He is Huineng.

Huineng (638~713 AD, also known as Huineng), was a famous Buddhist reformer in the Tang Dynasty, the de facto founder of Chinese Zen Buddhism, and one of the few great thinkers in the history of our country. He was born in poverty, but at the age of 24, as a practitioner, he achieved Buddhism, was hunted down and killed, and was forced to remain incognito for more than ten years......

Zhenjiang Jinshan Temple abbot Xiangqi Zen Master stretched out two fingers: "No more, no less, two boats." ”

The emperor asked: "At a glance, there are more than a hundred or thousands of river boats!" How can it be said that there are only two? ”

"One comes for the name, and the other goes for the sake of profit." Zen Master Xiangqi said.

The emperor inspected the Tianning Temple in Changzhou, and the abbot opened his eyes to the Zen master and said, "Let's greet the holy car with sitting meditation." ”

Because when the monks are sitting in the meditation hall, no one is allowed to disturb them, including the emperor.

The emperor knew that the Zen master of the eye was an enlightened patriarch, and he wanted to make him a national teacher. The Zen master smiled, crossed his legs, closed his eyes - he passed away.

This is Zen, the wisdom of Zen, the attitude of the Zen person, and the demeanor of the Zen person.

Zen Buddhism, with Huineng as the founding patriarch, sprung up in the Tang Dynasty, which made major changes in the entire oriental cultural pattern, and all levels and fields were affected and infiltrated by it. Painting contains Zen quality from high, Zen is a poet cutting jade knife. From poetry to painting, from music to sculpture, it is precisely because of the intervention of Zen that the volcanic eruption and the rise of the plateau in the art field have triggered a sudden change, thus reaching unprecedented heights.

It can be seen from this that Huineng has a great influence on the history of thought and culture, ancient and modern China and foreign countries.

Huineng has become a well-known grandmaster from a woodcutter to a well-known generation of grandmasters in history, and is called the "Jesus of the East" by Westerners, this unique historical phenomenon is very evocative!

According to various documents, Huineng heard a sentence in the "Diamond Sutra" that "should have no place to live and give birth to its heart" and became enlightened.

There is no doubt that the Sixth Ancestor Hui Neng is a genius, however, his talent and his thoughts are closely related to his special experience. He lost his father at the age of three, and he made a living by collecting firewood since he was a child, and it was the experience of suffering and the inspiration of nature that gave him the foundation to comprehend the Zen machine from life and the truth of the universe from natural phenomena.
