You must know that Luo Conggang only told Jue Shi that his surname was Luo, and his home was thirty miles away from the monk's house, even if the monk was not dead and was found, he couldn't tell Luo Conggang's situation. In fact, it was that branch that was found to be in the dry well.

For this reason, this official pronounced the verdict: Jueshi lost his conscience, raped it unsuccessfully, killed a woman from a good family, the crime was extremely heinous, and he absconded in fear of the crime afterwards, and died in a well, which is also a retribution from heaven, and the Hebin County sent someone to burn the corpse, throw the ashes into the stinky ditch, and not be buried. All his property, worth 2,000 copper coins, was handed over to the Lin family as compensation.

Although Luo Conggang did not participate in the rape and murder case, he was careless in making friends and was unaware of Jueshi's evil deeds, so he should be punished and ordered to compensate the Lin family with 5,000 copper coins.
