Chapter 778: Second Rank (II)

Buddhism talks about recitation everywhere, for example, the first of the 37 Bodhi Taoist products talks about the four thoughts of dwelling, and then the Pure Land talks about chanting the Buddha, so we must have a correct understanding of the recitation. Reading is a conscious thought, not a thought with the mouth. The mindfulness of the bodhisattva realm is not the cessation of thoughts, but the absence of thinking about distinctions, and the thoughts of always dwelling in purity and freedom, and always in concentration. Meditation is not the same as meditation, meditation is just a method of initial practice. Only after the mind is pure, can we make up our minds.

Why can't ordinary people practice meditation be determined? Because first, there is no correct understanding of thoughts: second: thoughts cannot be determined, pure thoughts cannot be recognized, so miscellaneous thoughts are scattered. Reflect on yourself, when you can't sit still, is it the body that can't sit still, or the mind that can't sit still? You think it's because the body can't stand up, but in the end, the mind can't sit still, it's a matter of reading. If you don't believe it, if you point a sword at you, if you can't sit still, I will kill you, and you will be guaranteed to sit still.

Therefore, it is necessary to have a pure mind before we can always hold the Dharma, which is the dharani mentioned in Tantra: always the meaning of "all", and holding is "keeping". The first one is to hear the general holder, and he will not forget what he has heard, what he has seen and heard, such as Ayana who holds the Dharma, and he memorizes the twelve classics of the Three Tibets, and then writes them out. Listening to the scriptures in class often forgets after listening to them, which means that they do not know how to read, concentrate, and always hold, and they are still reckless in cultivating ten thousand eons. Only one day can we never forget, and we will remember it well, because we have cultivated in our past lives and will have some achievements. If you just have a mouth and no heart when reciting the scriptures, you are deceiving yourself and others, and you have no merit at all. When reciting with your mouth, you should also pay attention to the scriptures, and if you recite it once, you will be proficient in reciting it once, which is its practice. The second general holding is the general holding of knowledge, and what is known is not forgotten. The third is that if you encounter any problems, you will solve them thoroughly. Only in this way can we attain the Dharma of Enlightenment: the world's emergence from the world, Mahayana and Hinayana teachings, and the Sutra and Esoteric Teachings are all accomplished, and only then can we be regarded as always holding the Dharma.

Such an unhindered debate is not a strong debate, because the knowledge and wisdom of all the worlds that come out of the world are thorough, and the wisdom is like a pearl walking on a plate, and the spiritual light shines brightly, so that the Dharma and the Dharma can be continued. Bodhisattvas must have mindfulness, concentration, and general holding, and can only be able to argue without hindrance when they have cultivated to a distant place.

"Generosity, vows, forbearance, diligence, meditation, wisdom and convenience, all of which are sufficient," everyone seems to know these six paramitas, but how much has they really achieved? If you don't even want to help others, you don't need to study Buddhism. Buddhism talks about vows and deeds, and many people are fine when they first start to learn Buddhism, but after a long time, even the shadow of being a human being is gone, which is sad. Regardless of which of the six realms is attained, the other disciplines will also be connected, and the true attainments will become powers, such as the power of giving, the power of keeping vows, the power of forbearance, and so on. Studying Buddhism, meditating, reciting and worshipping the Buddha has not been achieved, because it is unable to form strength, in other words, the mental power of the good thoughts of practice has not been formed, and it is also drawn by the karmic habits of all kinds of good and evil in this life or past lives at any time. A bodhisattva who has attained spiritual attainment, because he has the power of convenience, can practice the six perfections anytime and anywhere, but he does not show it on the outside, and this is the power of convenience. Therefore, the bodhisattva's ability to attain the six perfections and attain the convenience of attainment is all sufficient, and there is nothing that is not fully possessed.

Bodhisattvas above the seven places have no function, they are not practicing all the time, they don't need to do special practice such as meditating and reciting Buddha, this is to catch nothing, there is no way to endure, to be born without being born, and to be born without being born. All troubles and delusions are cut off and not born, as if they are cut off and endured, so it is called not forbearable, and all delusions are not born and are cut off. When you reach the realm of lifeless forbearance, you are not rigidly fixed there.

These bodhisattvas are good at explaining all the worldly appearances and can answer all the questions of people. Note that the Dharma here not only refers to the knowledge of consciousness, but also to be able to know that the root organs of sentient beings are different, and that it is impossible for people to transform their innate root organs without the accumulation of merits and virtues of great cultivators, which is a matter of karma and retribution.

Cover all sentient beings, be fearless, and not be timid. First, the law is all-permeable and fearless. Second, if you say it, you can do it, and you are also fearless. Ordinary people shirk when they encounter trouble, because they are afraid of this, and they are afraid of that.
