Chapter 939: The Law of True Fragrance
Sindra finally unleashed her grievances, and she deliberately untied one of the goats and let it escape.
The goat ran away from the crowd and toward the darkness where the light of the eternal flame could not shine.
But just as it burst into the shadows, a dark tentacle suddenly stretched out from the violet-glowing wall, piercing the goat's body at lightning speed, halting it alive.
"Mountain ββββ Sheep ββββ!!!" Jeno held out his hand, but it was too late.
The goat died before it could scream, its tentacles wriggling into the depths of its body, greedily sucking on flesh. Its muscles rippled with creeps, its white fur turned yellow, and black veins emerged from it in stark contrast.
This is Syndra's discovery, without the protection of the Eternal Flame, flesh creatures would be consumed by the dark chrysalis in an instant. Kaisha, whose body is wrapped in the skin of the void, naturally does not have such concerns.
She wanted to tell Kai'Sa that no creature could leave Acacia alive without being changed.
Jeno approached with a torch in hand, and the temperature of the Eternal Flame unnerved the tentacles, and the blood-stained tentacles immediately retracted into the void of the rock wall. If it is allowed to continue sucking, the goat, which is only a skeleton, will soon be transformed into an ethereal monster with infinite power.
But even so, some changes will not stop once they have already taken place.
A sneaky figure, like an insect with spinous processes that split into arthropods, began to spread out from the goat's flesh. It hardens gradually, like lava cooling gradually. The demonic purple light began to pulsate inside the goat, what seemed to be the beating of a second heart, radiating purple light towards its flesh.
Jeno felt a wave of horror and disgust, and he realized that something was growing inside the goat. He didn't stop it, because he didn't know anything about it, and the corpse in front of him was a rare object to observe.
The goat's shell cracked open a bloody hole, and a pale thing crawled out limply, bringing out clumps of slime and dragging its segmented limbs.
Jeno frowned, and he realized that the substance that made up the newborn monster was exactly the same as the off-white tape in Corgas's body.
The chic little thing staggered to the front, clutching the ground with dagger-long claws. A sharp tail gradually unfolded behind it, and then it raised its head to stretch its newborn body, its pitch-black fangs and protruding back, shining a lilac light from its heart. Pieces of light, soft exoskeletons that were pale and lackluster enveloped the heart, and then began to harden, as if reacting with the air.
This is the Dark Condensation Armor, a means used by the Void creatures to protect their fragile newborn bodies.
Immediately after, the monster's eyes snapped open to observe the world that had just been born of itselfβthree pinhole-like eyes glowing with an eerie purple light.
It raised its head in the air, tore its throat and let out the first scream of a new life.
Because the process of transformation was interrupted, the resulting void creature seemed to have undergone some kind of mutation, and it was neither a powerful ethereal monster, nor a ubiquitous cannon fodder unit like the ethereal spirit.
Its body is sharp and sinky, and with the exception of its iconic purple eyes, the monster's malevolent form resembles a creepy vertebrae crawling on the ground.
The monster seemed to feel the disgusted gaze not far away, and it rushed towards Jeno, like a snake, like a centipede, like a cricket, with vicious intent, and many bladed limbs stabbed into the rock wall at a rapid pace. The three clusters of glowing eyes were on fire, and then it screamed, sounding like a scrape between steel, and its jaws snapping together.
Instinctive disgust caused Jeno to stumble on the otherworldly creature. Even through the thick soles of his boots, he could still feel the abruptness of the soles of his feet, as if he had stepped on a twisted ball of wire, a hardness that only the thickness of a shoelace could have.
The monster screamed, he gritted his teeth and increased his strength, and finally conquered and flattened the obstruction under his feet! The monster is trampled under Jeno's feet, and in turn twists its body around Jeno's instep. Not only that, but the monster spun and threw out its sharp feet, each as sharp as a steel needle, as slender as a dagger, and densely burrowed into Jeno's face.
"Ding, ding, ding!" Jeno raised his hand to block it, and there was a crisp sound of blows, and the needles fell, and he also threw off a ball of eternal flame.
"It's as tough as it looks." Watching the strange insects crackle in the flames, Jeno sighed, then stepped on the knife a few times, and kicked it away with the last kick to complete the whipping corpse.
After seeing it with his own eyes, he probably understood how the Void creatures were born, and the death of the goat finally provided some value.
"See, it's impossible for a goat to survive in Acacia." Sindra said to Kaisha, there will be no more people to stop her from eating roasted whole lamb, right?
Kai'Sa looked complicated and turned her head away from looking at the goat's twisted corpse. Maybe it could poke at the softness of Kaisha's heart when she was alive, but as her appearance changed greatly, it was no longer there.
"The rest of the one is roasted and eaten." Sindra looked at the only surviving goat and urged Jeno.
Although the goats were caught in the wild, they were previously bred in captivity, so they were not gamed. The sharp-beaked bird that Geno met in Ionia was game, but they didn't take it to the river to roast it, but only intimidated it into calling the emerald god out.
"Eating someone else's sacrifice always feels something isn't right." Jeno scratched his nose, feeling a little diaphragmatic.
"What's so embarrassing about sacrificing to the void, I want a leg of mutton thanks." Sindra urged again.
"Although I have a habit of carrying spices at all times, there is no firewood to roast sheep here?" Without charcoal, raw meat can only be eaten by a dark descendant like Verus.
"Don't you have it on hand?" Sindra had thought of everything.
"Eternal Flame? Are you sure this won't burn? β
"How do you know if you don't try? Hurry. Cindra was so hungry that she floated over and kicked Jeno lightly.
"Yes, yes, try it." Jeno finally touched the goat's fur and dragged it around the corner to kill it cleanly and bleed.
After a few hours, the smell of meat spreads through the chrysalis and the hungry crowd rushes up, and they are soon devoured.
Unwashed, unsalted, and full of blood and smell, it was the coarsest food Jeno had ever tasted, but Sindra was happy to eat it.
"Would you like some?" Sindra gave Kai'Sa some of her share of the leg of mutton, and she deliberately placed the meat next to Kai'Sa's mouth, where she could bite into it with one mouth, allowing the aroma to penetrate her nose.
"I ...... Never mind. "Kai'Sa don't overdo it, although it is tempting, but when she thinks of the tragic death of the goat, she is a little sad.
"If you don't eat it, you won't have it." Sindra said meaningfully. One sentence actually mixed her with threats, inducements and other meanings.
"Just eat a little ......" The sudden chill made Kaisha's lips tremble, and she reluctantly accepted the kindness.
Then, as soon as you take a bite, your mouth can't stop.
Looking at Kaisha, who was still speaking for the goat just now, can now eat the roast lamb without any psychological burden, Sindra's bad taste has been greatly satisfied. Since you can't escape the law of true fragrance, then others can't escape either.
