Chapter 1169: Two Branches of Chen Xue in the Northland
Chen Zhi said this, and then he really didn't put much energy into the change of power in the south, but only sent people to record the situation, while he invested in the improvement of the imperial examination and the system.
In the following two years, Chen Zhi devoted himself to this, on the one hand, he perfected the imperial examination system and formulated many subjects, although there were metaphysical Confucian classics, but also included the knowledge of other schools, the basis of which was several volumes of the "Great Canon", and even some of the principles of the Yin and Yang family were also used by him.
In this way, in the past two years, many people in this folk and Shilin had to study many books from Chen Zhi's hand for the imperial examination, and spent energy and delved into them.
Not only that, after two years of stability, all the internal and external forces around him were suppressed, and there was no constraint, which also allowed Chen Zhi to calmly dispatch various resources, so one after another ironworks rose from the ground, blast furnace technology changed with each passing day, and there were many water forging workshops to supplement, and it didn't take long for many new iron products to be born.
Along with it, there are many ancillary industries, some of which can benefit the livelihood of ordinary people, and they have been written into several books by Chen Zhi and compiled into the reference catalogue of the imperial examination books, so that many scholars have to try and experiment in person in order to improve the evaluation of the imperial examination.
This kind of advocacy became more and more popular after the second imperial examination was held, and after learning that the third imperial examination would be held as scheduled, it became more and more important.
Slowly, the books in these reference catalogues, with the attention of the imperial examination scholars, gradually spread out, and were known to many people outside the imperial examination, which immediately aroused a lot of noise.
In the final analysis, there are many of them that contradict and contradict the advocacy of Shilin in the past, and they cannot be admired, and there are many criticisms.
Behind this criticism, there are actually many forces behind it.
The combat power of the Youzhou Xuanjia Army is the best in the world, no one dares to touch the tiger's whiskers, but they will not give up their vigilance because of this, let alone be willing, now that they have a target, they naturally want to use this to make Chen's reputation stink, after all, according to their past experience, this person's reputation is very important.
It's a pity that they don't understand that the era of important fame was the time when the world was unified, relying on the Nine Grades of Officials Law as a scale, they could rank the level of people through evaluation, but now the situation is different.
The establishment and continuous improvement of the imperial examination system is actually gradually eroding the living space of the Nine Grades of Officials and Persons Law, and due to the division and weakness of the imperial court, the influence of the Nine Grades Law is gradually declining, and it is no longer the only choice.
It is because although within a certain range, the reputation of the Northland Chen family has declined, but it has not affected the yearning of the people of the world for the imperial examination, and even as time goes by, everyone is even more flocking.
Not only that, as the influence of those reference books gradually spilled over, many people studied them in order to criticize Chen, and slowly accumulated a group of people who devoted themselves to the study of Chen's works, and gradually formed a scale, and in order to deepen their understanding, they actually began to discuss with each other.
If it is placed in the peaceful days of unification, there will be a time when Xingtan talks about the Tao, and take out the matter of reading, criticizing, and reviewing Chen's works in a unified manner, but now because of the chaos everywhere, the north, the south, the east and the west, there is no such opportunity, which also makes the study of Chen's works show the distinction of regionalization, regionalization, fragmentation, and differentiation.
Most of the later history books refer to this period as the period of "the birth and gradual division of Chen Xue".
In the opinion of later researchers, there were six main branches of Chen Xue at this time, of which there were two of the most influential, both of which were in Youzhou.
One of them was called "Imperial Examination Chen Xue", and it was also the largest group at that time, and the main representatives were Chen Zi, Chen Zhu, and scholars Gao Qing and Liu Xiang.
Among them, the first two are members of the Chen clan, one is Chen Zhi's closest cronies and clansmen, who have been the chief examiner three times and have studied Chen Xue very deeply, and the other is Chen Zhi's own brother, who is also committed to the study of Chen Xue, and has participated in the imperial examination once, but has not been on the list.
As for Gao Qing and Liu Xiang, these two people are the first few batches of people on the list, the earliest qualified Jinshi, especially the latter later became Chen's in-laws, they are familiar with Chen Xue, which is a big advantage in itself, of course, they will not let go easily, and gradually developed into an authority for studying and interpreting Chen Xue.
It's just that this branch of Chen Xue, mainly biased towards the imperial examination, the use value is low, most of them involve theory, although the line is correct, but it is biased towards retreat, and it is not deep, and the great Confucians of later generations have many criticisms, and even in the movement of Chen Xue's new interpretation, it was criticized by Han Yu and others.
On the other hand, there is another Chen Xue in Youzhou, and the representative figures are Gao Ji, Sun Xiu, and later Wang Meng, the nephew of Wang Gou.
Most of these people are not from the imperial examination, and they have their own strengths, that Gao and Wang Meng are mostly soldiers, Gao and what they value is Chen Xuezhong's military thoughts, and put them into practice, and finally summed up a set of "Gao's Art of War", most of them are considered to be one of the main inheritors of Chen's military thoughts.
In contrast, Wang Meng did not have many works, but his half-master Zhang Bin had fifteen commentaries that were included in "The Essentials of Chen's Art of War", and some of his words and deeds were also summarized and regarded as another major successor of Chen's military method.
And Sun Xiunai was born in Taoism, improved the method of alchemy, and compiled the Taoist collection, but also invited Ge Hong to come to the north, and made many contributions to the introduction of Taoism from the upper class to the people.
It is also regarded as the main descendant of Chen Xue.
Unlike the two military heirs, most of Sun Xiu's works involve many alchemy and wangqi methods, which record many chemical phenomena and physical experiments, and have high scientific research value.
The inheritance of Chenxue in this branch of theirs is relatively mixed, but because when they were born, they were classified into one category as opposed to the imperial examination Chenxue, and it was called "Miscellaneous Chenxue".
These two sets of Chen Xue, originated in the three states of Beidi, and later gradually spread, becoming one of the foundations of Beidi Chen Xue, and slowly constituted several major schools, according to the region, can be mainly divided into Yanzhao School, Ludi School, and Central Plains Chen School.
The Central Plains Chen Xue was mainly inherited from the imperial examination Chen Xue, which became the guiding ideology of several later dynasties.
In addition to these two Chen Xue, the remaining one with the greatest influence is Jiangzuo Chen Xue.
However, unlike the development of Chenxue in the north, Jiangzuo Chenxue was born mainly for criticism and refutation, and it was many Confucians, celebrities, scholars, and even children of the family in Jiangnan who rose up in order to attack the fame of the Chen family, so for a long time, Chen Xue was mainly misinterpreted.
But with the Xuanjia expedition, this situation slowly changed, and Jiangnan Chen Xue began to change in a positive way, and slowly developed a set of systems.
