Chapter 1003 Bigu Rest Grain

Once upon a time, there was a very famous monk who practiced Bigu until his stomach bleed, and finally his blood was poisoned, and the poison went to his leg, and that leg had to be cut off and he became a cripple.

The stomach is a hanging bag, it will squirm to digest food, if the stomach is empty, it will still squirm, as a result, the lining of the stomach rubs against each other, and it grinds blood.

When you are settled, your heart beats and your stomach moves very slowly, and your stomach is inflated, and if it is not completely empty, you will not bleed.

Don't look at me sometimes learning from me without eating or sleeping, I can write articles without eating or sleeping, and I can scold people.

You've learned, I'll give you this position, and I'll give you nine kowtows, because I can go and rest. So don't mess around!

Life exists to eat, the Vimala Sutra now talks about eating, eating is a very important issue in practice, Taoism attaches great importance to "breaking grain and resting grain", that is, avoiding eating grains and other grains.

Zhang Liang of the early Han Dynasty assisted Han Gaozu to conquer the world, and after the matter was successful, he went to cultivate, according to historical records, he had reached the stage of Bigu, and finally Empress Lu forced him to eat well, so he died.

Many people who study Buddhism and monasticism want to skip meals, but most of them will have problems.

So we need to pay special attention to this passage.

Since the Tang and Song dynasties, Jingdang saw the name "Xiang Ji Kitchen" in the poems, and called the family kitchen, especially the kitchen on the temple, as Xiang Ji Kitchen.

The incense is the land of the incense Buddha of this scripture, it is the world above, and the world of the ten directions has its own Buddha land, and the land of the Buddha is above.

Now let's look back at a passage that Vimala said to Sariputta, "The Buddha said that there are eight liberations, and the benevolent ones are practiced. But if he desires to eat, and waits for a while, thou shalt not eat."

To study Buddhism is to learn liberation, and eating and drinking is also a kind of bondage. Theoretically speaking, our life functions are covered and covered by five categories, and the reason why we cannot attain enlightenment is because of these obscurations.

To be liberated, you have to be liberated from these. We students of Buddhism check for ourselves, how much has we been liberated in this regard?

I'm afraid it's difficult, and there are almost no half people who can get a little relief.

Great liberation is more difficult, and it is the so-called "eight liberations," also known as the "eight renunciations," and liberation is abandonment, which is contrary to the worldly law. The most basic thing to learn Buddhism is to attain the eight liberations, for example, the first thing to be liberated is the body, whether or not you can liberate the body.

Everyone meditated and recited the Buddha, and they made trouble on their bodies for a long time, and when they saw that they couldn't be liberated, they couldn't be liberated physically and mentally.

So Vimala said to Sariputta, you are the first disciple of the Buddha, and you are studying Buddhism in order to achieve the eight liberations. If you are a little late for a meal and haven't eaten yet, you can't stand it anymore, so why should you come to study the Dharma if you are mixed with the concept of eating with desire?

In other words, in our current words, Vimala is teaching Sariputta a lesson, and if you practice for half a day, you are cultivating something!

This is a serious curse. Confucius said, "Men and women eat and drink, and people's great desires are saved."

However, Vimo scolded and scolded, people always have guests when they come, and of course they have to invite these tens of thousands of people to dinner. At this point, Vimala said, "Wait a minute, I'll let you eat a meal you've never eaten before."
