Chapter XXXIII: The Scroll of Truth

Maca took a look inside and found that this small secret room had been taken up by bookshelves.

If you look down, you can see that there are also two metal slides on the smooth stone floor – bookshelves that can slide from side to side.

Because of this, there is only a gap for one person to pass through in the middle of these shelves, and the rest of the shelves are close together. If someone needs to rummage through other bookshelves, they can push the shelves to adjust the gap to where they want to.

"Why don't you give this a Traceless Stretching Charm?" Maca wondered.

It's hard to believe that this is Rowena Ravenclaw's secret room. But here, there is not the slightest hint of magic - not even the stretching charm is used to expand the space, but every inch of space here is used in a physical way, and the whole secret room seems rather cramped.

"Didn't I just say that! Within Hogwarts, space has been fortified! The bronze eaglet said loudly, "'Reinforcement', understand?" All space-related spells cannot be used, except those that were pre-programmed at Hogwarts prior to reinforcement. ”

"That is," Maka said, looking thoughtfully, "this is something that was only opened up later?" ”

The bronze eaglet blinked, flew to the top edge of the bookshelf and stood still, staring at Maca as she flipped through the books for a long time.

"There's a smell of that old guy from Salazar, who likes to talk to others when he's fine." It muttered softly.

After a while, seeing that Maca was already standing there reading a book, and was fascinated, he said, "Don't read those books yet, you will have time to read them later." ”

"Now, come to the desk first." The bronze eaglet soared into the air, flapping its wings and landing on a small scaffolding on the desk.

Hearing this, Maca reluctantly closed the book, but she didn't want to put it back in her hand at all.

"Sit down, sit down, no one has sat here for a long time." The eaglet stretched out its wings and said, "Open the middle drawer, there is a box in it, take it out." ”

There was nothing in the drawer except an old wooden box with bronze corners.

"What's in there?" Maca asked curiously, but didn't open it easily.

"Don't worry! It's just a piece of paper, and Rowena calls it the 'Scroll of Truth'. "But no one knows if it's called that or not." ”

Maca carefully opened the box, and found that there was only a scroll of paper tied with ribbons, and a delicate blue flannel underneath.

Just as he was about to pick it up to see what the secret was, the eaglet interrupted him.

"Now you have the right to make a choice," it says, "to open it, to read it as hard as you can, and then to help your school solve a problem left over from the past; Or, close the box, leave the trouble untouched, and let it wait for the next candidate to continue the choice. ”

Maca couldn't help but be stunned for a moment, he frowned and asked, "What's in it for me?" Or, what's the downside? ”

"If I choose the latter, will I still be able to read the books here?"

You can see that those books are very attractive to Maca. Just now, he had only cursophed through one of them, and he had seen how precious they were.

"Books, of course you can read. No matter which one you choose, or even if you don't make a choice, you can always come here. But the opportunity to choose is only once, and you have to understand that. Kitty replied in a calm tone.

Marca immediately flipped the lid back, but just as the wooden box was about to close again, he stopped what he was doing.

He remembered what Kitty Eagle had just said: Rowena called it the "Scroll of Truth."

This means that, for Rowena Ravenclaw, what is recorded in this scroll is what can be called "truth."

"I'm afraid, all the books here are not as important as this thin piece of paper in the box." He couldn't help but think so.

"What's the trouble at Hogwarts, can you tell me about it first?" Maca hesitated.

The eaglety shook its head quite humanely, and said, "I don't know, maybe the broken hat will!" Its owner has a fast mouth, and he may miss his mouth at any moment. ”

It paused, and said in a serious tone, "But I want to warn you that Rowena didn't tell me the answer to this question, are you sure you want to know?" ”

After hearing this, Maca's brow furrowed even tighter.

To be honest, no one with a bit of a brain would choose to pick it up, but Maca couldn't suppress her curiosity and desire to learn. He knew that since receiving his offer to Hogwarts, he had become so immersed in the search for magic that he could not extricate himself.

Maca was originally a person who liked to explore this kind of mysterious knowledge. For the "Scroll of Truth" at his fingertips, he really couldn't refuse, even if he already knew that there might be a big trouble waiting for him in the future.

Sure enough, after hesitating for a long time, he opened the lid again and put his hand inside......

The next morning, the sun was just showing its head, and the first rays of the morning sun were shining on Hogwarts Castle. Many of the students were still lingering in their sleep, but Maca had already woken up early.

Or rather, he hadn't slept much at all last night.

When he was sent back to the door of the Ravenclaw common room, the bronze eaglet that had fallen back on the knocker opened the door for him, and then he was stared at coldly by Helena for a long time.

He said a lot of good things before he took great pains to calm down the not-so-good-tempered ghost lady. After that, he talked to her with a lot of smiles on his face, and then dragged his tired body back to the Hufflepuff student dormitory.

"The next test will be when you have gained something from your study of the 'Scroll of Truth'." These are the last words of the bronze eaglet.

As he lay in bed and thought about how long he could sleep, he found that he couldn't sleep at all, and his mind was full of the strange words he had seen on the "Scroll of Truth".

Maca had read a lot of books about ancient magic scripts before, but she had never seen a text like that.

The strokes are circled and circled, a bit like flowery characters, but each word is clearly distinguished; At first glance, it seems to have been twisted out by children at will, but after careful comparison, it can be found that the rules are strict, and it is obviously a special kind of writing.

What's even more amazing to Maca is that each of these characters does indeed contain magic.

As he gazes, the characters diffuse fluctuations of magical power and convey a variety of very different messages to him. Although he didn't quite understand what that message was saying, that didn't stop him from being fascinated.

And most importantly, when Maca tries to pick up a quill, he finds that although he looks like it, it is just an ordinary character - he can't feel anything in it.

He lay in bed and thought about it for a long time, and until dawn he did not come up with anything of value.

The next few weeks passed peacefully.

After his last trip to the Ravenclaw Chamber of Secrets, his days were even busier. Although Hermione still came to discuss a few words with him about learning, the rest of the time was filled with all kinds of research.

"Shouldn't I apply for a time turner?"

One day, Maka sat at the reading table in the library, looking at the growing mountains of books in front of her, and couldn't help but think so. But in an instant, he was immediately denied by himself.

"I always feel that there will be more things to study, so forget it......"

Shaken off the curiosity about the time-turner in her mind, Maca stretched and reinvigorated herself, and was about to continue her research, but she didn't want a voice to come from behind her.

"Hagrid! What are you doing in the library? ”

Maca turned around, and immediately saw Hagrid's huge figure.

Hagrid stomped towards Harry and the others not far away, hiding something behind him. He wears a moleskin coat and looks very out of place.

Maca saw it at a glance, it was a book about dragons.

"Dragons?" Maca blinked a few times, her expression slightly dazed.

He watched as Hagrid lowered his voice and whispered to Harry before leaving. Immediately, after a few words between them, Hermione went to the place where Hagrid had just turned and came back with several books.

"Hagrid has always wanted a dragon, and he said that to me the first time I met him." Maca heard Harry say that.

"But it's against the law," Ron said, "and at the Wizards' Congress in 1709, a bill prohibiting dragon breeding was officially passed, and everyone knew it." If we have a dragon in our back garden, it's hard not to get Muggles to notice us. ”

Ron was talking when he suddenly paused again.

"And, it's hard to tame them, it's dangerous. You should really look at the burns on Charlie's body, which were left to him by the Romanian dragon. ”

"But are there no wild dragons in Britain?" Harry asked curiously.

"Of course there is," said Ron, "there are common Welsh green dragons and Hebledin black dragons. I can tell you that one of the Ministry's jobs is to conceal the existence of these dragons. Our wizards had to constantly chant spells to Muggles who saw the dragon, so that they forgot about it. ”

Hermione leaned forward as if to say something, but before she could speak, she turned her head again.

"Maka, do you want to come along?" She said, "Hagrid's cabin. ”

Maca thought about it and realized that it was time for her to take a break.

"Then go and take a look! Maybe Hagrid did get one, and I thought it would be nice to have a chance to see this powerful creature up close. He smiled and nodded.
