Chapter 933: Living Arhat

Back then, I had a master who took refuge, and he was a real arhat, but he had a very strange face.

His eyes were so big that he had to wear flat glasses to cover them. The nose is like a garlic head, the mouth is also very large, curved up to the cheeks, the ears are small like chess pieces, and the eyebrows are only two short spots black.

His appearance is like this, but we like to be close to him all the time, and we think he is very dignified.

He doesn't take a shower every day, he only wears the same jacket all year round, which is very dirty, but he never makes you feel unclean, and even the place where he lives has a fresh smell.

He still has lice on his body, and sometimes he moves when he sits, even if the lice bite him, but he will never reach out to catch it. A fellow practitioner saw a lice on his collar and grabbed it. He hurriedly told the classmate not to kill, and put the lice in the waistband of his pants. I've experienced this firsthand.

There are so many wonderful things about my master, he said that he spent more than two years from Sichuan to Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province to face the mountains. But when he arrived at Wutai Mountain, he took the wrong route to worship, he should have been on the front mountain, he actually went around to the back mountain to climb to the top, the slope was very steep, and he also worshipped all the way up.

The night before, the abbot of the temple on the top of the hill dreamed that Manjushri had told him that tomorrow morning a living arhat would come from the mountain and that he would be solemnly welcomed by the whole temple.

Early the next morning, the abbot led the monks of the whole temple to wait in robes, and he was greeted by him.

He was still inexplicable, and he refused to admit that he was a living Arhat when he died, but everyone still gathered around him to go to the lobby to fast. This is how he got his title of living arhat.

Earlier, he was in the Baoguang Temple of the CD and managed the thatched house for three years. The toilets of the past were not what they are like in modern times, and the thatched houses were really in the company of dung all day long.

In the past, under the jungle, Shangda Xie was not rubbed with straw paper, but scraped with bamboo chips.

The used bamboo chips are not thrown away, and hundreds of monks use them every day, so they put them into buckets after they have been used.

The person in charge of the thatched house should wash the used bamboo pieces every day, dry them and put them back in the thatched house. Every time he washed the bamboo, he scraped it on his face to see if it was smooth, for fear of scratching the monk's buttocks. This kind of cultivation of his is a true cultivation, where can we compare?

I have several masters like this, and another one wrote a "Huayan Sutra" with his tongue pricking blood, and he also wrapped two fingers in cloth and dipped them in oil and burned them to make offerings to the Buddha, becoming an eight-fingered Buddha.

Seeing such a monk, no matter how arrogant my knees were, I had to kneel, and I knelt down and took refuge in him regardless of whether he accepted it or not.

So you can't even take refuge, and you have to ask if you want to do it or not.

If you respect him, you will convert to him! This is your business, it's his business not to accept it, and he doesn't even have a little grandeur when he learns Buddhism!

The masters I introduced are not sick all year round, and although they look ugly, they are extremely solemn.

I don't wash my face, and my face is not dirty. Although there are lice on their bodies, we don't like them, and they are so cute. I have personally experienced that the solemnity of a practitioner's merits can affect the extent to which sentient beings perceive him.

"Show old sickness, and forever cut off the root of the disease, beyond the fear of death." It is not for you young people to imagine that people are pitiful: and it is not for you to imagine to be pitiful. Some Mahayana bodhisattvas manifest themselves as old illnesses as teachings.

The wise of the young man, who sees it, is able to raise awareness and at the same time has great compassion for the old and sick, and is able to take care of him with great love.

Actually, practicing the bodhisattva path can forever cut off the root of illness, and Vimala said in this sutra that he is sick, but in fact he is not sick, and he is saying the Dharma through illness. The Bodhisattva broke the root of the disease, survived the bitter sea of birth, old age, sickness and death, and showed the old disease just for the sake of edification. That's why I often remind my fellow Taoists that according to the Buddha's teachings, if you search through the twelve parts of the Three Tibets, if you really want to live and die, the only way to practice is the view of white bones and impurity.

"It shows that there is a wealth of life, and the constant view of impermanence is not greedy." What is Shisei? It's about doing all kinds of different businesses for life, that is, making a living. If you want to make a living, you have to enter the WTO, because only when you join the WTO can you make offerings to those who have been born and cultivated.

A person who practices the Bodhisattva path, although he does all the business in society and works hard to make money, he knows in his heart that everything is unreliable.

Money and assets only belong to me temporarily, after all, they are not mine, and when old age and illness come, there is no way, so "constant view of impermanence". Knowing this truth, although he is making a living, he is not greedy at all, and he has no desire to keep it for himself.
