China has paid great attention to the protection of the marine and land ecology in the construction of Taiping Island, and the entire Taiping Island is full of green trees, birds and flowers, and the greening rate has reached more than 90%. Coastal defense is equipped with Sea Hawk shore-to-ship island shells and 122-mm "Tempest" 40-barrel self-propelled rocket launchers around the islands. It covers the sea area within 120 kilometers. At the same time, a large number of small-caliber guns of all kinds were also deployed, and Taiping Island was transformed into a military fortress, underground defense, and modern life.

In order to build Taiping Island into an unsinkable aircraft carrier, a modern airport with a runway with a length of 1,200 meters and complete facilities for large military transport planes, heavy fighter planes, and various military aircraft to take off and land was built on one side of Taiping Island.
