Chapter 456: Qingxiang Fachang
(a)
Pushing open a door, I followed the Grand Lama into a large study.
The four walls of the room are filled with bookshelves.
On the shelves, there are many stacks of thread-bound books carefully wrapped in bright yellow silk cloth.
I asked, "What is this place?" ”
Grand Lama Tubudan said to me, "Queen, please look up and see the plaque hanging in the middle of this room. ”
I looked up, in the middle of the room, hanging a plaque with gold characters on a black background, on which the three big characters of "Tibetan Scripture Pavilion" were originally the place where the Buddhist scriptures were stored, but the three big characters inscribed were the handwriting of Liu Shen's father and my father-in-law, the old Han Wang......
Grand Lama Tubudan said, "Queen, this is the medicine number. A super big medicine number. The panacea for all the physical and mental pain in the world, as well as the prescription for it, are all stored here. There are 84,000 physical and mental sufferings in the world, and there are 84,000 corresponding treatments. ”
I said, "What's in these yellow silk boxes?" Are they all scriptures? ”
Grand Lama Tubudan nodded and said, "Yes." This is the sum total of all the Buddhist scriptures, called the Tripitaka. The queen can also be understood as the "Thousand Golden Prescriptions" of Buddhism, which is a collection of prescriptions for curing physical and mental pain. A variety of prescriptions are used to treat a wide variety of physical and mental sufferings of different types, degrees and symptoms. ”
I looked at the golden scrolls in the room, as if I had been sick for a long time and hoped for a good doctor, and I was immediately touched by the deep pain in my heart, and I couldn't help but feel tears in my eyes, and I couldn't help but feel great respect in my heart.
I said, "Can the faithful woman beg for a look?" May I ask for it respectfully. ”
I knelt down reverently, and on the prayer mat in the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion, I sincerely bowed to the voluminous volume of the Tripitaka.
I prayed: "The believer Chen Qin'er sincerely bows, and wishes to beg for the relief of all the sufferings of life and death, all the terrible pain of dying, and may obtain a Dharma to alleviate the common suffering of hundreds of millions of living beings for thousands of years." ”
I said, "Chen Qin'er, a believer, would like to receive this method, as a good doctor, to save the dying, to heal the pain, so that the sorrow of the believer today, the helplessness of the moment, will never appear again in the body and mind of any living being in endless time and space." ”
When the Grand Lama Tubudan heard this, he couldn't help but admire: "Amitabha, the old man is very impressed by the boundless and endless wish of the Queen Suixi. ”
He said, "Good, good." Jingyun, such as the sea, one person fights, after several catastrophes, can still be poor, people have the heart to improve, seek more than the Tao, will be a fruit, why not? The queen has this great wish and will get her wish in the future. ”
(b)
I said, "Shall a believer, then, pray for access to these scriptures?" With so many scriptures, which one should a believer begin with? ”
Grand Lama Tubudan said: "Although the queen has a firm ambition, she cannot go deep into the scriptures and do not do it arbitrarily. Just like a person who has never gone out on an expedition alone, and now wants to enter the inaccessible deep mountains and old forests, the safest and most effective way is not to blindly wander around with his own bravery, but to ask a guide who is familiar with the local environment and the roads in the dense forest. ”
He said, "The same is true of reading the scriptures, which requires the guidance of a Master who is familiar with the scriptures. ”
He said: "For example, in the future, when the son grows up and is enlightened, in order to make the learning effect better, the study must not let the prince read the Four Books and the Five Classics alone, and must arrange for the Taifu who is familiar with the meaning of the scriptures to explain it word by word. If the prince is allowed to read as he pleases, he must read without understanding, and there are many fallacies. ”
Grand Lama Tubudan said, "If the queen wants to read the Dharma, she must first seek the guidance of the Master. The so-called Master refers to a person who understands people and is good enough to be a teacher for future generations, not a famous person who has an empty name. ”
I said, "Can the Grand Master recommend a person who understands the Dharma in the capital city and is convenient for the believers to seek the Dharma and listen to the teachings, as the teachers who guide the believers to move forward?" ”
Grand Lama Tubudan said: "The Empress went to Fashan Monastery to hold a childbirth prayer ceremony, and the abbot of Fashan Monastery, Master Lotus, is a Master who is good at saying the Dharma. ”
I nodded and thanked, "Master Xie's guidance, the believer remembers." ”
I also asked, "The scriptures are like the sea, vast and boundless, and then ask the Master for guidance, where should I start to seek the Dharma at the level of a believer?" ”
Grand Lama Tubudan replied: "Today's healers study Sun Simiao's "Thousand Golden Prescriptions", and before studying, they must first understand the person of Sun Simiao, the king of medicine, what kind of person he is, what kind of things he has experienced, why he wrote "Thousand Golden Prescriptions", how he obtained these prescriptions, and how many hardships and constant verification there have been during this period. Beginner doctors must first have a very good understanding of Sun Simiao, and a high degree of recognition, in order to confidently learn the salvation prescription he left behind, to understand his compassion and to help the world, and to truly take him as an example of his own medical practice. ”
He said: "The same is true of studying the scriptures. Before studying, the queen should first understand the Buddha as a person. Only by understanding this person can we understand his enlightenment and edification of sentient beings. ”
He said, "Shakyamuni Buddha, the root guru of Buddhism, is not a high-minded and powerful deity. He is a real person in history, he is a prince of the Western Tianzhu Kingdom, noble-born, intelligent, all-rounded, handsome, married to a beautiful concubine, and has a healthy and lovely little prince. ”
"However, because he was very intelligent, he was very keenly aware that even if he had supreme royal power, he could not protect himself, his wife and children, his parents, his relatives, and his countrymen from the crushing of birth, old age, sickness and death."
"Therefore, he resolutely decided to give up his personal glory and wealth, and to give up his own happy life, to find a power greater than the king's royal power, and to free all life from the pain of life and death, and the suffering of troubles, which are common to all life."
"Against the wishes of his old father, he left behind his wife and son, and in the middle of the night, rode a white horse, jumped out of the city, entered the forest, took off his fine clothes, became a monk, and embarked on the arduous road of seeking the fundamental way of happiness and happiness for all life."
After all kinds of hardships and hardships, he finally found this way, this path at the age of 37. He himself arrived on the other side of complete bliss, and then, as a person who came before, he taught his discoveries, his verifications, his practical methods, and the paths he traveled to those who came after him. ”
"Since then, he has taken the education of the happiness of life as his profession, marching all over Tianzhu, widely preaching the Dharma, and leading the Sangha for decades, sleeping in the open air, and educating the people."
He said: "This whole Tripitaka is the Buddha's teachings, the lecture notes of his lectures, and the commentaries and explanations of the lecture notes by the great disciples. ”
Grand Lama Tubudan said: "If the queen wants to start studying Buddhism, she must start by reading the scriptures such as the Buddha and the Bunsen Sutra that tell the life of the Buddha. Learning starts with getting to know the teacher. ”

At night, Liu Shen and I stayed in the monastery.
Although it was the height of summer, the deep mountains at night were also quite cool, so Liu Shen chose to live in the greenhouse built by the old Han King of Yuanjue Temple again.
But because I was afraid that I would be shocked, Liu Shenling closed the conservatory where you lived before, and both of us lived in the conservatory where I once lived.
After the lantern was held, we sat on the warm couch and talked about our respective activities during the day.
Liu Shen said: "Qin'er, are you okay?" ”
I said, "It's all right." Xie Han Wang cares. ”
Liu Shen said: "Originally, I didn't want to bring you here. It's just that, since it is a national sacrifice, these ritual procedures, our identity is like this, and we have to go through this trip in person. Although all kinds of relics from the past leave traces, all of which make you feel emotional and increase sorrow, but you can only ask you to endure with patience and endure the pain in your heart for the benefit of the country. ”
I nodded. I said, "Qin'er understands." Qin'er can bear it. ”
(iv)
Liu Shen nodded.
He said, "I heard that you went with the great lama to visit the Tibetan scripture pavilion in the monastery and talked for a long time. ”
I said, "Yes." ”
"Qin'er, you won't" Liu Shen wanted to speak and stopped, but he stopped halfway through what he said.
But I knew what he was trying to say.
He wanted to ask me, Qin'er, you can't be tired of the red dust, right?
He was worried about me, and from then on he had the heart of the Green Lantern Scroll.
I said, "King Han." ”
Liu Shen asked, "What?" ”
I said, "Does King Han know why the Buddha didn't become a king and went to become a monk?" ”
I looked at Liu Shen. I said, "Why did he leave his wife and son, not be a king, not to rule the world, but to leave the palace and become a monk?" ”
I said, "Why?" ”
Liu Shen looked at me.
He said: "Qin'er, these days you are taking your son with you, managing the palace, and serving your mother, it's really too tiring. When this sacrifice is completed, you should rest for a while and relax. ”
I said, "King Han rest assured. In Qin'er's heart, she didn't have the same thoughts that King Han was worried about. It's just that Qin'er has never been so eager to know, why did the Buddha choose this way?"
Liu Shen said, "How did the Archmage answer you? ”
I said, "The Venerable Master replied that since the Buddha had seen all the sufferings of birth, old age, sickness and death in the Four Gates, he suddenly realized that even as the most powerful king in the world, he could not prevent his parents, his wife and children, his people, and even a wriggling little life from being consumed by disease, old age, or death. Even as kings, they have no power, no power, no way to protect these beings from being crushed. ”
I said, "Then the Buddha realized that the most fundamental suffering of life in the world is not that you cannot live and work in peace and enjoy peace. The most fundamental pain of life in the world is still not immune to the torture and persecution of disease, aging and death. As a result, the Buddha realized that there is something more worthwhile than being a king to make the world prosperous and stable, and there is a greater power than a king, which is worth looking for for all life. ”
Liu Shen looked at me.
I said, "King Han." It turns out that above the king, there is also the Dharma king. He who has insight into the truth of all laws and can benefit all laws, His Majesty. ”
I said, "The Buddha must have the most sincere love for his relatives, his wife and children, so that he could not bear to see them devoured, and he would do whatever it took to find the path and the cure for liberation." ”
I said, "Compared with the deep love of the Buddha, the love in the world seems too superficial and too cowardly. ”
Liu Shen looked at me.
He was silent for a moment, and then he said, "Qin'er." Therefore, the great general once said to me, "You are your father's daughter." ”
"This is the first time I've really felt that what he's saying is right," he said. ”
He said, "Qin'er, your father, will be deeply gratified because of you." ”
He said, "So the great general, too." ”
He said, "Qin'er, behind your armor, there is another warrior. ”
He said, "Today, for the first time, I have seen the warrior who is under your woman's identity. ”
He said, "Okay, Qin'er, I have learned about your determined and eager heart to study the Fa. You'll get what you want. Believe me. I will grant you your wish and receive the Master's personal transmission. ”

Liu Shen has always been a man of his word. This time was no exception.
Since the sixth year of Qingxiang, the court of Liu Shen's new dynasty has officially implemented the system of feasting and preaching.
On the first and fifteenth day of each month, the royal family will invite the senior monks in the major monasteries in Yunjing to enter the palace to preach the teachings and teachings of the royal family members who have the throne and the title of the male with the title, the young and middle-aged throne, the heir to the title and the female relatives of the clan with status, and start the teachings in the Tripitaka.
The royal family set up a high platform in front of the Chinese Pavilion of the palace, respectfully offered incense flowers and lanterns, and invited the senior monks in Beijing to take the stage to speak, and the listeners were male, in the order of honor and eldest and youngest, led by Liu Shen and Shizi, to sit on the ground in the open space in front of the Wenyuan Pavilion and listen to the lecture in person, while the female relatives were under my leadership, and sat on the side of the high platform under the guidance of me, and sat on the side of the high platform under the guidance of me. The scene was extremely solemn, and the learning atmosphere was very serious and strong, without the slightest pretense of ghosts and tricks.
Master Lotus, the abbot of Fazenji Temple, served as the first lecturer of the banquet lectures, and was invited to the court many times to give lectures and answer questions for the emperor's sons and dignitaries. Subsequently, in the monasteries in Yunjing, more than 60 monks entered the palace to give lectures.
Under the influence of the royal act, the whole country, the subjects of men and women, for a while to learn the law and listen to the lecture, it has become a common practice, the monk interprets the law, all over the university forum, the grand occasion is unprecedented, the history is called "Qingxiang Fachang period".
