Chapter 779: Three Grades
Then, Shi Ru emphasized that the eight words of merit and wisdom to cultivate one's mind seem easy, but it is really difficult to think about it. Be careful here! The focus of the Vimala Sutra on the path of Buddhism and Bodhisattva cultivation is pointed out by these eight words. Cultivation is the cultivation of merit and wisdom, that is, the cultivation of the mind. Merit is accumulated little by little, so to accumulate merit, one must do all good deeds in body, mouth, and mind at all times. Merit includes everything, and merit is necessary to be virtuous. Besides, even if you have done a meritorious service, if you feel a trace of arrogance because of it, this meritorious work will be gone. It's too difficult to accumulate merit, and I don't see anyone who can do it consistently.
When we study Buddhism, we talk about merit and merit achievement, but if there is no merit, is there a blessing? Wisdom is more difficult to cultivate, and if there is not enough wisdom, the mind will not be clear. How do you fix it? Relying on concentration and wisdom, not by meditation, the more you meditate, the more nonsense you become. To stop is to stop all delusional thoughts, stop at the highest goodness, think on pure thoughts, and then start to contemplate and study all the Buddhas, this is the principle of meditation and meditation, not to play with qi there! It is necessary to study more of the meditation of the "Treatise on the Land of the Yogis", and wisdom is to be learned and cultivated. When we study Buddhism, there are two great paths, one is to cultivate merit, do all good, and remove all evil; On the other hand, cultivate wisdom. Only when merit is perfect and wisdom is perfect, can we succeed.
Because of the results obtained from the achievement of merit and wisdom, the mind can be transformed into things, and the body's qi and veins will naturally change. There is a secret hidden in the scriptures here! Try it, if you do a great good deed, you don't need to meditate and your qi will change, and that's the truth, and you can see immediate results. How much cultivation there is, how much change will there be in the face, and it is not pleasant at all. People who cultivate good roots and good karma, even if they are not beautiful, will still make people feel cute and want to be close; Although you are good-looking but not popular, it is the result of not cultivating good karma, so you should reflect on yourself. Before you become a Buddha, you have to get married first, you are a person who is fully enlightened, and you can't save sentient beings, because the merit is not achieved, at best you are a Buddha.
The name is lofty, standing in Sumeru, at this time it is not just a small reputation in the world, but because of the achievement of wisdom and merit, it can be famous in the Three Realms. For example, the sages of the past dynasties, their achievements, merits, and deeds will be passed down forever, transcending the Three Realms, not affected by the time of the times, and their nobility and greatness have surpassed Mount Meru.
We believe that we believe in the Dharma, but in fact it is unreliable, and most of us are superstitious, which is not a true belief. For example, when it comes to emptiness, it is true belief to have true proof of emptiness, and with empirical evidence. This is not enough, but also to be convinced, for example, the Zen patriarch said that it is necessary to realize the situation of 36 times and countless times. However, even if one is convinced that the ten beliefs, the ten dwellings, the ten elements, and the ten dedications are still not strong, the practitioner will still retreat, because the view of the ground is biased, and the merits are not perfect, which will cause retreat. Only when you are convinced of firmness will you not retreat, and you will be called like King Kong.
The preface of the Vimala Sutra describes the state of admiring Buddhahood, that is, it represents the realm of learning Buddhism to be attained, which is also the land of Buddha. In terms of the cause of practice, it is called the realm; In terms of the fruits of practice, it is called Buddha land.
The magic weapon shines through, and the rain and nectar describe the magic weapon of liberation and achievement in the world, and the clouds and rain benefit all sentient beings.
In the voice of the people, the subtlety is the first, and the voice that is made can make people benefit, which is the most subtle realm. The Buddha said in one tone, and all living beings have their own understanding. Many scriptures praise the sound method, sentient beings have pure hearts, and only when they are able to think and cultivate can they sense the subtlety of the bodhisattva's words. This is the principle of believing, understanding, acting, and witnessing. The solution here is different from the understanding of learning in the world, which is to have the cause of stopping contemplation, to obtain the fruit of wisdom, and naturally to hear the voice of the bodhisattva, subtlety first. The truth of this must be experienced from the Guanyin Method, and it must be able to return to hearing and hearing one's own nature, and one's nature must become the supreme way. Whoever can hear the subtlety of the bodhisattva's voice will become a pure sound even if he listens to all the noises in the world: otherwise, even a pine wind or a babbling stream will become the sound of trouble.
