so that you can see the essence of things! That's how I came to know the Word!

Article 25 original text:

There is a mixture of things, born from nature. Lonely, independent and unchanging, circumferential and not dying, can be the mother of heaven and earth. I don't know its name, the strong word is called the way, and the strong name is big. The big is gone, the past is far away, and the far is reversed.

Therefore, the road is big, the sky is big, the earth is big, and the people are big. There are four major domains, and people live in one of them.

Man is the law of the earth, the earth is the law of the sky, the heaven is the law, and the Tao is the nature.

This one is preaching again:

There is something chaotic that existed before the heavens and the earth. It has no sound or form, it has always been the same way, it has been circulating all the time, and everything in heaven and earth comes from it. I didn't know what it was, so I reluctantly gave it a name "Dao" and reluctantly named it "Da". It is vast and boundless, ubiquitous since ancient times and today, running more than once, and repeating itself.

So say big! The sky is big, the earth is big, and the people are big! In this space, there are four major ones: Tao, Heaven, Earth, and Man, and man is one of them!

Why is man one of the greatest? It's because of the wisdom of man! Human agency, human beings are an intelligent species. Man can emulate the laws of heaven and earth, nature, and Tao. The first thing man imitated was the earth, which gave him the foundation of his existence. Follow the laws of survival of all things on earth. The earth imitates the heavens, and the heavens follow the Word! What about the Tao? Taoism is natural! That's how naturally the Tao exists!

It is also mentioned that the Tao begets one, one begets two, two begets three, and three begets all things. All things are negative yin and embrace yang, and they are impulsive and peaceful.

What does this mean?

All things come from the Tao. Through the evolution of the Tao, a certain thing is produced, and then another thing evolves from this thing. From the original one, it has evolved into two! Or evolve from these two to a new one, so that it becomes three!

That's how everything evolves and evolves. Everything has its own unique aspect that distinguishes it from others. They contain yin and yang, both positive and negative! Yin and Yang combine to form a whole.

And also! the movement of the opposite; The use of the weak way. Everything in the world is born from being, and some are born from nothing.

This passage is also from the Book of Virtues, which means: Repeated cycles and never-ending, which are the characteristics of the "Tao". The transformation from weak and inconspicuous to strong is accomplished under the function of "Tao".

The origin of all things in the world is like this! It's all evolved and evolved from a specific thing! So? How did a specific thing come about? They are also an evolution from a specific thing from the previous one!

There are other places in the Harmony that also speak of the Tao, and I will not list them all. Lao Tzu reminds us everywhere in the Tao Te Verse that the purpose is not only to interpret the Tao, but also to use, to teach us to imitate the Tao.

Man is the law of the earth, the earth is the law of the sky, the heaven is the law, and the Tao is the nature.

The ultimate purpose of Lao Tzu's sermon is to teach us to establish a correct outlook on life, the world, and the universe, establish a correct philosophical thought, and guide us to live a healthy life.

The way of thinking used by Lao Tzu is the method of "analogical thinking". Before the pre-Qin period, the way of thinking of logical reasoning was not yet mature, and most of the wise men used analogical thinking. And it is this way of thinking that is used in this book.
