Chapter 218: Sorting Out Information
"I have no intention of going back. [Ran^Text^Library] lxs520.com I have to pick up my children, and I can only work from home for a while. She didn't want to tell him she was trying to avoid Hamilton and Terrence, "Is there something wrong?"
"There are a couple of things. I got a list of posts that supported Chilton. Not much, and I guess that's good news. But this is normal. In blogs, more people are there to oppose than to support. ”
"Email me the list and I'll call them from home. Is there anything else?"
"We're going to crack Travis' computer password in about an hour."
"Really? Oh, that's amazing. "Tiffany or Bambi are clearly masters of hacking.
"I'm going to copy his hard drive with a different one. I think you'd definitely want to see it. ”
"You're right," Katyusha had an idea, "do you have any other plans for tonight?"
"No, I've put the Snitch on hold to help you guys."
"Bring the computer to my house. I had my parents and a few friends come over for dinner. ”
"Of course." She gave him the address and time.
They hung up.
Katyusha stood next to her car in the hospital parking lot. She noticed several medical assistants and nurses leaving work. They stared at her. Among them is a child Katyusha knows. She smiled. One or two nodded in greeting, but the response received was lukewarm, if not cold. Of course, she'll realize that they're going to think like this: I'm looking at the daughter of a woman suspected of murder.
"I'll get the grocery bag." Maggie applauded. At this time, Katyusha's Nissan explorer stopped in front of the house with a creak.
This girl has always felt like she has grown up lately. She grabbed the largest bag. There are 4 bags in total; After picking up the kids from Martini's house, they went on a shopping spree at the Safeway supermarket. If all the people she invited were to attend, there would probably be 12 people, including young people with discerning tastes.
Wess leaned a little under the weight of holding two bags in one hand—this is his brother's business—and he asked his mother, "When is Grandma coming?"
"It'll be there in a moment, I hope ...... It's also possible that she won't be able to come. ”
"No, she said she was coming."
Kai'Sa smiled a little puzzled, "You spoke to her?"
"Yes, she called me when I was at summer camp."
"Called me too." Not to be outdone, Maggie was not far behind.
So that means she called to tell the kids that she's all right. But Katyusha's face flushed. Why didn't mom call her?
"Great, if she's going to come."
They took the bag to the house.
Katyusha walked into the bedroom, and the dog named Patch followed her.
She looked at the locked box with the gun. Travis is expanding his target, and he knows she is one of the officers who is after him.
She hadn't forgotten the threat she had had—the cross, the one she had found in the backyard last night. Katyusha decided to take a pistol with her. However, because she has children at home, she has always been very careful with her guns, and she still locks them up for a few minutes in the shower. She took off her clothes and stepped into the hot water that had been sprayed down - she wanted to wash away the fatigue of the day, but it was not easy. She wore jeans and a voluminous shirt that she didn't tuck into her pants to hide the gun that was stuck in her waist behind her back.
Although this is uncomfortable, it can make her feel much more at ease. Then she hurried into the kitchen.
She fed the dog food and stopped the petty quarrel between the two children, who were arguing about the preparations for dinner. Katyusha was patient, she knew they had been stimulated by what had happened in the hospital yesterday. Maggie's job is to open the things she bought, and Wes is to pack up and get ready to welcome the guests. Katyusha is still happy that the home can become lively, even if there are only three people living in it.
Now that her mind goes back to the family of four, she often thinks about the past. She glanced at the wedding photo, Bill, who had early gray hair, was thin, with an easy-going smile, and put his arm on her floor, facing the camera.
She went into her study, turned on her computer, and emailed Terrence to report on Chilton's attack and her meeting with Brubaker.
She didn't have the mood to talk to him.
Katyusha then retrieved Jon's email, which contained a list of 17 people who had posted good things about Chilton over the past few months.
It could be worse, she had a hunch.
For the next hour, she found the phone numbers of people who lived within 100 miles and called them to alert them of danger. She endured criticism, some of which was hard to hear, accusing the state bureau of investigation and the police for failing to stop Travis.
Katyusha logged on the day's "Chimera Report".
She scrolled through all the post chains and found that almost all of them had new posts. The posts to Father Fisk and the Salt Water Purification Plant post chain are serious about their respective demands – and growing with righteous indignation. But none of these posts were as vicious as the comments in the "cross" post chain, most of which vented their anger at each other as violently as they did at Travis.
Some of the posts are strangely worded, some are simply informative, and some are simply explicit threats. She had the feeling that there were clues to Travis's hideout - and even bits and pieces of facts that hinted at his next target. Could it be that Travis is actually one of the posters, hiding behind a fake identity or an "anonymous" post under a common pseudonym? She carefully read the confrontation between the posts and thought there might be clues, but she wasn't sure. Eventually, she quit the blog.
Hugh sent her an email with bad news: Doe's waiver hearing had been postponed until Friday. As a prosecutor, Ernie sees the judge's willingness to follow the defense's pleas as a bad sign. She smiled wryly at the news, disappointed that he didn't call her to tell her the news. He also didn't mention whether he would come over for dinner with the children in the evening.
Katyusha began to prepare the meal. She can't cook, she has to admit that. But she knew which store had the best delicatessen.
From Wes's room, the soft beep of a video game came as Maggie played the keys on the scale. Listening to the voices, Katyusha involuntarily stared towards the backyard, recalling her mother's facial expression yesterday afternoon, when her daughter was leaving her to investigate the scene of the second cross.
