Shun has five virtuous ministers who can govern the world well; King Wu of Zhou also said: I can govern the country well because there are ten virtuous ministers. Confucius said: Talent is rare! During the period from Tang Yao Yu Shun to King Wu of Zhou, there were the most talents; King Wu of Zhou said that he had ten virtuous ministers, but one of the ten virtuous ministers was a woman, so in reality there were only nine. King Wen of Zhou got two-thirds of the world, but he still served the Yin Dynasty, and the virtue of the Zhou Dynasty can be said to be the highest. For Dayu, I have nothing to find fault with, his diet is very simple, try his best to honor ghosts and gods; He usually dressed very simply, but when he sacrificed, he tried to dress as richly as possible, and he lived in a very low palace, and devoted himself to the cultivation of water conservancy; For Dayu, I really don't have anything to find fault with.

(9) "Zihan Chapter"

"Zihan Chapter" includes a total of 31 chapters, in which the famous sentences are: "Serve the minister abroad and be loyal to the country; Honor your father and brother at home, and do your filial piety for your elders"; "Young people are worthy of awe, how can we know that the next generation is not as good as the previous generation"; "The head of an army may be changed, but the will of a man cannot be changed"; "When the weather is the coldest every year, we know that most of the other plants have withered, and only the pines and cypresses are still upright"; "The wise will not be confused, the virtuous will not be sorrowful, and the brave will not be afraid." This article deals with Confucius's thoughts on moral education, the comments of Confucius's disciples on their teachers, and some of Confucius's activities.

Confucius rarely talked about interests, but he always favored the mandate of heaven and benevolence. There is a place called Daxiang Party, and the people there say this about Confucius: Confucius is so great! He was so learned that he could not be praised for his expertise in one area; When Confucius heard this, he said to his students, "Which area should I specialize in?" Is it driving? Or archery? I think it's better to drive! Confucius said: A top hat made of linen conforms to the rules of etiquette; Now everybody makes top hats out of black silk, which is more economical than in the past, and I agree with everyone's approach. When courtiers greet the king, they must first bow down at the foot of the hall, which is in line with etiquette; Now everyone goes to the church and bows down, which is a sign of arrogance; Although I am different from everyone else, I still advocate kneeling down in the hall first.

Confucius was able to put an end to four ills: subjective suspicion, the expectation that must be fulfilled, stubborn behavior, and selfishness. When Confucius arrived at Kuangdi and was besieged by the locals, he said: After the death of King Wen of Zhou, isn't the ritual and music culture of the Zhou Dynasty reflected in me? If Heaven wanted to destroy this culture, then I would not master this culture; If Heaven doesn't want to destroy this culture, then what can the Kuang people do to me?

Dazai asked Zigong: Confucius is a saint, right? Why is he so versatile? Zigong replied: This was originally made by God to make him a saint and make him versatile; Confucius later said, "How could Dazai understand me?" When I was young, I was in a lowly position, so I learned a lot of lowly skills, and a gentleman would not have such skills. Zigao said: The master said that he didn't go to be an official when he was young, so he knew a lot of skills. Confucius said: Do I have knowledge? Actually, I don't have knowledge; A countryman asked me a question, and I didn't understand anything about what he was talking about; I'm just asking from both ends of the question, so that I get the whole thing straight.

Confucius worked hard all his life to restore the etiquette system, and in his later years, he saw that the restoration of Zhou rites seemed to be in vain, so he lamented: The phoenix will not come back, and the gossip map will not appear in the Yellow River, and my life will be over like this! Confucius would have stood up when he met people in mourning clothes, officials and blind people, even if they were young; When passing in front of them, be sure to walk quickly. Yan Hui sighed: For the teacher's knowledge and morality, I look up, and the more I look up, the more I feel high; I studied hard, and the more I studied, the more I felt that it was inexhaustible; Looking at it, it seems to be in front of you, and suddenly it seems to be behind you; The teacher used all kinds of classics to enrich my knowledge, and used all kinds of etiquette to restrain my words and deeds, so that it was impossible for me to stop learning until I had exhausted all my strength; I always felt as if something very tall was standing in front of me, and although I tried to follow it, I couldn't find a way forward.

Confucius was seriously ill, and Zilu sent Confucius's disciples to be Confucius's retainers and take care of the aftermath. Later, Confucius's illness was better, and Confucius said: Zilu began to do this kind of deceptive thing a long time ago, I obviously don't have a retainer, but I want to pretend to be a retainer, who am I fooling? I'm lying to God! Wouldn't it be better for me to die in the service of your students than to die in the service of your retainers? Besides, even if I can't be buried with the gift of a doctor, will I still be left on the side of the road and no one to bury me?

Zigong asked Confucius: I have a piece of jade here, and you say that I have it in a cabinet? Or do you want to find a merchant who knows the goods and sell it? Confucius said: Sell it! I'm waiting to see who knows the goods. Confucius wanted to move to Jiuyi to live, and someone told Confucius that the place was very backward, isolated, uncivilized, and unsuitable for living; After hearing this, Confucius replied: Where there is a gentleman to go, there will be no isolation and backwardness. After Confucius returned to Lu from Weiguo, "Music" was organized, and Yale and Songle also had their own appropriate arrangements. Confucius said: There is nothing difficult for me to serve the ministers abroad, honor my father and brother at home, do my best to do my best when I have a funeral, and not be trapped by alcohol.

Confucius stood by the river, looked at the river flowing eastward, and sighed: "The passing time is like this river, flowing forward day and night." Confucius said: I have never seen a person who likes benevolence and virtue as much as he likes women. Confucius said: For example, if you use a mound of earth to pile a mountain, you only need to complete it with a basket of soil, and then stop, that is what you have to stop; For example, if you pile up dirt on flat ground, even if you only pour a basket of soil, if you continue to move forward, you will also move forward. Listen to me and never slack off, only Yan Hui is alone! What a pity! I saw him moving forward, and I never saw him stop.

There are cases where crops grow seedlings but cannot sprout ears and flowers, and there are also cases where they vomit ears and flowers but fail to bear fruit. Young people are to be feared, and who says the next generation is inferior to the previous one? If a man is still unknown at the age of forty or fifty, then he has nothing to be feared. Who would not obey the righteous words and persuasions that conform to the rules of etiquette? But only by correcting one's own mistakes according to it is precious; Whoever listens to the words of deference and praise will be happy, but only after analyzing its truth and falsehood is it valuable; I am just happy and do not analyze, I just say that I am unwilling to correct my mistakes, for such a person, I really have nothing to do with him.
