Chapter Eighty-Eight: Ingratitude

This was followed by a cheer from the partisans, and of course a burst of empty guns in the sky......

Although some of the partisans were a little unhappy that we had let the Soviets go so easily, when the war ended with the Soviet army in full, we saw the Soviets leave like defeated roosters...... The little dissatisfaction in their hearts has long since flown away, and instead they enthusiastically hugged the Chinese soldiers, constantly saying to us:

"Thank you, Chinese friends!"

"You helped us defeat the Soviets!"

"It is you who have guarded the valley of Xijieo and kept the people safe!"

……

I knew it when I watched this scene...... We have established ourselves in the valley of Higio, and now even the rebirth of Pesur will not be able to drive us out of this valley.

The partisans quickly shifted their interest to the equipment left behind by the Soviet troops...... The scene quickly became chaotic, with some armed with rifles, some with machine guns, and even more exaggerated, some guerrillas climbed into armored vehicles and even tanks to try to take possession of them...... Even Hassan's shouting orders at them did not work, and the guerrillas continued to go their own way...... You call yours, I pick mine, and some people even fight for a piece of equipment together!

I can only smile wryly when I look at this qiē, and the guerrillas are like that...... In particular, the Afghan guerrillas still have their own forces within themselves, and most of the time their own interests are always the first thing they consider.

But this also seems understandable...... People who fight on the battlefield, whether the equipment is good or not often determines their life and death in the next battle, who can not be tempted to see the equipment left by the Soviet army at this time?!

But I don't agree with what they're doing......

I pulled out my pistol and fired two shots "bang" into the sky. This quieted down the partisans.

"Listen to me!" I said, "No one is allowed to change their equipment without permission." Kick out the troops in violation of orders! ”

The guerrillas were stunned...... This Shigio Valley is a place that can carry a few regiments of Soviet troops. And our army can also be said to be a victorious force...... So no one wants to be kicked out like that.

So the guerrillas reluctantly put back the stolen equipment......

Then I gave a loud order: "Hassan organizes the guerrillas to bring the small arms back to the bomb shelters, and the second company is responsible for driving the tanks and armored vehicles into the Harvey Valley!" Move fast! ”

"Yes!" Hassan and Scar answered, beckoning their troops to do their own thing.

Needless to say, you know what I'm worried about...... The Soviet devils are not good people, don't look at them on the surface that they were convinced by us, but when they turn around, they are afraid that they will do some tricks.

It is precisely because of this that the place of surrender that I arranged for will be the No. 2 Valley......

On the one hand, there are many bomb shelters near Valley 2, and it is also very close to the Harvey Valley...... The bomb shelter was built in the past by Pesul, mainly to keep the people safe from the threat of Soviet artillery shells and air power. But since I have removed a large number of the people of the Higio Valley. A large number of bomb shelters were left vacant...... Some of this was converted into fortifications, and some of it was used to store the equipment.

As for the Havi Valley...... It was a natural valley in front of Pass No. 3, and from a distance it looked like a crack in a mountain...... The width was only enough for two tanks to enter side by side, and the top was narrower, like a line of sky, so there was no need to worry about the air power of the Soviet army at all...... If the Soviets could accurately drop the bomb at the bottom of this deep, narrow, and curved crevad, it would be a stroke of genius.

So this narrow valley became a good shelter for armored vehicles.

On the other hand...... I did not let the Soviets leave immediately, but arranged for several groups of guerrillas to delay the Soviets' exit from the valley under the pretext of checking whether the Soviets were carrying other equipment at the No. 1 Pass.

In fact...... Where do we care what weapons the Soviets have stolen, my real purpose is to buy us a little time...... As long as the Soviets did not leave the valley, then their artillery fire and air power would not dare to bomb our Higio valley.

As I expected...... We've just had time to move our equipment into bomb shelters. The whistling of shells sounded in the air...... When I came down from the battlefield in Vietnam, I could easily tell that it was a Soviet rocket artillery, and although it was not accurate, it could shoot a large number of rockets at the target in a short period of time. And it's almost carpet bombing.

So in just a moment, Valley 02 was blown up into a cloud of smoke...... And that's not all, and then a few incendiary bombs went down...... It was a high-flying incendiary bomb dropped by a large transport plane, and the explosion turned the entire valley into a sea of fire.

Fortunately, we were prepared for a long time...... It is not difficult to say that it is difficult to defend against such aviation incendiary bombs, and it is not easy to say that it is simple......

Let's put it simply...... The flames of this incendiary bomb will be scattered everywhere, often spraying into the bomb shelter more than ten meters deep, although the burns to the inside are limited, but it will drain the air of the bomb shelter in a short time, causing the people inside to suffocate to death.

Let's say it's hard...... On the battlefield in Vietnam, we were the Vietnamese soldiers who were always hiding in the tunnels, and we naturally knew exactly how they used to prevent fire...... You only need to prepare some sandbags at the entrance of the air-raid shelter in advance, and as soon as you hide in it, you will use sandbags to plug the entrance of the air-raid shelter with sandbags, and if necessary, put a new layer of soil inside, it is best to splash a little more water, and if you don't have time, cover it with a layer of wet cotton...... This is very effective in preventing the fire from backing up and draining the air in the bomb shelter.

As for the lack of air in the bomb shelter...... As long as the space is large enough, there is no problem until the fire outside becomes smaller.

"Battalion commander!" In the dark air-raid shelter, Zhao Jingping turned on the flashlight and said with palpitations: "I really let you guess correctly, the Soviet devils really turned their faces and didn't recognize people!" ”

"Does that need to be said?" The instructor continued: "How could the Soviet devils be willing to let such a large amount of equipment fall into our hands, then we can equip a regiment, and there are hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles!" ”

"I shouldn't have let them go!" Aduzai said sharply, as if blaming the Soviets for their ingratitude.

I couldn't help but smile, the battlefield this place ...... There has never been a place for such things as grace and righteousness. (To be continued......)
