When spring comes, so comes responsibility.

In order to show the people of the whole country that the state attaches great importance to agricultural production, regard grain and agriculture as the foundation of the country, and show a high degree of respect for agricultural labor, Liu Shen and I are going to go to the Qifeng Altar built in the fertile farmland on the outskirts of Yunjing, climb the high platform, and represent the men and women of the whole country to worship heaven and earth, and pray for a year of good weather and rain, abundant harvest, food and clothing for the people, and prosperity for the country. After praying, we will go down to the fields and demonstrate how to plough and sow spring grain seeds, cotton seeds, and castor beans, and plant mulberry trees on the hills of the fields and on the paths of the villages.

For the sake of the responsibility on my shoulders, I still had to put aside the dead silence and emptiness in my heart, and follow Liu Shen to the spring field, in a joyful atmosphere, to celebrate the arrival of spring, and to appreciate the vitality of the whole land.

Following Liu Shen's car, my phoenix chariot was also in the queue of chamberlains and guards, marching on the spring path, and the brilliant flowers blooming on both sides of the road made the vision that had been dull for a winter bright and vivid. I can't help but think of the situation when Xie Shuangcheng returned late at night to report the news, I rode in the same carriage with my uncle, and hurried to Huaizhou to visit you who suddenly fainted, remembered the situation when we met on the cliff during the Qingming Festival, remembered that we were on the way to Jinfeng Village, and galloped with horses, swept through the boundless sea of rape flowers, startled countless bees and butterflies, and remembered that before leaving Yantang Pass, you specially took me to the mountain to see the sea of azaleas, in the dense rain of bees flying all over the mountain, Show me what it means to have a peaceful and harmless heart.

Spring is still so magnificent and gorgeous, and the withering glory of the earth is still running in an orderly manner. The scenery outside, actually. And nothing has changed. What has changed is only the state of our hearts, and that's it.

In such a vast, continuous, and endless process of life and death, the gathering and dispersion between a woman and a man, life and death, are so insignificant. Like a drop in the ocean, it is too small in the eyes of the omnipotent creator. Only we see it bigger than the sky and wider than the earth, and only we think it is very important, and that's it.

Returning from the prayer altar to sacrifice to Shinong, because it will be late. In order to speed up the return to the palace, and also to allow me and the ladies in the palace to take advantage of this rare opportunity to enjoy more pleasant spring colors, our team took another road back to Yunjing. In the meantime, we passed by a hill.

Liu Shen's car came to a distant stop in front of him. Liu Shen got out of the car and stood on the side of the road waiting for my phoenix to come over.

I got off the phoenix, stood beside him, and asked him why he had stopped.

He said. At the current pace of travel, there is still plenty of time. I had time to get back to the palace before dark, there was a famous monument here, and he liked to travel alone before his marriage, and he wanted to take me to see it.

Hand in hand, we climbed to the top of the hill together.

At the top of the mountain, Liu Shen pointed out to me the ruins of a long-abandoned Zen temple.

Because of the age. All the main halls, side halls, monks' dormitories, and mountain gates have all collapsed, and the barren grass is overgrown, insects are flying, and birds and birds are everywhere.

Among the entire ruins, only a flat shale platform stands out very prominently.

Liu Shen told me that after escaping the pursuit with his mother and coming to Yunjing, he often came here alone, sat on this high platform, and thought about the future of life, the general trend of the world, and the future of the country, and at the same time, he looked into his own heart and reviewed the deficiency of virtue.

He said that the platform was once a place where a monk called Daosheng practiced. At that time, the Buddhist scriptures had just been transmitted from India, and the types of scriptures were few and the content was not complete, and there were still many controversies and differences among the monks on the various views on the Buddhist scriptures, but there was a lack of effective classics to corroborate.

One of the most famous controversies is whether human nature is good or evil. At that time, many famous monks in the northern region believed that those heinous butchers and thieves could not be good by nature. Only this Dao Sheng Master insisted that even if they were the most heinous enemies of humanity, their nature was still good.

Venerable Daosheng's views were rejected by the mainstream Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist academic circles, as he insisted on his own views and the classes he taught became crowded, so he was forced to leave the north and travel south in search of like-minded people.

Sleeping in the open and walking all the way, when he came to this hill, Master Daosheng sat down on the top of the hill to rest. In the face of the spring fields, in the face of the splendor of nature, and in the face of the indescribable beauty of nature, Master Dao Sheng firmly believes that all things have the nature of truth, goodness, and beauty.

So, facing the spring field, he began to expound his views on the high platform, eloquently speaking, and the Dharma sound was loud and solemn.

When Master Daosheng finished speaking, a miracle suddenly appeared, and a human-shaped boulder on the top of the hill that had been standing for thousands of years actually began to nod frequently like a human, and then the flowers and plants all over the mountain began to nod frequently in the warm spring breeze, as if the whole nature was saying to Master Daosheng, "Yes." You are right, all things have a heart for goodness, and goodness is the natural nature of all things. Yes, Master, our whole nature supports your comprehension with incomparable vividness and beauty. You have to be confident in this. ”

Later, as time went by, more and more Buddhist scriptures spread to the Han region of China, and these Buddhist scriptures were gradually translated, and the entire mainstream academic community discovered that the original Buddha's views in the scriptures were really the realization of Master Daosheng: all things have a heart for goodness, and perfection is the nature of nature.

In order to commemorate the miracle of Dharma transmission confirmed by the nodding of Master Daosheng and the whole natural world, later, people used this nodding stone to make a high platform, and built a temple on the hill to welcome monks, open up a dojo, preach the scriptures, educate people's hearts, and return to the original goodness.

After hundreds of years of vicissitudes, the former temple has collapsed and decayed, however, this memorial platform for the teachings of Master Daosheng is still intact.

Liu Shen said that every time he is here in the face of the vibrant wilderness, in the face of the vast expanse of the earth, when he meditates cross-legged alone, he will recall this historical story, and will strengthen his confidence in the heart that people's hearts are always good, and he will say to himself in his heart: Everyone has an inner conscience, and when they do bad things, they will have a sense of anxiety and shame in their hearts, and they know that they must avoid the eyes of the public and the scrutiny of others, and when everyone does good deeds, their hearts will naturally feel warm. The inexhaustible outpouring of joy and the willingness to reveal it to others is a clear proof of the existence of heavenly conscience and a manifestation of the inherent goodness of the human heart.

Liu Shen asked me, "Qin'er, do you believe what you said back then?" Would you also nod your head in approval of his insight into human nature? ”

I nodded. I said, "King Han, I believe it." I believe that human nature is good. They do evil because they have lost their original nature, and there is no one to inspire, guide and educate them to conform to their nature, instead of being confused by wrong ideas, coerced by bad habits, and controlled by improper desires. I believe that even the worst person has a soft and bright side in his heart. I believe that they can all turn back and get better. ”

Liu Shen held my hand tightly and said, "Thank you for being like-minded with me, Qin'er." ”

He said: "Because I believe that human nature is good, I do not believe that the war full of evil will continue forever, and there is a powerful force in the human heart that wants to return to peace, to return to stability, to end killing and destruction, to start building and multiplying." This power, like spring is bound to replace winter, is unstoppable. I believe that we will be able to shake off the bloody era of war and return to the peaceful peace of prosperity. I believe that Liu Shen is definitely not the only one who has such a strong desire and firm belief. I believe that sooner or later, all the people of the world will look forward to it and believe in it. This is the most indestructible foundation of the Taiping New Dynasty. ”

Liu Shen said: "The general and I both firmly believe that people's hearts are good and people's hearts are determined. We, like Gen-la Dao Sheng, are willing to persevere for this belief and prove it right with our lives. ”

I listened to Liu Shen's heartfelt words and felt deep respect and love for him.

I snuggled into his arms, and I said, "King Han, Taiping will definitely return to the world." No matter how difficult, painful, long, and tortuous your struggle is, Qin'er will always be with you.
