Before Liu Xiu, there was no shortage of kings of the Zhongxing country, such as Ji Jing, the 11th monarch of the Western Zhou Dynasty, Liu Fuling, the 7th monarch of the Former Han Dynasty, Liu Fuling, the 7th monarch of the Han Dynasty, and Liu Xun, the 8th monarch of the Han Dynasty.

For more than 2,000 years, generations have changed and the world has changed, but no one has ever raised any objections to Liu Xiu's two hats, which fully shows that he is suitable and well-deserved to wear them.

However, Liu Xiu himself prefers to wear another hat of "King of Zhongxing", which he says can better show his temperament and pursuit.

In July 29 AD, Liu Xiu personally conquered Dong Xian, and in the midst of his extremely busy work, he came to Pei County to worship the high temple.

In April 30 A.D., he visited Chang'an, visited the high temple, and paid homage to the tombs of 11 emperors of the former Han Dynasty from Gaozu Liu Bang to Ping Emperor Liu Yan.

In 34 A.D., when Kui Huan had been extinguished, Kui Chun was on the run, and the conquest of Gongsun Shu was imminent, he specially issued an edict to arrange the renovation of Chang'an High Temple. In August of the same year, he took advantage of the opportunity of his personal expedition to Kui Chun, came to Chang'an, visited the high temple again, and worshiped the mausoleum of the 11th emperor of the former Han Dynasty.

In this way, through a series of measures such as ancestor worship, Liu Xiu constantly demonstrated his Liu clan lineage, shaped himself into a pious heir of the former Han dynasty, and created a very favorable political environment and social atmosphere for himself to reign over the world.
