There is no oil in Shanxi, but there is an almost inexhaustible supply of coal, if the coal is used to refine gasoline and diesel, then it can also be said that Shanxi people are not standing on the sea of coal, but on the sea of oil.

For the use of coal to refine gasoline and diesel, Song Zhewu has long been prepared. When he was still in Tianjin, he asked Wang Mingyang to focus his research on coal chemical industry, not only now Wang Mingyang has developed many chemical products under the guidance of Song Zhewu, but also has achieved great success in refining gasoline and diesel from coal.

The technology of refining gasoline and diesel by the German "low-temperature dry distillation charcoal method" has gradually matured, so that although Germany has no oil fields in the territory and has lost all its overseas colonies after World War I, it is now not short of gasoline and diesel, and its coal chemical refinery has fully met the needs of the present peacetime.

Of course, the cost of gasoline and diesel extracted from coal chemical industry is very high, especially the cost of diesel is higher, more than twice the cost of using petroleum extraction, and now the German private enterprises are still buying gasoline and diesel from abroad, but the Germans are still very far-sighted and actively provide subsidies for coal chemical refineries and constantly improve their technology. The efforts and money of the Germans were not in vain, and in the early days of World War II, before the seizure of the oil fields in Romania, the German army's gasoline and diesel supplies were all fought with oil extracted from the coal chemical industry.

However, Song Zhewu's current refining technology is much more advanced than that of the Germans at this time, this is because, in Song Zhewu's previous life, because of the emphasis on sustainable development, a large number of energy technologies that do not pollute the environment or pollute as little as possible are needed, and the liquefaction and recycling of coal resources is a major research project carried out in China, and Song Zhewu is fortunate to participate in it.
