It is impossible for me to see a saint in my life, but it is enough to see a gentleman; It is impossible for me to see good people, but it is enough to see people who are consistent and virtuous. It is very difficult for a person who does not have the perseverance to maintain good character, who pretends to be full of emptiness, and who pretends to be rich when he is poor. When Confucius fished, he only used a fishing rod with one hook, instead of a large rope with many hooks; When shooting birds, they only shoot flying birds, and never shoot birds that rest in their nests. There is such a person, who may not understand anything, but he creates out of thin air there, but I have never done that; Listen more and choose the best things to learn; Seeing more, and then keeping the useful in mind, is the second order of wisdom.
