Chapter 809: Explaining Words

(a)

Fang Dafeng actually has another specialty, which is to disassemble Chinese characters. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info

Fang Dafeng said that China's traditional Chinese characters are an immeasurable treasure trove, and the original creators of Chinese characters are by no means ordinary mortals. Each Chinese character contains profound insights, including guidance and interpretation of the truth of life in the universe. It's just because it's so high that ordinary people can't understand it, so they take it lightly.

Fang Dafeng fiercely opposed the simplification of traditional Chinese characters, believing that it was a cultural atrocity of forgetting his ancestors. People who simplify Chinese characters, think they are knowledgeable and talented, and when they completely fail to understand the wisdom of their ancestors, they frivolously dismantle and slaughter Chinese characters by their own will, and destroy all the wisdom codes contained in them.

Fang Dafeng explained two classic Chinese characters for me.

The first is the word "think".

"Think" - this Chinese character is disassembled, it is "phase" + "heart".

It has two meanings at the same time: 1) the phenomenon in consciousness, and 2) the consciousness when it comes into contact with the phenomenon.

From the construction of this word, we can see that consciousness and phenomena are not two separate things. Whatever is conscious must be directed at a certain phenomenon. Whenever there is a phenomenon, it must be reflected in a certain consciousness. The two are one and are not separated, like the two sides of a copper coin, like the palm of the hand and the back of the hand.

Another Chinese character is "念".

"Thought" -- when disassembled, it is "today" and "heart." It means the heart at this moment.

The so-called "mindfulness" is the correct state of the mind at this moment.

Fang Dafeng said: Many words in Chinese have profound meanings and contain profound wisdom. Therefore, Zen Buddhism uses the method of referring to the head of the conversation, holding on to a Chinese word and contemplating it wholeheartedly.

Fong said: In English, sometimes when we say "I understand", we will use a common expression: "OH, ISEE!" The original meaning of "ISEE" is "I see".

The use of "seeing" to express "understanding" is itself implying that there is an unobstructed passage between "seeing" and "knowing". In other words: to be able to see is to know.

It is the statement of this sentence that shows the feasibility of the theory of meditation.

Meditation means that you can concentrate on something and then you can know it as it is. Use all the life energy as a searchlight, focus on something, and the true face of something will be revealed. This is the theoretical basis of meditation.

If we pass by with a vague mind, and never look at it properly, or even see it, we certainly can't know.

It's like our eyes are facing something, if we don't focus on it, we can't see what it looks like.

I was strongly attracted by his exposition.

Don't look at Fang Dafeng's secular identity as a charlatan, but I feel more and more that he is hidden in the city. In fact, he understands the truth in this world very clearly. It's just that his level of enlightenment is too high for us to understand for a while, so he shows a little bit of magic to attract us ordinary people to get close to him, and then look for opportunities to enlighten us and lead us to continue to explore deeply.

In short, during my relationship with him, he always had all kinds of amazing remarks and performances, which touched my heart deeply.

In the course of my relationship with Fang Dafeng, there was a concept that was overturned.

I used to think that things that represented the mysteries of the mind, such as astrology and various religions that Fang Dafeng was engaged in, were in opposition to science.

But the longer I dated Fong, the more I doubted the solidity of this antagonism.

In fact, I feel more and more strongly that these two opposites converge and merge with each other at their respective beginnings and ends.

It is not so much a process of fighting against each other as a process of verifying and verifying each other.

In the process of discussing the same proposition and obtaining the same answer through their respective solutions, the two sides question each other's mistakes, confirm each other's progress, and correct each other's deviations.

When Fang Dafeng was with his big scientist friends, I felt that they got along very well, and there was no intention of refuting each other's arguments.

At Fong's invitation, I also attended several barbecue conferences at his house.

After enjoying the food, everyone casually held the plate and scattered in twos and threes to chat.

I sat on the couch and participated in a conversation between some physicists and their wives.

A lady asked these physicists an interesting question: Why are all stars in the universe almost spheres? And the particles also have a spherical structure? Why are their orbits circular or elliptical?

Physicists began to analyze and explain scientifically, mentioning many concepts and formulas that I didn't understand. Some wives who are also scientists can't help but nod their heads in approval, and even insert into the conversation to express their opinions, but not these wives in the physics circle, who listen with their eyes wide open and their faces covered.

I listened for a while to the alien language they spoke, found a brief break in the conversation, and expressed my own superficial opinion.

I said, "It's not that complicated. ”

Everyone stopped, their eyes fixed on me.

I said, "The reason is simple. Because our human eyeballs are spherical, the structure of our eyes is either round or oval. ”

I said, "It's like when you put on your sunglasses and the whole world turns black." ”

I said, "How have we ever seen real stars and motes?" We only see our own eyeballs. We only see the spherical sunglasses that we were born with, and we have never taken off, and we can't take them off. ”

I said, "If a baby wears sunglasses from birth and never takes them off, then he must think that this bright world is so dark." It's hard for him to realize, and it's hard for him to accept, that the world isn't what he sees. ”

For a moment, there was silence all around.

I felt a little uneasy. As a young tooth in physics, a magazine editor with only high school physics knowledge, is it too abrupt for me to speak rashly in front of these big names in the scientific community? I can't even memorize pi beyond the 20th digit......

Just when I was nervous, the scientists burst into laughter.

A scientist named Elijah stood up and greeted me with a smile.

He said, "This is the legendary wisdom of the East." ”

He raised his glass and said to me, "Cheers to beauty and wisdom!" ”

Led by him, the men around raised their glasses and said, "Cheers to the beauty and wisdom of the East!" ”
