Chapter 896: The Dharma is Phaseless
A Taoist friend came to me to discuss that he had been studying Buddhism for many years. He said that everything is right now, but he feels as if he can't let go, so he hasn't made much progress.
I said, "That's exactly what I'm talking about now, haven't you heard it just now?" Therefore, you must listen to the scriptures and use them in your heart, otherwise it will be in vain. ”
"There is no trade-off in the law", you feel that you must let go, and there is a trade-off, which is meant to be put down.
For example, if someone says that their heart cannot be ethereal, you are listening to me now. How else would you be able to listen, would you?
Originally, I didn't have to put it down, so I naturally put it down.
When you have a mind to let go, you have to make a choice, that is, you practice the Fa, you practice the Fa of birth and destruction, you practice the Dharma of giving off, and you also act in defilement, because you think that if you can't let go, you are polluted, and the Fa is not defiled, and your own nature is originally extinguished.
The Taoist friend asked, "So what should I do?" ”
I said, "That's it, there's no that, that's it." If you do get to this point, that's it, and that's pretty much it. ”
Therefore, most people practice with a heart of choice, either seeking purity or letting go.
Putting down is a name, you sit down and think I'm going to put down! Put it down! I can't put it down for a long time.
Because you have a desire to let go, and this thought is blocked, so there is a trade-off.
Then you ask, isn't it stupid for me to sit there like this?
Hey! I'm afraid you're not stupid, it's good to be stupid.
People in the world are too smart, so they find a lot of troubles, and they can't get it if they are really stupid.
That's why I say that this Taoist friend is a bodhisattva who has appeared to speak the Dharma, and we will take this opportunity to give you another passage from the Vimala Sutra.
"The name of the law has no phase, if you know each other, then you will seek the phase, not the law." The first truth, the true Dharma, is unphased.
I often say that it is the opposite of what ordinary people learn Buddhism with the intention of gaining something, and they want to get no results.
The so-called "phase" is a Buddhist term, and in today's words, ordinary people want to seek a realm, especially those who study Tantra.
There are people who are born with such personalities, and when they come to me, I say, "Don't talk to me, it's better to study tantra."
When he heard this, his eyes lit up and he asked me why.
I said, "Because your mind is full of mysticism."
Many people are curious, have mysterious concepts, meditate and cultivate the Tao to seek a realm, if there is no realm, but also complain about why there is no light, there is no this, there is no that.
He is seeking the Dharma of appearance, and the Dharma is non-aspect, not the realm.
There is a realm where there is pollution, and there are trade-offs.
Supreme Dafa is "the name of the law has no phase".
"If you know each other with each other", you think that the realm is the Dharma, "if it is, you will seek the appearance, not the Dharma." "That's wrong.
"The Dharma cannot be dwelled, but if you live in the Dharma, if you are, you will live in the Dharma, and you will not seek the Dharma." This is all the more important to pay attention to!
Just now I talked about the principle of non-appearance, you have studied the "Diamond Sutra", and there is a lot of talk about it, so I will not say more.
Now Zen Buddhism is very popular, everyone knows the story of the enlightenment of the six ancestors, he did not know a big word before he became a monk, and he realized when he heard others recite the "Diamond Sutra" in "should have no place to live and give birth to his heart".
Of course, when I met the five ancestors later, the so-called three watches entered the room, and I really realized it. Here the Vimala Sutra also says that "the Dharma cannot be dwelled."
At this point, I would like to tell you that the best way to study Buddhism now is to leave out the works of recent years, including mine.
It's not that these are completely wrong, but it's better to read the original scriptures.
This is not only the study of Buddhism, but also the study of other studies, one should also read the original texts.
After reading the original scriptures, you can "annotate the scriptures with the scriptures", and you will be able to integrate them. As we read, "The Dharma cannot be dwelted, but if you dwell in the Dharma, then you will live in the Dharma, and you will not seek the Dharma." ”
