Chapter 34: How to Make the Baby Dragon Remember You
An hour later, they knocked on the door of the hunting ground guard's hut.
Hagrid first shouted, "Who?" After receiving a response, he let them into the hut, and then quickly turned back and closed the door.
As soon as they entered, they immediately found that all the curtains inside had been drawn tightly. Even though it was a warm sunny day, the fireplace was still blazing, and the cabin was suffocatingly hot.
As soon as Maca walked in, she glanced into the pile of charcoal burning under the fireplace. He had already guessed that Hagrid had made it so hot that he was clearly hatching dragon eggs. Sure enough, a large black egg lay on the red-hot charcoal, and an empty kettle hung on top of it.
Hagrid brought them tea and ferrets, but the trio was not on the table for food, and they politely declined. Instead, Maca thanked Hagrid, picked up a piece, and tasted it.
"Soβdo you have something to ask me?"
"Yes." Harry said that he didn't feel the need to beat around the bush, "We don't know if you can tell us what else is guarding the Philosopher's Stone besides Luffie?" β
Hagrid frowned at them.
"Of course I can't say." He said, "Number one, I don't know. Second, you already know so much that I wouldn't tell you even if I did. That stone makes a lot of sense here. It was almost stolen from Gringotts...... I guess you guys got that all right? I don't understand how you even know about Lou Wei. β
"Oh, Hagrid, you probably don't want to tell us, do you? Surely you know. What happens here, can escape your eyes? Hermione said in a sweet, flattering tone.
Hearing this somewhat frustrating tone, Maca couldn't help but think back to her sad experience of currying favor with Lady Gray. He couldn't help but look up at Hagrid, who was being held up, and then at Hermione, who was pretending to be well-behaved.
"Actually, we just want to know who designed those mechanisms." Hermione continued, "We want to know who else Dumbledore trusts to help him besides you. β
Hagrid puffed up his chest at the last sentence, and Harry and Ron smiled contentedly at Hermione.
"Well, it doesn't hurt to talk to you. Let me think...... He borrowed Lou Wei from me, and then asked a few other teachers to cast a spell. β
"Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, Professor McGonagallβ" he counted with his hands, "Professor Quirrell...... Of course, Dumbledore did magic himself. Wait a minute, I forgot about someone...... Oh, yes, it's Professor Snape. β
"Snape?" Harry was surprised.
Maca swallowed the last sandwich in her mouth, then patted the crumbs off her hands and said, "Obviously, there's nothing strange about this - except for Professor Quirrell, the other four are all deans, which is normal, isn't it?" β
"yesβare you still suspicious of him, huh? Lo and behold, Snape had helped protect the Philosopher's Stone, and he wouldn't steal it. β
Maca looked at Harry and Ron with disbelieving expressions. He knew that Harry's father Jaime had taught Snape too much of his lesson, which led directly to Harry being targeted by Snape.
"You're the only one who knows how to get through Loe, don't you, Hagrid?" Harry asked eagerly, "You're not going to tell anyone, are you?" Even the teacher doesn't tell, does he? β
Looks like Harry might have gotten some news.
"No one wants to know but me and Dumbledore." Hagrid said proudly.
Harry couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, and then he couldn't help but say to Hagrid, "Hagrid, can we open a window?" I'm hot to death. β
"No, Harry, I'm sorry." Hagrid replied, subconsciously glancing towards the fireplace.
Now, everyone has obviously seen it.
"Where did you get that, Hagrid?" Ron said, crouching down to the fire and looking at the big egg more closely, "It must have cost you a fortune!" β
"Won." "Last night, I was drinking in the village and playing cards with a stranger. Honestly, the man was probably desperate to get rid of it. β
"But what are you going to do when it hatches?" Hermione asked.
"Hagrid is obviously looking up the information, didn't you already know about it in the library just now?" Maca smiled and said, "Hagrid, when this little guy hatches, remember to tell me as soon as possible." β
"Oh, you love it too, don't you? Of course, I'll tell you. Hagrid smiled happily and continued, "I just checked, it's a Norwegian spinback dragon, it's very rare. β
He looked smug, but Hermione disagreed, "Hagrid, don't forget that you live in a wooden house. β
But Hagrid didn't listen at all, and he hummed a little song merrily as he stirred the fire.
"But I have to say, Hagrid, you'll have to hide it," Maca said in a sudden change of tone, seriously, "you should know that it's illegal to keep a dragon privately. β
He paused, and seeing that Hagrid didn't seem to care, he continued, "Baby dragons grow in size very quickly, and they instinctively learn to fly very early, have you already figured out where to hide it?" There's no hiding in this hut. I don't want to see you taken away with it, I want to watch it grow up! β
Hagrid couldn't help but feel a little frustrated, and to be honest, he knew he couldn't keep it all the time.
"Ron, I remember your brother Charlie working at the Dragon Sanctuary in Romania, right?" Maca asked, turning her head.
"Oh yes, I guess that's a good idea." Harry understood what Maca meant, "Hagrid, Ron's brother Charlie is studying dragons over there, there's a dragon farm there, he'll take care of it for you!" β
"Oh-no, I can't bear this little one." Hagrid wiped the corners of his eyes vigorously, "It hasn't even seen me yet." β
Harry and the others looked at each other, trying to continue to persuade Hagrid, but Maca waved her hand.
"Before we contact Charlie, I think you'll see it. After all, if you hatch the egg correctly, it will soon break out of its shell. Maca laughed, "You can keep it for a while, I mean, before it breaks through your hut." β
"yes, yes, I don't think that's a bad idea." Hagrid looked at the dragon eggs in the fireplace with tenderness in his eyes, as if he were looking at his child.
Not too long, one day at breakfast, Marfa the owl brought him a crumpled little note with only a few words written on it: It's almost out of the shell.
During the lunch break, Maca grabbed something to eat from the table, and then carried a large cloth bag and walked to Hagrid's hut.
"You're here, Maca." Hagrid looked excited, and blushed as he greeted, "You're a little late, and you've missed the scene where it bursts out of its shell." But it doesn't matter, the little guy is in good spirits now, much more lively than when he first broke out of his shell. β
Maca was pulled into the hut by Hagrid in a rage, and was greeted by a thick puff of black smoke with sparks.
"This little guy has a strong desire to attack! Looking at it this way, maybe it's a female dragon! Maca drew her wand and waved it, sweeping the black smoke away from her face.
"Oh, but I think it's male, and you see how handsome it is." Hagrid's eyes were like stars, and he could tell that he really liked these magical creatures with a sense of power.
Maca didn't care about Hagrid's opinion, because it was really difficult for a newborn dragon cub to determine its gender.
He nodded casually, looked at the little dragon standing next to the fireplace and crawling around with its wings supporting its body, and said thoughtfully: "The fire dragon is a creature that is difficult to domesticate, and it is also very intelligent in adulthood, and most importantly, it has a strong attack power. β
As he spoke, he took out a flask containing a fiery red viscous liquid from the cloth bag he had brought, and shook it in his hand. This bottle is not small, and to be honest, it is really heavy in the outer robe.
"What is this? Dragon's blood? Hagrid asked.
"No, it's not." Maca shook her head, "It's made from the blood of the Horn of Fire whale...... Well, a tempting snack β at least for Norway's spine. β
"Yuga Dim Leviosa (Note (1))."
Maca placed the bottle on the table, uncorked it and chanted a levitation charm, controlling a small cloud of faintly churning red liquid to stop steadily at the tip of the staff.
The little dragon immediately smelled the smell, and it stumbled over excitedly, grabbing Maca's leg and trying to jump up to the tempting mass of food.
But Maca pinned it to the ground.
He looked up at Hagrid and said, "If its mother were a real dragon, she would." Hagrid, look ahead. β
With that, Maca swallowed the viscous, hot, bloody liquid.
Suddenly, the little dragon chirped and struggled, but Maca pressed it firmly to the floor.
"It's very nutritious, but it's hard for humans," Maca's face turned a little blue, "and it's really hot!" β
Hagrid clearly understood what Maca meant, and he nodded earnestly, as if trying to memorize the steps.
When the little dragon slowly stopped struggling and looked at Maca longingly, he relaxed the hand that had been holding the little dragon hard.
"Taste it, little one." He made another small ball, controlling it to float towards the dragon's mouth.
"Hagrid, come every day until it remembers the order in which it eats." "If it can be remembered before it is taken by Charlie, it will remember you for the rest of its life." β
"Of course, that only makes it remember you. In fact, it is in the nature of the vast majority of breeds of dragons to live alone and not be too friendly to their mothers when they reach adulthood. β
These methods of dragon training were all seen in the Ravenclaw Chamber of Secrets. In addition to the ones he showed Hagrid, there were actually subsequent domestication methods, but those were not very humane, and he believed that Hagrid would not like them.
"It's amazing! If Noble remembered me for that, I'd be sure to thank you, Maca. Hagrid gave Maca a big hug, nearly choking him.
