Chapter 914: KOOREX Heavy Truck Manufacturing

(a)

In my life as Esabelle Chen, there was one thing that puzzled me as a friend or foe alike.

Here's this: I've always been a disliked car and everything that has to do with it.

I was once commented on the cover of a well-known business weekly: "Esabelle Chen, known as a business wizard, may be the last person in the world who is unwilling to accept cars as a means of transportation." ”

Many of my friends jokingly refer to cars as "Esabelle's predators" when they talk about cars.

Many journalists have asked me this question: "Can you tell us why you don't like cars?" ”

My answer every time was, "Because cars are a barbaric and cruel thing." ”

When they ask me to interpret this sentence, I usually say, "It's just a woman's paranoia, which is the same as God's wrath, and it can't be traced to the cause." ”

Throughout my life, my dislike of cars was reflected in every aspect of my life.

My business investments have never been in automotive-related industries, I've never sponsored formula cars, and I don't even have a driver's license for a car.

As an adult, I was able to sail the Mediterranean in a speedboat and cross the Atlantic in a private airliner and helicopter, but I never drove a car.

I can't say I've never been in a car, and it's a last resort on all kinds of travel, but it's true that I've never driven my own car.

The villas I buy are usually in small, scenic and peaceful towns close to the coastline.

The reason I chose this location is that if I travel, I can take a boat or a helicopter. If you live there, you can take care of the daily traffic by horseback, bike, motorcycle, boat or on foot.

I later bought a white Spanish-style villa in Monaco, a tiny country on the Mediterranean coast, with a floor area of more than 2,500 square meters. The villa is located on a cliff facing the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa, and at night you can hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore under the cliff, and when you stand on the balcony, you can see a large number of independent villas along the uphill slope of the cliff, the tallest and most striking of which is a Byzantine style building, and its façade is also made of white stone.

I especially liked this villa in Monaco.

Every year I have a lot of time to live there.

Early in the morning, I would get up and run with my headphones on, through the royal garden with all kinds of African plants, and after a big circle, I would run back from another way back.

After showering, changing clothes and breakfast, I descended the steps to my private pier at the foot of the cliff, where I boarded my private speedboat, drove it to the big pier not far away, boarded my private seaplane, and flew to a small building in France, where I was working in Europe.

If I need to travel for business, my private jet usually lands at the airport in Nice, France, or Paris, where I take larger flights to other parts of the world.

When I arrive at the airport of my destination, a private helicopter will be waiting for me, and it will take me to the top of the office building of the local branch, from where I will go directly to the elevator for the board of directors to the office or conference room.

I love living and traveling without a car at all.

I have an innate aversion and fear of all kinds of cars, just as some humans are born with an aversion and fear of ugly, cold reptiles.

— and it's not because of motion sickness.

I knew in my heart that it was because of the memories of my previous life.

You end up being hit and crushed by a truck. I'll never forget.

- But how can such a thing be explained to people, and I can't produce evidence to prove its truth.

Therefore, the past can only be dealt with vaguely.

Even to my father and best friend, I didn't say the real reason.

People who have memories of past lives are usually very lonely in life.

The world is very different from each other's eyes, and as a result, there is a lack of common ground for in-depth communication.

One of my other important business decisions that was recognized as successful after entering the business world was the outright sale of the KOOREX heavy-duty truck brand and its related assets.

At the age of 31, I sold the brand to the French Renault Group for an astonishingly high price, thus freeing my family's business empire from its deep financial troubles, escaping the disadvantages of uncontrolled diversification and regaining its admirable competitiveness in the market.

MY FATHER'S BUSINESS EMPIRE STARTED WITH KOOREX.

At the age of 37, he successfully founded the heavy-duty truck manufacturing brand. By the time he was 47 years old, the brand had grown to become the world's third-largest heavy-duty truck manufacturer, with annual sales of more than 28,000 units.

KOOREX is known for its excellent design and precision manufacturing, and the quality of heavy-duty jobsite trucks is fully reflected in every detail: the front bumper of the brand's various series of trucks is made of steel, which is both strong and easy to repair. At the same time, the front bumper is a three-section type, and if any section is destroyed, the entire bumper does not have to be replaced. The headlights have a protective steel grille to prevent rocks from flying on the jobsite. Crash plates under the front of the radiator allow workers to drive on the job site with peace of mind.

KOOREX's cabs are all with a standard roof height (approx. 3,200 mm above the ground) and are available in a variety of options: a short cab, a long cab with a sleeper, and a "Comfort" cab (medium length). The cab is compact and has excellent endurance (in accordance with the strictest Swedish standards). High-performance corrosion protection provides long-lasting protection and is the result of the perfect combination of efficiency and comfort on site.

The brand's trucks are perfectly shaped, versatile, powerful, robust and have optimized technical solutions from the entire vehicle to the smallest parts. On any construction site, the long-haul truck is designed to deliver driving comfort while guaranteeing its productivity, reliability and longevity, with all the excellent qualities of a wheeled vehicle.

Because his father invested a lot of effort in this brand, even when diversification led to serious financial difficulties for the whole group, he has not been able to make up his mind to break his wrist.

In this matter, my opinion and influence played a key role.

With my patience and persuasion, my father and the board of directors finally agreed to give me full authority to deal with the current financial difficulties.

AS SOON AS I GOT THE AUTHORIZATION, I STARTED PLANNING TO SELL KOOREX.

I did it so quickly that my father didn't even have time to stop it.

When he called Vénissieux in France, the last letter of my name had just been signed for the acquisition contract with Renault.

My father asked me twice on the phone: "What?" Already sold? ”

I replied in the affirmative.

Then the father asked about the price of the sale.

After listening to the price, he only said: "I am old, my time has passed." Then he hung up the phone.

Since the sale of KOOREX, my family's group has never invested in any industry involving the heavy manufacturing of automobiles.

We have completely withdrawn from this market.

ON HIS FATHER'S SIDE, HE DID SO BECAUSE HE WAS SAD THAT KOOREX HAD FINALLY FALLEN INTO THE GRIP OF HIS OLD RIVAL FOR YEARS;

As for me, there are other reasons why I can't talk to people about my insistence on not entering the automobile-related industry.
