Chapter 940: The Pilgrimage Path
Bell was glad to have been chosen to follow the Prophet deep into Acacia for the Final Revelation.
He considered himself lucky, and he was one of the twelve lucky ones who could only embark on this pilgrimage path to the most devout of the twelve.
The ultimate revelation is not easy to obtain, and the pilgrimage is fraught with all sorts of dangers.
First and foremost are the various void monsters lurking in Acacia.
As far as the eye can see, the land is devastated. Twisted tentacles were everywhere, breaking through the ground and digging deep pits in the earth.
Although these massive tentacles have turned into shriveled and dead branches, their fibrous surfaces are always reminiscent of wisps of cobwebs, as if any contact with flesh and blood will awaken to some kind of horror and devour ignorant food.
Don't think you'll be fine if you don't get close to the tentacles and the pits, Bell has seen with his own eyes that those huge monsters crawl out of these hernias. They let out a malicious roar, swiftly snatching all the flesh creatures that passed through them, and through the deep caverns there were creepy chewing sounds that made the hairs stand on end.
But as long as the Prophet is there, these foolish monsters won't hurt them.
The Prophet told each of them to bring as many sacrificial animals as possible, and to offer them the protection of the powerful forces through regular sacrifices, so that they could complete the pilgrimage.
But even so, the void creatures will not be satisfied, as they are rumored, they have an endless appetite, as if they can swallow the whole world.
Whenever the dissatisfied monsters set their greedy eyes on them, the Prophet would use the power given to him by the God of Destruction to drive the monsters away and protect their faithful followers.
This allows them to avoid any potential threats and to complete the pilgrimage in a hurry.
Bell knew that the Prophet was no longer a mere human being, but something more powerful. But he was still impressed by his power, because with just one sentence, Bell found the treasure of his life, his beloved wife.
Yes, the prophet used his power to divinate the love of Bell's life, and the camel rider married the shepherdess, and lived happily ever after.
His life of eating and knowing the marrow filled him with absolute respect and fanatical worship for the prophet, so much so that when he learned that the prophet was going to choose twelve disciples to accompany him in his search for the final revelation, he did not hesitate to join the prophet with his beloved camel and his wife's flock, even if his wife tried to dissuade him.
He longed to be like a prophet, and he had blocked everything for that. As long as he could receive the ultimate revelation to become like the prophet, he would be able to gain fame and fortune and give his wife a better life.
The second danger of the pilgrimage path came from the beast beside the Prophet.
Although it did not appear to be very intelligent and walked from side to side, the Prophet's indulgence shocked its followers, and they had seen its terrible appetite and terrifying way of eating more than once.
It is only the size of a calf, but it can easily eat several goats, which is completely several times the mass of its size. As if no amount of feasting could make it feel a little full. 2k
At least half of the animals they brought with them had been eaten by the beast, and now the sacrifices that had been sacrificed had been eaten by those who had been eaten, and all the animals they had brought had been consumed.
Now, with no food to eat, it was staring back at Bell from time to time. That unsettling curiosity kept Bell in nightmares all night, fearing that he would wake up one day and be a puddle of meaningless pus.
Had it not been for the prophet's ability to communicate with it and establish spiritual communion, Bell's fears might have been realized.
Exhausted by such days, Bell humbly asked when the prophet would reach his destination.
"Don't worry, it's no more than a day before we reach the Holy Land."
The prophet replied to him with neither joy nor sorrow, and the bitterness of life was coming to an end, which made them excited.
Just when they thought that the two dangers on the pilgrimage path had been overcome safely and that they could successfully obtain the final revelation, a third danger quietly appeared from the absurd land, blocking their path.
A huge black shadow suddenly appeared in the air, and it faintly glowed purple, and through the air it hit Bell's face, and immediately made his cheeks feel as if they were burning, and he began to retch, tears flowed profusely, and his stomach felt as if he had been stabbed with a knife.
He rubbed his eyes and wiped away the tears that he couldn't stop. When they looked up, they saw their prophet walking toward the shadow.
He could see it at last—it was a huge, one-eyed, desolate creature floating, crackling with purple lightning bolts swirling all over it, and a fire burning in the huge one-eye.
That huge one-eyed eye is both the essence and the core. Wrapped in a hard shell, it turns sneakily under the twitching of strong scarlet muscles, bringing an unparalleled sense of oppression. Embedded in the upturned carapace of the one-eyed were three smaller eyeballs, which emitted an eternal purple light, and made Bell remember the fear that had been passed down in his bones, as if it had existed since the primitive time of Rimma. The three huge tentacles twitched horribly, making a crackling sound of a long whip. The tentacles are dark purple in color, and the color becomes brighter the closer you move to the tip.
The monster's eyes and tentacles all glowed with purple arcs of electricity, and they scrambled to leap, scorching the air around them, and then scrambled to burrow into their carapaces and disappear.
The vertical pupil continuously emits a visible light, revealing the movement of the monster's gaze. Just now, Bell was only lightly swept by its gaze, and there was an extremely violent rejection reaction.
It is an eternal shadow hovering over Acacia, it is an indelible horror legend, and the moment he sees it for what it really is, Bell is robbed of his mind by fear, and he is no longer able to think calmly.
The idea of fleeing from the desert came to Bell's mind, but the Prophet calmly walked towards the one-eyed monster, and then made some kind of unspeakable contact with the monster.
In an instant, Bell understood the gap between himself and the prophet.
The prophet became a prophet precisely because he saw annihilation as a destination, bringing salvation to the weak flesh, so he was fearless.
Since there are people who have opened the way for them and cleared the way, it is enough for them to follow them faithfully. He waited silently, wishful thinking that the Prophet would take them to the Holy Land.
