Chapter 193 Revolutionary Husband and Wife Section 3 Marriage is a big deal

Since ancient times, Chinese marriage has to talk about "fate". "A hundred years of cultivation can be crossed in the same boat, and a thousand years of cultivation can be slept together." There is also an old Chinese saying: "If you can't tie up a husband and wife, a twisted melon is not sweet." Therefore, there is no problem for the "organization" to intervene in such a matter as marriage, but it cannot be the master of others, let alone use the "organization" as a weapon of coercion.

But in that era, even if it was not in the army, it was rare for the ordinary people to have free love, basically the kind of parental arranged marriage that had never met before marriage, as soon as the man died, the rest of the women would have a difficult life, if the man was in the army or in the organization of our party before his death, it was better, it was considered a martyr's family, and the village and the county had to take care of it, and the land was arranged by the government for the village people to help plant.

The orphans and widows left behind by the common people who were slaughtered by the devils are not having a good time, the land in the mountains is barren, and they have to work hard to take care of it, after all, the women are single and weak, and the days are very frightened, and there are more than 1,000 widows in the entire eleventh district who are counted as martyrs and those who are not martyrs!

After the incident of the wounded soldier from northern Shaanxi asking to enter the widow's house, the Political Department of the sub-district and the Lingman Administration conducted a rough investigation, and there were many similar things to this wounded soldier! There have to be dozens of cases, and in some less civilized villages, this kind of thing has also caused a bad effect.

Didn't Yang Bangzi himself almost get into trouble with the people because of the matter of Lianxiang, and the conflict with the people at that time was a political event! Yang Bangzi looked back and thought that it was Commander Huang who protected him at that time, if it wasn't for Commander Huang, he would have been shot if he didn't make a good fuss!

Now that this kind of thing has happened to my subordinates, what should I do? Yang stick did it hard!

Don't say he's having a hard time. This kind of thing has always been a difficult topic to talk about in the history of our party.

Let's talk about some of my views on the issue of our party's "marriage." View history. From the beginning of the War of Resistance in 1937 to 1949, the Party took power in the whole country. There were three peaks of marriages before and after.

The first marriage climax was in the early years of the Anti-Japanese War in 1938-1939. During that period, a large number of young women and female students from all over the motherland came to Yan'an and various anti-Japanese base areas, which gave those party, government, and military cadres who had a certain leadership position a good opportunity to choose their spouses.

You can see in the biographies of countless leaders of our party, government, and army that as soon as they returned to Yan'an from other places, they immediately put down their work and immediately went to the places where there were piles of female students to look for objects. Chen Geng is a typical example. Even Lord Deng is no exception. Once you've "targeted" the target, you don't have to worry about the rest, and the "organization" will do the rest.

The party's "organization" will run the bread and solve your marriage, which is a lifelong event, this is definitely a major landscape with Chinese characteristics, right? I am afraid that there is no second political party in the world that can do this? How dare you do that? Because it's about the consensual nature of marriage. Unless it's a political marriage, you can't help yourself.

Just ask: What if the woman doesn't obey? Overlord forced on the bow? I have not seen an answer to this question in various biographies and histories. There will certainly be people (mainly young women) who rebel against the "organization" of the bread office, but they just don't publicize it. People who have come from that time, both men and women, talk about such an organized marriage in their memories, and no one seems to think that it is abnormal. Get used to it.

The one who told me this historical story. is also a female cadre who came over the Anti-Japanese War. According to her own account, she was first introduced by Yang Chengwu to Zeng Yongya, a cadre of the Red Army. But she refused, and married a cadre of the Anti-Japanese War on her own.

I will take the First Army Division of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, which I am most familiar with, as an example, who got married at the end of 1938: Yang Chengwu, commander and political commissar of the First Division; Married in 1939: Chief of Staff Huang Shoufa, Director of the Political Department Luo Yuanfa, First Regiment Commander Chen Zhengxiang, and later the new Chief of Staff Xu Decao, etc. Jin Chaji is very famous for marrying Wang Ping, Wang Zonghuai, and Yi Yaocai's three Fan sisters, and they also married during this period. Especially Yi Yaocai.

Yi Yaocai once served as the chief of staff of the Jicha Military Region, and in August 1945, he, together with Yang Chunfu, Bai Wenzhi, and Yang Zhuo, led the Jicha Military Region Teaching Brigade and Guard Battalion to Xuanhua to establish the "Northern Front Command" to attack Zhangjiakou. Yi Yaocai is generous, low-key, approachable, not overbearing, not fighting, not arrogant, Yi Yaocai has a high prestige among the cadres of Jicha. His impression, popularity, and reputation in the minds of today's cadres are very good.

According to records, Yi Yaocai once "rebelled against the object arranged by the organization" and found a partner for himself. The three sisters of the Fan family, needless to say, the eldest two, mentioned above, are already famous, only the youngest sister of the last one. It is said that the object of the "organization" that was originally looking for Yi Yaocai was a doctor. The doctor went on a "blind date" and took the third sister of the Fan family with him, in order to be a companion. didn't want to come back on a blind date, Yi Yaocai didn't fall in love with the doctor, but fell in love with the bridesmaids who accompanied him on the blind date. Everyone wants to get the ending after the end, the "organization" came forward to do the work, and the third sister of the Fan family became Mrs. Yi Yaocai.

The second marriage climax was in 1945-1946, before and after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. With the arrival of the victory of the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the people were ecstatic and encouraged by the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and a large number of young men and women in the liberated areas, as well as the areas ruled by the Japanese puppet and the Kuomintang, gathered under the banner of our party, and a considerable number of our party's party, government, and military cadres had another opportunity to get married on a large scale.

Because there are a lot of cadres in this part, I won't give examples, as long as I see those children born in 1946-1947, I know that they are all "victorious babies of the Anti-Japanese War". Their parents must have gotten married in the year of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. Among the cadres I am familiar with, including the cadres of the First Division, the cadres of the Jicha Division, the cadres of the North China Infantry School, and the cadres of the Pingjin Picket Corps, there are many cadres who got married in the two years after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.

The third marriage climax, as we all know, was in 1949, when our party took power in the country. That year, young students from large and medium-sized cities across the country entered the revolutionary ranks, especially the army, one after another, and this gave the leaders of the party, government, and military of the Communist Party of China an excellent opportunity to calmly and unhurriedly choose new spouses. Including cadres who had experienced the two climaxes of marriage before, this time they got married again, and history calls the remarriage of these cadres a "wife-swapping" action.

This kind of "wife swapping" action of leading cadres that took place in the early days of the country's liberation is undoubtedly a kind of corrupt behavior of the past -- "liking the new and hating the old." These cadres threw off the "wretched wives" who had endured hardships and hardships together and replaced them with "student girls" from the city, so they were strongly condemned by Mao Zedong and many other top leaders of the party, government, and military.

In the narrative of this old story, some people are puzzled by the fact that marriage must be approved by the "organization". It's not a development into the party, and it's not a trial, why are you so serious?

There's a background to this, which I've covered earlier. This is in the year of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, due to the "organizational" interrogation and intervention in the marriage of cadres, it is inevitable that some male and female cadres will already have marriage records. Although some cadres themselves will raise objections and do not accept this marriage arrangement of the "organization". However, it is better to determine the marriage relationship after this after the approval of the "organization". The purpose of "organizing" the approval is to play a role similar to today's "notarization" and to confirm that "this cadre does not already have a spouse" and that he or she is definitely not a "married man" or a "married woman".

For some cautious cadres, this step of the procedure must be taken. Otherwise, you won't be able to tell if there will be trouble in the future. For example, saying that you "took someone's wife" and so on.

In my research on the history of the Jin-Cha-Ji War of Resistance, I collected the marital status of many cadres of the Eighth Route Army. The cadres of our party and the Eighth Route Army are not all saints, and sometimes the relationship between husband and wife and the relationship between the sexes in the relationship between cadres is very chaotic. As we all know, the triangular relationship between Li Rui, Fan Yuanzhen and Deng Liqun is a special case, and there is no possibility of analogy, so it is not counted. But it is not uncommon to get married to someone else's wife, and these real examples are not easy to talk about today. Other people's children are getting old. (To be continued......)
