With this in mind, we should reflect on ourselves, and the same is true of human beings, especially eating animals. Human behavior is not necessarily cuter than that of animals, and this reminds me of the mage in the eighteen Arhat caves in the mountains here, there is a big python under the cliff outside his cave, and he often accompanies the mage.
When the master said that when he first encountered this snake, he was very scared at first, and he wanted to run away, but then he thought that if the snake wanted to hurt him and eat him, he would give the snake to him.
The serpent swam over him but did not hurt him. In the future, when the mage meditates, he will also crawl over the mage, and he will be safe.
When I heard this, I said to the mage, "It's good that you didn't move, otherwise the snake would have bitten you." Moreover, if you have a peaceful mind at that time, if you move the killing intention, the animal instinct will sense it, and the killing intention of the other party will rise.
Therefore, human beings have animal nature, and the way of animal life lies in people, don't think too highly of yourself, sometimes you are not as good as animals. Friends who eat meat should pay attention, isn't what you are doing is cannibalism? Maybe you will eat the Bodhisattva meat, and if you think it is delicious, these accounts will be recorded. Therefore, the bodhisattva path is difficult to do, sometimes I really dare not read the classics, where can we be regarded as learning Buddhism? Even the mage I just talked about, if the python comes to lick you, will you be sure?
If we understand this truth, we will know that the true Mahayana path is to cultivate in the five turbid worlds and the five desires, and to cultivate in the face of reality. And in the face of reality, you don't even need to jump out, if you still want to jump, you are no longer a Mahayana Bodhisattva, and the Mahayana Bodhisattva sits in the five desires and turns it into a pure land.
"The lotus blossom born in the fire can be described as Xiyou, and you want to practice meditation, and the same is true of Xiyou." This is a follow-up to the above sentence, praising the Mahayana Bodhisattva's achievements in the practice of the five desires.
We can say with certainty that a true Mahayana bodhisattva will never be able to attain it if he does not cultivate in the Five Desires. The reason for this needs to be studied on a special topic, so we will not play it here. Some of you, or you may immediately think of the tantric two-body practice, but that's not it, it's just a practice in the lower realm of desire. There is also the cultivation of the high-level desire realm, cultivating to the point where desire can be transformed, and it is not separated from it, and when it is transformed, it is the lotus blossom born in the fire, which is the analogy of the Vimala Sutra.
What is the real clumsy fire that starts to be warm? It's the true fire of samadhi.
What is Real Fire? This requires a good sense of doctrine. "Lengyan Sutra" says: "Sexual fire vacuum, sexual emptiness and real fire." Pure and natural, surrounded by the Dharma realm. According to the hearts of all beings, you should know the amount...... "It has no fixed position, you must say that it is finished under the dantian." It is equivalent to that people often come to ask me about the qi pulse, and I am very annoyed, my body seems to be a leather bag, which is all open inside, and there are nine holes on the outside.
If you take a breath, can you say that the breath stops in the middle of the bag? Do you pump up the rubber ball, can you control the gas to stop only in the center of the ball? Can it be done? If you feel that the dantian is gathered together, I'm sorry, it is likely that there is bowel cancer! The same is true of samadhi fire, and fire is just an adjective. The more empty your mind is, the more the true fire of samadhi rises. How's it going? The cold and heat do not invade, and they are not afraid of the cold, and they are not afraid of the heat. It's true, it's the instinct of life, it's samadhi.
Real fire is different, is there a hot fire when the real fire is generated? Yes, you have enough concentration, and when you reach the four meditations and eight concentrations, when you reach that day, the karma with the world is exhausted, like some great arhats written in the scriptures, when you want to leave, you must initiate the samadhi true fire to burn your body. Why can't the Hereafter do it? This means that after the rise of Mahayana Buddhism, everyone did not work the four meditations and eight determinations, so the true fire of samadhi could not be ignited.
