vs 45 Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
If the people in the higher positions like courtesy, then the people will be easy to call. Zilu asked Confucius for advice on what a gentleman is, and Confucius told him: cultivate yourself and maintain a serious and respectful attitude, so that you are a gentleman; Zilu then asked, "Is this enough?" Confucius then replied: Cultivate yourself so that the people around you will be happy; Zilu asked again: Master, is there anything else? Confucius replied: Cultivate yourself, so that the people on the left and right will be happy; Cultivating oneself to make all the people happy, I'm afraid it will be difficult for Yao and Shun to do it!
Confucius's old acquaintance was the original soil, and he sat there with his legs crossed and waited for Confucius, and when Confucius saw his virtue, he began to scold him: When you were young, you didn't talk about filial piety; Now that you've grown up, you don't have anything to praise for, you're not dead, you're such a pest! Confucius said as he tapped his calf with his cane. Where Confucius lived, there was a boy who came to convey a message to Confucius; After the boy left, someone asked Confucius: Do you feel that this is a child who seeks to improve? Confucius replied: I saw him sitting in the adult seat, and I saw him walking side by side with his elders, which shows that he is not a child who seeks progress, but a child who is eager to achieve.

The content of this article touches on some aspects of Confucius's concept of "gentlemen and villains", Confucius's educational and political thoughts, and Confucius's interpretation of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
Wei Linggong asked Confucius for advice on the formation of the army, and Confucius replied: I have heard of the sacrificial etiquette; I have never learned anything about fighting with soldiers; The next day, Confucius left the country. When Confucius and his entourage were in the state of Chen, they ran out of food, and many of the students who followed them were hungry and sick, and Zilu said to Confucius very unhappily: Do you have times when you are too poor to do anything? Confucius replied: Although the gentleman is poor, he can still persevere; Once the villain encounters poverty, he will do everything. Confucius said to Zigong: Zigong! Do you think I've learned a lot to memorize them all? Zigong replied, "Yes, isn't that the Master?" Confucius replied with a smile: No, I use a fundamental thing to carry them throughout.
Confucius said to Zilu: Zilu! There are too few people who know virtue! Confucius said: The only person who can govern the world by doing nothing is probably Shun, right? What did he do? It's just sitting solemnly on the throne of the imperial court. Zizhang asked Confucius for advice on how to make himself workable everywhere, and Confucius told him: As a man, you must be faithful in your words and respectful in your deeds, even if you go to a barbarian area, it can also work; Neither being faithful in speaking or acting in a disrespectful manner will be feasible in one's own country. To stand is as if to see the words faithfulness and reverence appear before you; Riding in a car is like seeing these words engraved on the crossbar in front of the wheel, so that you can make yourself work everywhere. Later, Zizhang wrote these words on his belt.
Confucius said: Shi Yu, the great doctor who defended the country, is really upright! When there is a way in the country, his words and deeds are as righteous as arrows; When the country is unreasonable, his words and deeds are as upright as arrows. The doctor of the country, Lu Boyu, is really a gentleman! When the country has a way, he comes out to be an official; When the country was unreasonable, he resigned from his official position and hid his ideas in his heart. Confucius said: You can say what you say to him, but you don't say it to him, and then you will lose friends; Thou shalt not say what thou hast said to him, but thou shalt say the wrong thing. A wise person neither loses a friend nor says the wrong thing. There is no one who damages benevolence because of greed for life and fear of death, only those who sacrifice their lives to fulfill benevolence.
Zigong asked Confucius for advice on what should be done to practice benevolence, and Confucius told him that if a worker wants to do a good job, he must first sharpen his tools; To live in this country, one should serve the wise men among the doctors and make friends with the benevolent ones among the scholars, and this is called practicing benevolence. Yan Hui asked Confucius for advice on how to govern the country, and Confucius replied: Use the calendar of the Xia Dynasty, take the car of the Yin Dynasty, wear the clothes and hats of the Zhou Dynasty, play the music of "Shao", ban the music of Zheng Guo, and alienate those who can speak well; Zheng Guo's music is extravagant and not decent, and it is too dangerous to be a servant. Confucius said: If people do not have long-term considerations, they will definitely have immediate troubles. I have never met a man who is so fond of virtue as he is for women.
Lu Guo's doctor Zang Wenzhong should be a person who steals official positions! He knew that Yanagishita Megumi was a virtuous man, but he did not recommend him to be an official together. Blame yourself more and blame others less, so that you can avoid the resentment of others. People who never say "what to do, what to do" when encountering problems, I don't know what to do with such people. It is really difficult to teach a few people who gather together all day long, and who do not meet the standard of righteousness when they speak, and who are only interested in showing off their cleverness. A gentleman takes righteousness as the foundation, implements it with courtesy, expresses his thoughts with humble language, and accomplishes things with a loyal attitude.
A gentleman is only afraid that he has no talent, and he is not afraid that others will not know him. The gentleman feared that after his death, his name would not be celebrated. The gentleman asks for himself, and the villain asks for others. A gentleman is dignified and does not quarrel with others, and gregarious and does not form a party for personal gain. A gentleman does not recommend a man based on what he says, nor does he disappoint a person's good words because of his bad words. Zigong asked Confucius for advice: Master, is there such a word that can be practiced for the rest of your life? Confucius replied: If it is a word, then it is forgiveness! Forgiveness means that if you don't want to, don't impose it on others.
