Chapter 1: Awakening
The continents of Lafred and Akanster are separated by a vast ocean, which is known as the Sea of Storms because of the frequent storms that occur on that sea. In the westernmost part of the continent of Laffrey, there is a large piece of land jutting out of the Sea of Storms, and it is also the place where humans first landed on the continent of Laffrey - Cape Storm.
Humanity founded the first city, Lukan, on Cape Storm. More than 100 years later, the city of Lukan became independent and became the Duchy of Lukan, which later belonged to the Kingdom of Ataga. By now, the city of Lukan has been rarely mentioned, and is more often referred to as the Duchy of Lucan. Except, of course, for a part of the people.
In the quaint room, a well-proportioned middle-aged man was standing in front of the window with his hands in his hands, and the carved purple shirt wooden desk behind him was messily arranged with open books. Viewed from the window, it is a spectacular small city, almost all of which are minarets of varying heights, with strange violet tops, some of which are shrouded in a faint white mist.
What's even stranger is that in the distance is a blue ocean with fog floating on it. No, if you look closely, the ocean seems to be far below the city.
This is a city floating in the air, and the white "mist" is the clouds floating in the sky.
"Speaker, according to information from Lucan City, Vane was arrested and put in Casali's royal capital prison last night......" A young man in a short shirt stood five steps away from the purple-shirted wooden table, bowed his head, and his voice was as low as a mosquito humming. He looked to be less than thirty years old, and wore a triangular silver badge pinned to his chest, with three horns carved with leaves, the sun, and the moon.
The middle-aged man was still looking out the window, but there was a firelight beating between his slender fingers, making a "crackling" sound.
"But—" The young man shuddered at the sight of the fire like a mouse to a cat, and hastened to add, "They have been rescued last night and left Kasali on a cargo ship. ”
After hearing this, the fire on the tips of the middle-aged man's fingers disappeared.
"But......" The young man hesitated, gritted his teeth and continued: "The cargo ship lost course and sank in the sea north of Casali at about three o'clock in the morning. ”
The man in front of the window turned abruptly. I saw that his black half-length curly hair was casually draped behind his head, his thick black sword eyebrows were twisted together, and his black eyes showed a sharp gaze.
"That's what you're doing?!" the middle-aged man shouted, the fire between his fingers jumping rapidly.
"I'm sorry, Speaker. The young man lowered his head and did not dare to look at him.
"Hahaha, brother, don't embarrass the young man. A slightly old but hearty voice came in from the doorway.
"You go get busy first, I'll discuss something with the Speaker. The person said. The young man walked out of the room briskly, relieved.
......
"Ahem, cough, ahem......" On the deserted beach, a teenager who had passed out suddenly coughed up a few mouthfuls of water. A small crab walking slowly next to him was frightened and ran away with eight legs and as fast as he could.
The boy lying on the beach was Vane, and his consciousness slowly regained somewhat, but he felt as if his strength had been drained, and he didn't even have the strength to open his eyes.
I...... Wasn't he dead? The sound of "whooshing" and the cold touch of the waves rushing to his body made him confirm the fact that he was still alive. Vane's heart jumped fast, which meant that Felder and Elena might still be alive!
Vane opened his eyes, the bright sunlight narrowing his eyes into slits. He tried to move his hands and feet, and there didn't seem to be a big problem, and the sapphire staff was still tightly held in his right hand.
It's just that there seems to be something strange about it. By the way, where does this fishy smell come from?
Vane felt his strength regain somewhat, and he slowly sat up with his hands propped up. He finally knew where the disgusting smell was coming from, a slimy gelatinous liquid sticking to his body, giving off a disgusting smell.
Vane finally remembered the big mouth he saw when he sank into the sea, and the foul slime was ...... Thinking of this, Vane retched a few times and spat out some dirty water.
It should be noon and the sun is hanging high in the sky. The sun here is not as hot as Casali or as warm as Obojar, but simply bright.
Vane slowly stood up, uncomfortable with the sand and gravel on the ground and the crushed shells of dead shellfish. The body is fine, but the temperature here is only a little higher than Solson, and a gust of sea breeze blows Vane shivering unconsciously.
As far as the eye could see, there was a barren land, some blackened gravel, and a few small-leaved plants growing on the ground. Forests and mountains can be seen farther afield, and the coastline stretches out at both ends.
It wasn't supposed to be an island, at least not a small island, Vane thought to himself as he began to walk along the coast.
Within a few minutes, Vane noticed what appeared to be someone lying on the shore in front of him, and he quickened his pace and ran over.
The man was lying face down on the ground, his body fat, and his pants were half removed from his body, revealing layers of fat. It was the fat first mate on the "Kerry".
The fat first mate doesn't know life and death. Because of the things on the ship, Vane didn't want to care about him, but after thinking about it, he couldn't be a threat to himself now, and one more person could find the other person faster, so he kicked the pile of fat a few times.
"Hmm......" Not long after the fat first mate woke up, he turned over with great effort and opened his eyes.
"Ahh......h Is it a human or a ghost...... Don't come here, ship...... It's all the captain's idea......" the fat first mate shouted in alarm, his eyes widening a lot.
"I'm not dead yet. Vane looked at him and said coldly.
The fat first mate was stunned, rubbed his face, his expression was a little embarrassed, and then became excited: "I'm not dead?" and then laughed loudly, and the fat on his face trembled.
Vane resisted the disgust in his heart and said, "Clean up your body first." Let's split up and see if there are any others. With that, he continued to walk forward.
The beach was covered with thick sand and gravel that hurt your feet, some dry tree trunks lay across the shore, and fragments of ship wrecks could be seen from time to time.
After a long time without finding a single figure, Vane became a little restless. The hunger in his stomach kept coming, and he felt weak and his head was a little dizzy.
Vane was sure that it had been less than two hours since he woke up, but by this time it was slowly getting dark, and the distant scenery had become blurred.
It's foggy.
The fog is similar to the fog seen on the Kerry, though strangely uneven. A mist mixed with a thick fog looks eerie.
Just then, there was a scalp-tingling creak nearby, like the sound of bones rubbing against each other......
