Xie Baozhen asked, "Since there is no difference between body, mouth and mind, why do you want to talk about cultivating the mind?" The Zen master said, "The heart is not damaged
Wounds, there is no need to repair them. When it comes to cultivation, it is just that no matter how clean people are, they will not have any thoughts. ”
Xie Baozhen asked again: "Dirt thoughts, you can wipe it." It's right not to say anything about it. Why can't you even get up with pure thoughts?"
The Zen master said, "This is like a human eye, there can be no dust." Gold is a precious thing, but gold shavings are not comfortable to fall into the eyes. Look at the clouds in the sky, dark clouds can cover the sky, and white clouds can also cover the sky!"
Xie Baozhen not only received the inspiration of Zen ideas from Wei Kuan, but also received the teachings of Zen Master Bird's Cave when he went out to play.

Zen Master Tori replied, "The fire of desire is burning, life is impermanent, the world is like a house of fire, how can you not be in danger when you fall into emotional understanding and cannot extricate yourself?"
Xie Baozhen thought for a while, changed the topic again, and asked Zen Master Birdy: "What is the general idea of Buddhism?"
The Zen master replied, "Do not do all evil, but do all good." ”
Xie Baozhen sneered and said, "Even a three-year-old child can say this." ”。
Zen Master Tori said, "Although a three-year-old child can speak, an eighty-year-old man may not be able to do it. ”
Xie Baozhen suddenly became enlightened and respected Zen Master Birdie even more. Since then, he has often gone to get close to Zen Master Toriya and learned deeper Zen principles from him.
Xie Baozhen's understanding and persuasion of Zen Buddhism has also become more and more profound through his correspondence with Zen monks, and as a poet, he often expresses his views on Buddhism in the form of poetry. For example, "Reading the Zen Sutra":
"You must know that all phases are not phases, and if there is no more than enough, there is more than enough. I forgot to say it for a while, and I said in my dream that my dream was double empty. How can empty flowers have to be fruitful, how can the sun flame find fish more. Perturbation is Zen Zen is movement, and non-Zen is not moving. It is not difficult to see the extent of his comprehension of Buddhism and Zen.

He wrote a very famous Buddhist poem: If you want to realize the color of emptiness for the Buddha, so you plant a fragrant tree in the monk's house. If you look closely, it is Huayan, which is convenient for the wind to bloom wisdom flowers. This poem literally says that the old master Bai in order to experience the greatness of Buddhism, so he planted a tree in the temple, when the tree grew up at least a few years or more than ten years, the old master only understood the wonder of Buddhism, in his eyes, this tree is like the Huayan Sutra in the temple pavilion, each leaf on the tree symbolizes the wisdom and beauty of the Huayan Sutra.
The old master also wrote a poem: The world is full of fragrant flowers in April, and the peach blossoms in the mountain temple are in full bloom. There is nowhere to find the spring of long-hate, and I don't know how to turn into this. When the old master visited Dali Temple in April, spring had passed, but the peach blossoms in the temple had just bloomed, this was not another door of life?
Another spring? Because I was demoted, I lamented that the spring was gone, and there was nowhere to be found, so it turned out that the spring had turned here. We may encounter difficulties of one kind or another in the world, but as long as we persevere and never give up, we will still not miss the flowering season.
If there are many scholars who regard being proficient in Buddhist scriptures and asking Zen machines as hobbies, enjoying themselves and enjoying them, then they regard Buddhism as their belief and pursuit, wandering in Buddhism and practicing in life. He has a poem "Love Poems": "There are thousands of satirical songs, and the heart and deeds take refuge in one vehicle." Sitting on the rope bed and thinking to yourself, you should have been a poet monk in your previous life. ”
He is not proud of the achievements of writing poems, but even expresses his firm pursuit of studying Buddhism and his infinite yearning for a monastic life.
Xie Baozhen likes to practice Buddhism, not the path of immortality.
He only wanted to comprehend the true meaning of the Dharma, and he did not want to practice the Vajra method of Buddhism.
In his first poem, he wrote: "At the inscription under the Pagoda of Mercy, the youngest of the seventeen", at the age of twenty-nine, he is still a "teenager", which can be said to be a proud spring breeze and hearty. Xie Baozhen actually comprehended the essence of Buddhism a long time ago.
There is another thing, which can also show that Xie Baozhen's realm of learning Buddhism is even to the extent that he can guide monks to practice.
It was when Xie Baozhen was traveling elsewhere that he saw an old monk reciting scriptures in a temple and asked, "How old are you?" and replied: "Eighty-five."
Question: "How many years have you recited?" and Answer: "Sixty years." Bai Juyi expressed his admiration and said, "Amazing! Amazing! Nevertheless, there should be a real purpose for the cultivation of monks, but what is your purpose?" The old monk was speechless for a while.

Jane wrote a poem criticizing this: "There is a road to the empty door, I don't know where to go, my head is white and my teeth are yellow, I still chant the scriptures, and I have been drinking and smelling wine for a long time, and I have not woken up until now." It means that Buddhism has a goal in its practice, and you are so old, although you have been chanting sutras for decades, you are still below the realm of the two vehicles, and you are not clear about the real purpose of Buddhism's practice, and you will not be able to use the method of cultivation, just like a person who has been drunk for decades, and he has not been sober until now! In the view of Buddhism, this criticism is very high, very level.
?“ Do not do all evil, do all good, and purify one's intentions, which is all Buddhism" This Buddhist proverb comes from the Buddhist scripture "Add One Ahama Sutra".
"Do not do all evil, but do all good" means not to do all the evil deeds in the world, but to actively strive to practice all the good deeds in the world. This may seem simple, but it is very difficult to do. A good thought is born every day, and a good deed is cultivated every day. If you think of good, you will be far from evil, and if you think of evil, hell will be at hand.
Xie Baozhen cares very much about good and evil, he makes friends, and those who are not good in character can't say two words.
In Buddhism, there are also Mahayana and Hinayana divisions.
Since each sect rises at any time, each sect must develop its own subtlety, and there must be a method of judgment and teaching. Now it is commonly said that the two sects of Kusha and Fulfillment are Hinayana Buddhism. The four divisions of the law were also Hinayana originally, and since the Nanshan lawyer Yizong is only knowledgeable, it has become a great and a small Theravada. The Dharma is the Mahayana teaching, and the three treatises are the Mahayana emptiness, and these two sects are the most controversial. Tiantai Huayan self-marked position, above the three theories of the Dharma and the two major Mahayanas.
Tiantai is called a multiplication of Yuanjiao, and Huayan is even more said to be a multiplication of other teachings; Zen Buddhism is the Don religion, the Pure Land is the Dharma, and the Shingon Buddhism is the secret religion; These three sects have different realms and are different from each other. This is still a rough outline, and then I will talk in detail about the interior of each sect itself. There is also a dispute between inside and outside the mountain; Nanshan also has a difference in positive qualifications; The three treatises on the law are all new and ancient. Five schools and seven schools, all of which are Zen Buddhism.
The motivation of the Mahayana is not for oneself, but for all sentient beings without oneself, and for sentient beings as oneself. If one kills oneself to become benevolent and sacrifices one's life for righteousness, one's own life does not belong to oneself but to all people, and one's heart is for the public, so one can become a bodhisattva. There is a big difference between this, there is no certain range in Mahayana, and the bodhisattva's heart is immeasurable and boundless, so all sentient beings in the clouds have boundless vows. If you want to save the country, you should know the history of our country and the living conditions of the people, and then you can save the country. If you want to purify all sentient beings in the Dharma realm, you must first understand its reasoning, and then you can purify sentient beings. If you see all kinds of troubles of sentient beings, you will know all kinds of methods.
If you want to save immeasurable sentient beings, you must learn immeasurable methods. First from the initial mind bodhisattva status, gradually cultivate to the status of a Buddha, only then can all sentient beings become Buddhas, and then can really have the wisdom and ability to purify all sentient beings, otherwise there is a mind but not enough strength. Therefore, Mahayana is to start from the intention of universalizing sentient beings, to thoroughly understand everything about the immeasurable world and boundless sentient beings, and to get rid of their troubles; only by cultivating to perfection can one become a Buddha, and only when one becomes a Buddha can one have the function of purifying sentient beings.
Mahayana is the Dharma practiced by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and Hinayana is the Dharma practiced and the fruit of the Buddha's practice. Shravaka is a person who hears the Four Noble Truths of the Buddha and realizes the fruit of an arhat; Enlightenment is a person who hears the Buddha's 12 causes and conditions and attains enlightenment and attains the fruit of the Buddha; and if he is born in a world without Buddhas, he is called Enlightenment. place
Also known as the two-square. These two vehicles are Hinayana vehicles. Hinayana is a kind of self-consciousness that penetrates the troubles and confusions of the Three Realms of Fire and Karma, and only seeks to be enlightened and free from birth and death.
The gray body is full of wisdom and will never come again, and it has no intention of helping sentient beings, so it is called self-defeating. Although it is not born or died, it is more than nirvana, because there is still dust and ignorance outside the boundary, and there are two kinds of confusion. Because the Buddha did not have a big heart, he was called Hinayana . As for the Mahayana of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, in addition to self-realization, we must also realize him.
I feel that he is to save all sentient beings and ascend to the other shore together. Therefore, all the bodhisattvas, after attaining the Buddha's teachings on lifelessness and forbearance, must take the wish to return to the sampa and use all kinds of magical powers to save sentient beings. When you realize him and realize that your actions are complete, then the dust and sand are ignorant and confused, and you are pure, and then you will become a Buddha and become nirvana. If you are willing to start your heart, not only can you not cultivate the small fruits of human beings, but you must also practice the dual power fruits, you must practice the bodhisattva path and practice the absolute Mahayana to purify all sentient beings, so that you can become a Buddha.
However, although the Arhat is Hinayana and has gone beyond the flow of life and death because he has cut off the gross troubles in the Three Realms, he has reached the status of a saint compared with the ordinary people of the Three Realms. It is important to know that the Lotus Sutra states that the three vehicles are one vehicle, and as long as the arhats can return to the great heart, they are the bodhisattva causes, that is, the Buddha causes. Moreover, Mahayana and Hinayana are only discussed in the heart. For example, when it comes to walking together, developing great bodhichitta is Mahayana.
The mind that comes from self-interest is Hinayana and non-Hinayana and Mahayana have their own things to do. That is, in terms of one thing, it has been different from the big and small. However, the Mahayana path is great, and there are Hinayana people who are unbearable, but my generation comes from the great bodhicitta of benefit and altruism, practices the world's goodness, and remembers the Buddha wholeheartedly, that is, the Mahayana that is absolutely unequaled. This is absolutely unequaled Mahayana, and everyone can practice it, but it is not like the Mahayana that only relies on self-reliance in the rest of the scriptures, although it proves that the saints of the Arhat Fruit are still too much to bear.
Therefore, the Pure Land Method, the three roots of the universal quilt, the blunt and all the blunt, up to the self-enlightened bodhisattva, down to the evil ordinary people, there is no one who can get out of it, and there is no one who cannot enter it. Fortunately, my Buddha said that this is the most round, the simplest, the easiest to cultivate, and the easiest to achieve the supreme Dafa, if you don't practice it, wouldn't it be the extreme foolishness of the Buddha who bears his own soul?
At this moment, Xie Baozhen is already like a Dharma master, talking about Buddhism to all friends.
One of the women smiled and said, "Brother Baozhen, you tell us this, but we don't understand." Let's talk about something we like to hear, for example, a few days ago, I heard that your uncle Lu Jincheng was injured? He is a martial artist of the Nine Realms, how could he be injured. ”

The person who said just now that there would be nothing to do in the Xie Mansion had a blue and white face.
A voice came from outside: "Xie Fuyuan, you abandoned your wife and children, killed your friends, and didn't come out to die soon." My name is Xie Baoshu, I came today to take your life, if there is anything dissatisfied, you can just say it, see if the knife in my hand agrees. ”
