Chapter 899: Doing Buddha Deeds (2)

What shadow did someone see or hear...... And so on.

The few things mentioned here are parables, and there are ten kinds of metaphors commonly used in the Sutras, and there is no mention of things like blisters and plantains. In Esoteric Buddhism, there is a way to practice each of these things.

For example, in the mirror, what you see in the mirror is real or fake? In ancient Chinese rituals, when a woman is confined, a mirror is not allowed in the room.

The baby is prone to death if he sees too much in the mirror, because he thinks the body in the mirror is himself, so his consciousness runs into the mirror.

There are also babies who like to look at shiny things, he concentrates on looking at them, and after watching them for a long time, they become cross-eyed.

For example, the image of the mirror is fake, but there is a kind of cultivation that still relies on this cultivation.

However, you must know that practicing the Dharma is not the end of the Buddha's work, but only the method of the Buddha's work.

If you think one method is right and the other is wrong, that's wrong.

Everything is just convenience, just help, there is no one right way.

What is right? That's right, "It's unobtainable, it's as it was." "You said that these laws are not right or wrong.

What is wrong with this is also one's own subjective consciousness, which is inherently unreliable.

The Buddha often says that dream bubbles, water, moon and empty flowers, these are all things that do not exist, so everyone regards these as empty words, wrong! These are not to say empty, but to say that there is.

But it's very short-lived, it won't stay forever, and it will pass quickly.

So there is non-emptiness and non-existence, i.e., emptiness is existence.

"There are Buddhist things that are done in sound, language, and writing", and the Guanyin method is practiced with sound.

For example, the friend I just talked about heard the bell ringing in Emei Mountain, and the little monk chanted the Buddha, and when the karma was ripe, he became a monk, so the sound is also Buddhism.

Manjushri praised the Guanyin method in the Lengyan Sutra: "This is the true body of the teachings, and the purity is in the sound." ”

Why does he advocate using his ears to practice the Dharma?

There are many ways to practice the practical eyes, but the cultivation with the eyes is not complete.

In the case of the four directions, our eyes can only see one of the three parties of the four directions, and we can't see the back; The nose can only breathe, and the rest does not know; Only the sound can be heard in all directions, especially between people in this world, and they often rely on sound to express themselves, so it is easier to practice the Guanyin method.

Don't ignore the fact that Manjushri is very humble and he doesn't recommend his own method.

He represents intelligence and also represents words, so the Chinese translation of his name uses the word "Wen".

The name of Shakyamuni Buddha, Shakyamuni means to be able to endure, Muni is silence, and can endure silence combined, in Chinese culture is one word: "Wen".

Therefore, many Chinese Buddhist classics call him Shakyamuni Buddha.

We know that the Guanyin method is based on the scriptures and is recommended by Manjushri, but we don't study Manjushri's practice.

Therefore, some people learn Buddhism because they talk to people and are admonished, and some people learn Buddhism because the words of the Buddhist scriptures are good.

Some students here close their eyes when they listen to the sutras, meditate and listen at the same time, and their eyes do not look at the sutras in front of them, which is very bad.

When you study words, you must look at the words and see what others have said, so that you can really absorb them and remember them.

Words are a kind of prajna, and no one is truly enlightened and words are not good.

For example, the Sixth Patriarch originally couldn't read a single big character, but after enlightenment, he was able to preach the scriptures; He doesn't have to read it himself, he just asks people to read it to him, and he can explain it when he listens, and it's so clever, that is, because the words are like it.

But you are not the Sixth Patriarch, and I am not the Sixth Patriarch, so we still need to recognize words and do Buddhist things through words.
