Chapter 1021 - Shi Ru New Discovery
After Shi Ru finished speaking about Ananda White Buddha, Ru Torch's eyes wandered in the meditation hall, and suddenly stopped on Zhang Khan's face...... Then, rather proudly, he said, "In the previous paragraph, when I was studying Buddhist scriptures, I discovered a new concept, and each sutra has a sutra title......
"Oh......"
Shi Ruwang looked at the confused look on Zhang Khan's face, and after a little contemplation, he gave an example: For example, in the "Myoho-renge-kyo", each product also has a title, and if you connect each topic, it is all the Dharma. The Vimala Sutra says that the incense accumulation of Buddha products is a climax, and there are several climaxes in the whole sutra, so everyone must figure it out. Now it's about bodhisattva behavior, and it's about how the Mahayana bodhisattva path should be practiced. The sutra uses many stories, including metaphors, direct explanations, and questions and answers to illustrate the practice of the Dharma.
After Shakti finished talking about an example, he changed his mind and said that Vimala led the crowd to worship the Buddha:
It is said that the Buddha said the Dharma in the Anluo Tree Garden, and the place was suddenly extensive and strict, and all the congregations were made golden.
At this point, we have to remember that the Buddha started in the Anra Tree Garden, because the Vimal monk was sick, and the Buddha asked everyone to go to the doctor, and the story begins.
Now the Buddha is still waiting in the Nunna Tree Garden, and most of his fellow disciples have gone to see the Vimal monks.
At this time, the garden suddenly became larger, and it was extremely majestic, and everything glowed golden.
Ananda Buddha said: "World-honored one, what is the cause and circumstance that there is such a response, that it is suddenly broad and strict, and all the congregations are made golden? ”
Ananda felt strange and asked the Buddha, "Why is this place so auspicious?" ”
The Buddha said to Ananda: "It is Vimala Manjushri who respectfully surrounded the crowd and wanted to come, so he responded to this first." ”
The Buddha said, "This is because the Vimal monks and the people led by Manjushri are all coming here." We have to pay attention to this scene, which at that time also included the bodhisattvas from the country of the Buddha of Xiangji. ”
So, Vimalaya said that you can see the Buddha together and make offerings to the bodhisattvas.
Vimala said to Manjushri, "We should now go and worship the Buddha with all the Bodhisattvas here." ”
Manjushri said, "Wonderful! Okay! Now is the time. ”
Manjushri said, "Okay! Let's go! Now is the time. ”
Vimalaya is to hold the masses with divine power, and the master seat, placed in the right palm, to the Buddha's place.
To the ground, the head of the Buddha feet, the right side of the seven curtains, one heart palms, on one side.
At that time, so many bodhisattvas and those masters were used by Vimal monks to pass over with one end of their right hand.
We look at it and think it's a very strange myth, is there such a thing? Absolutely.
Why can't future generations achieve such supernatural powers in their cultivation? What does this mean?
It's a serious problem. After the death of the Buddha, the disciples of the Buddha in ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad, have not reached this state in their practice, what is the problem?
Let's not think it's impossible, just use it as a myth and erase it.
This question is related to bodhisattva behavior, and we will not draw conclusions, but I hope you will study it.
Vimala took everyone to Shakyamuni Buddha and kowtowed to the Buddha. The chief here is to bow down, and we also use the head of the letter to write a letter in the family, and write at the end of the letter, "Brother XX is the head", which is the same meaning as the head of the book.
When a monk writes to a family, it is a gassho, not a bow, but a bow.
After bowing to the Buddha, according to the most respectful courtesy in India, the Vimal monk circled the Buddha seven times to the right before standing with his palms folded to the side.
The etiquette recorded here is the same as that of the Central Plains, go to someone's house as a guest, salute first, and then take a step back yourself, and wait for the host to come and invite you further.
All its bodhisattvas are avoided, and the head of the Buddha is footed, and they also stand on one side around the seven curtains.
The great disciples, Buddha, Brahman, the Four Heavenly Kings, etc., also avoided their seats, and stood on one side with their heads and Buddha's feet.
All the bodhisattvas, great disciples, Shakti, Brahma, the Four Heavenly Kings and others who came with Vimala were brought from their seats, and they also got down from their seats and bowed to the Buddha in the same way, and then stood aside.
Therefore, the World-Honored One condoled with the Bodhisattvas in the same way, and each ordered them to sit again, that is, they were all taught.
After the Buddha finished the prostration, he comforted the public according to a certain etiquette, and asked everyone to sit down again and listen to the Buddha's teachings.
The crowd was seated, and the Buddha said to Sariputta: "Do you see that the Bodhisattva Master is free of divine power?" ”
When everyone was seated, the Buddha asked Sariputta, "This time I went to Vimala and saw with my own eyes the Mahayana Bodhisattva's ability to cultivate the power of freedom and supernatural powers, right?" ”
"Yes, I have seen it."
Sariputta replied, "Yes, I saw it myself." ”
"What do you mean?"
The Buddha asked him again, "Tell me why the Mahayana Bodhisattvas have such free divine powers." ”
"World-honored, I think it's incredible, it's not what it means, it's not measured."
Sariputta replied, "I have personally seen incredible divine powers, and there is no way to study and discuss them with the knowledge of the world's thoughts. ”
"Unintentionally, not measured", pay attention to these eight words, this is a point, this is not what we ordinary people can covet with our ideology, nor can we speculate on the scope of our knowledge.
