Chapter 445: Energy Storage (1)
On the construction site of the 90-kilometer-long artificial canal, construction machinery of different sizes and shapes brings infinite shock to people in the other world.
This infinitely powerful, invulnerable, and tireless "Iron Monster Army" is where manpower can compete.
It is no wonder that Huaxia has not recruited many troops now, but has only established a "police" team to maintain daily social order.
In front of such an army of steel monsters, which country's army can be his enemy.
It is no wonder that this Huaxia Kingdom was established at the intersection of the three kingdoms, and it forcibly carved out its own territory from the territory of the three kingdoms, and several surrounding countries did not even dare to put a fart.
This is the strength, and this is the confidence to ensure that no one in Huaxia dares to offend.
These machines are a deterrent to hostile people and forces.
In the eyes of those people who are engaged in canal excavation work, this is simply a fairy method, and they put things that they couldn't think of before in front of them at will.
The artificial canal and the earth and rocks excavated during the construction of the mountain gradually increased the topography of the Yunmengze area.
The slightly harder rocks encountered during the construction were mined by a large number of ordinary stonemasons to produce a large amount of stone for the construction of the embankment.
The stone used for the construction of the embankment does not need to be very smooth.
These stones are produced using traditional stone processing techniques, although the potholes on the surface of the stone do not look good.
However, when building a dike, these potholes can effectively increase its lateral frictional resistance, so as to improve the overall stability of the dikes and their ability to resist flooding, which is not available in the so-called standardized stone produced using cutting machines.
These stones are used in large quantities in the Yunmengze area, as well as in the construction of cities in the real world of Tuvalu.
A circular plantation in the Yunmengze water network has been transformed to build a modern biomass gasification power station.
The power station uses a large biomass gasifier to convert this straw into combustible gas, which then uses internal combustion power generation technology to generate electricity.
This power generation mode has many advantages, such as flexible layout, low investment, compact structure, reliable technology, low operating cost, significant economic benefits, simple operation and maintenance, and low requirements for gas quality.
The flexible performance of the internal combustion generator set can easily select the appropriate power generation output according to the power demand of Huaxia City.
Due to the previous use of gravity as energy storage and buffering in Huaxia, the energy storage density is small, and it cannot adapt to the development trend of the surge in electricity consumption in urban construction.
In order to find a suitable way to store energy on a large scale, Wei Minsheng organized some talents with excellent academic performance and work experience in Huaxia to conduct a large number of experiments in terms of flywheel, gravity, and air pressure.
In the end, it was decided to use air pressure to store energy, as it has the smallest footprint, high energy density, and makes it easy to start and stop the turbine unit for peak and valley shaving of the power output.
However, when choosing the air pressure storage method, Wei Minsheng found that almost all the high-pressure gas storage equipment in the real world is a metal container, and its cost is high.
If you want to reduce costs, you can't do it with the current processing capacity of another world.
However, Wei Minsheng has never been bound by the framework of reality, and the different social environments and human resources of the two worlds are destined to have different development directions.
In the real world, due to the restriction of land use rights, ordinary enterprises cannot change the nature of land use at will.
Therefore, the only way to meet the needs of society is to manufacture metal high-voltage equipment that is easy to move and transport.
Wei Minsheng has no concerns about this, since Huaxia City has a realistic demand for large-scale energy storage, and everyone has also experimented with a more ideal method, in the case of various conditions, it is bold to do it.
Under this guiding ideology, cylindrical deep pits with a diameter and depth of 50 meters were dug near the water network.
In order to prevent the surrounding soil and rock from collapsing, Wei Minsheng chose to pour reinforced concrete partitions layer by layer.
First, in the place where the deep pit is to be excavated, a trench one meter deep and fifty centimeters wide is dug, and then a steel mesh is woven in the trench.
Joints are left on top of the reinforcement mesh, which continue to extend upwards to form a cylindrical structure with a diameter of fifty meters.
While the concrete spacer was being poured continuously, tower cranes and small machinery were used to excavate the earth and rock in the spacer.
When the soil and rock in the spacer are hollowed out, the maintenance period of the spacer is basically sufficient.
After removing the earth and stone supported at the bottom of the spacer, the spacer of the cylindrical structure sinks under the action of gravity to prevent the collapse of the surrounding soil and rock from affecting the people and machinery working on it.
When the deep pit reaches the designed depth, the bottom and top of the cylindrical structure partition ring are sealed with reinforced concrete, and the corresponding pipe and valve switches are installed at appropriate positions to form a container of reinforced concrete structure.
At the top of the vessel, in addition to the basic pipes and valves, a high-pressure sealed door was designed that could only be opened inward.
In the absence of pressure difference between the inside and outside of the vessel, maintenance personnel carrying the oxygen supply equipment on their backs can easily enter and exit.
In order to improve the airtightness of the concrete container, Wei Minsheng's design team painted the inside of the container with a layer of flexible material that can easily plug the tiny gaps in the concrete structure.
In order to increase the pressure of the gas stored in the vessel, it can be achieved by increasing the external pressure of the vessel without changing the structural strength of the vessel itself.
That is, under ideal circumstances, in this large container built by Huaxia, a number of gradually smaller containers can be nested in layers.
Although the volume of the most central container is small, the pressure of the stored gas in it can reach several times the pressure in the outermost container, so as to achieve the purpose of storing more energy.
However, while this can significantly increase the density of energy storage, its complex structure makes it difficult to build.
Moreover, if only one of the nested multiple containers has a problem, breaking the original pressure balance, it can have a chain reaction and cause damage to multiple containers.
There is no shortage of land in Huaxia now, so this design scheme to increase the density of energy storage is not very cost-effective, it is better to repair several more of the same containers, and then use pipes to connect them.
These large pressure vessels, buried in the ground, do not cause much damage even if they go wrong, and their safety performance and internal capacity are much higher than those of metal pressure vessels that are placed in open areas.
