Section 467 Xueji is the inheritance of pre-Qin Confucianism

"Xueji" says: Students often have four kinds of mistakes in learning, and teachers must be clear about them. ∑, these four faults are: either they are greedy and do not seek to understand, or they are lost in not seeking progress and have a narrow range of knowledge; Or it starts by taking learning too easy, asking teachers when they encounter problems, never thinking deeply, and the result is as ignorant as if they have not learned; Or they never ask the teacher when they encounter problems, but they just stop and meditate alone, and in the end they are still confused. The root cause of these four faults lies in the different psychological characteristics of students. Understand the psychological characteristics of students, and then remedy students' mistakes. Teaching is to promote students' strengths and remedy students' mistakes.

or greedy for more than one can chew; or the knowledge is too narrow, one-sided specialization; or avoid the important and light; Or stop at a shallow taste and retreat in fear. These four shortcomings are caused by the different mental states of students when they are learning. As a teacher, we must understand the learning psychology of students, understand the psychological differences between different students, and do the work of promoting strengths and avoiding weaknesses, making up for deviations and remedying disadvantages, so as to promote the normal development of students.

"Xueji" requires teachers to be good at handling the relationship between learning and hobbies in the teaching process, so that the main course learning has a main direction, the hobbies are wide and diverse, and the hobbies are helpful to the learning of the main class. "Xueji" says: University education should allow students to practice from time to time, must use the canon of the ancestors to teach, and must have a fixed place to rest and rest. The key to learning is to practice the basic skills, when learning music, if you don't practice the basic fingering after class, it is impossible to play the piano well in class; When learning poetry books, if you don't rely on extensive practice of metaphors in your spare time, you can't learn poetry books well in class; When learning etiquette, if you don't learn the rules of doing things and socializing on various occasions in your spare time, you won't be able to learn etiquette well in class. In general, if you are not interested in these extracurricular exercises, boyi, and six arts, it is impossible to be interested in canons such as the Book of Songs and the Book of Shang. Therefore, the method of learning for a gentleman is to keep it in mind at all times, never give up studying at any time, and do things related to learning when resting, even when traveling in leisure time, you must keep learning in mind.

"Xue Ji" pointed out that hobbies can assist in the study of the main class, because if you do not play various musical instruments outside of class, you will not be able to learn the piano proficiently in class; If you don't learn singing and chanting miscellaneous poems outside of class, you can't deeply understand the Book of Songs in class; If you don't practice housework such as cleaning and know the etiquette of greeting and sending off guests outside of class, you won't be able to learn etiquette well in class. Therefore, in the process of teaching, teachers must consciously guide students to correctly handle the relationship between classroom learning and hobbies, so that the main course learning has the main direction and can achieve success. The hobbies are lively and diverse, and they are full of interest, which makes the whole teaching activity a relaxed, serious and lively pleasant process.

Inheriting the teaching ideas inspired and induced by Confucius, Xueji requires teachers to fully mobilize students' enthusiasm and encourage students to think positively in the teaching process, so that the teaching process becomes a process of bilateral joint activities between teachers and students, which is the guiding principle that must be followed in teaching. Therefore, "Xueji" says: teachers should pay attention to inspiration and guidance in the teaching process, and guide students but not lead them by the nose, so that teachers and students can enjoy each other; Be strict with students, but do not suppress their personality and needs, only in this way can students feel that learning is stressful but easy to achieve the goal, so that they will not suffer from the difficulties of learning, and do not understand its benefits; Guide students to open their minds, but do not rush to provide ready-made answers, in order to cultivate the habit of independent thinking of students, in the teaching process to truly achieve concise and thorough language, subtle and appropriate, rarely use metaphors and easy to understand, even if they are good at teaching metaphors. This is the inheritance and development of Confucius's inspiration and induction teaching ideas in the "Xue Ji".

The "Xue Ji" inherited the pre-Qin Confucianism. In particular, Confucius and Xunzi have a glorious tradition of attaching importance to the issue of teachers, believing that the key to the success or failure of teaching lies in teachers. With good teachers, unreasonable rules and regulations can be corrected, unscientific content systems can be adjusted, and unclear educational goals can be clarified and highlighted. Therefore, teachers are the key to improving the quality of education.

Regarding the role of teachers, "Xueji" uses people who are good at singing, which can make people indulge in singing and linger; A person who is good at teaching can make people inherit his ambition and work tirelessly, which vividly illustrates the leading role of teachers in the educational process. Since the growth of talents is inseparable from teachers, and the progress of society is inseparable from teachers, "Xueji" puts forward the idea of respecting teachers.

In terms of the basic literacy that teachers should have, the "Xueji" proposes that the main responsibility of teachers is to be good at discovering students' strengths, and can guide students to correct their own mistakes. The responsibility of teachers is great, and teachers should be respected by the whole society. None of the three kings and four generations is not cautious in choosing teachers, which will inevitably put forward high requirements for the quality that teachers should have. Teachers should have the qualities of being a leader and a king. "Xueji" says: If you can be an excellent teacher, then you will be able to be a good official; If you can be a good official, then you can be a good king of a country.

Specifically, it talks about the qualities that teachers should have, including the following aspects:

First, they have a high political quality and moral consciousness, because to learn the Tao from teachers is to make themselves virtuous through study.
