Yao said: Shun! The destiny of Heaven has fallen on you, so keep the middle way faithfully! If all the people of the world live in poverty and hardship, then the throne given to you by Heaven will end forever. Later, Shun also told Yu such words. Shang Tang said: Villain Tang, use a black bull to sacrifice to the heavens, report to the great emperor, guilty people, I dare not pardon without authorization, what the servants do, I dare not have the slightest concealment, the heart of the emperor has its own discernment and choice; If I am guilty, I will not implicate the world, and if the world is guilty, I will bear it alone! The Zhou Dynasty was a great feudal prince, and the good people slowly became rich; King Wu of Zhou said: Although I have close relatives, it is better to have more benevolent people; If the people are at fault, I will bear the blame alone.

Carefully inspect the weights and measures, and make laws carefully, and the decrees of the whole country will be passed. Restore the destroyed nation, continue the severed families, and promote the left behind, and the people of the world will be truly submitted. The four things that the superior should pay attention to are: people, food, funerals, and sacrifices. Generosity can win the support of the people, honesty can get the appointment of others, diligence can achieve results, and fairness will satisfy the people.

Zizhang asked Confucius: May I ask Master, how can we manage the political affairs of the country well? Confucius told him that by respecting the five virtues and eliminating the four kinds of bad government, the government of the country can be governed well. Zizhang asked, "What are the five virtues?" Confucius said: A gentleman should give favors to the people but he does not spend it; Let the people work without resentment; pursue benevolence and virtue without greed for financial gain; Solemn but not arrogant; Majestic but not ferocious.

Zizhang was puzzled and said: What is it called to give favor to the people without spending it yourself? Confucius told him: Isn't letting the people do what is good for them is to give the people a favor without spending it yourself? Choose the right time and things for the people to do, so who will resent? If you pursue benevolence in your heart, you will get the opportunity to practice benevolence, and what is there to covet for financial gain? Isn't it solemn and not arrogant for a gentleman to treat others, no matter how large or small the number of people or how powerful they are, to snub them? A gentleman is well-dressed and does not look evil, so that people will be in awe when they see it, isn't this majestic but not fierce?

Zizhang continued to ask Confucius: What are the four kinds of evil government? Confucius told him that killing without education is called torture; Asking for success without admonition is called violence; A thief who suddenly has an unsupervised deadline is called a thief; The same is to give people money, but to be stingy, this is called stinginess.

Confucius said: If you don't understand the mandate of heaven, you can't be a gentleman; If you don't know etiquette, you can't stand in the world; If you can't discern what others are saying, you can't really understand them.

All the feelings arise at the end of the Analects, so don't say anything if you can't say it, just keep going.

Each sentence in the Analects, if expanded and analyzed, can be written in a lot of content, which is also the charm of the source of the Great Dao. However, as we said at the beginning, too many explanations will lead the truth astray and confusing. It sounds reasonable, but it always seems to be petty-minded, and it seems to be more or less biased. So what I want to do is to try to keep it as it is, and then let everyone read it easily and comfortably, so that we can find the side we need from it. Just like water, water can be processed into juice, it can be processed into soda, it can be processed into tea, it can be processed into alcohol. Processed drinks are very nutritious, but we can't drink them every day, because things must be reversed, and after a certain amount, any good thing will gradually develop in the opposite direction. There is only water, obscure, very inconspicuous, but we can't leave it every day.

In this way, the Analects spread, and once it was circulated, it was more than 2,000 years. It is not only the basic work of Confucianism, but also the source of the formation of the national spirit of the Chinese nation. Confucius knew that the way of heaven was respectable and fearful, so he treated people and things without the slightest prejudice in his life. The truth here is probably the way of heaven!
