vs 39 Wally's Story
The thirty-ninth day into the eternal world.
Wilson was stunned, and Wegford-
Wally began to tell what had happened during Wilson's absence. It's a long memory:
"It's getting colder and colder since you're gone, and Woody and Wolfgang have come back from outside on the coldest days, and oddly enough, they both brought back almost nothing. Moreover, Woody became unusually irritable, he lost his temper with Wolfgang, he talked back to Wick Barton, and he scolded the little spider, we don't understand what happened, he just used to sit alone on the pile of wood in a daze, and kept saying 'full moon' - until the day before the monster came, Woody said that he was going to go out, he sorted out his backpack, and didn't want anyone to follow him. Ms. Wickbottom, of course, was adamantly opposed, and the two quarreled over it, and in the end, Wolfgang and Wiegford stopped him. β
"Monsters?"
Wally ignored Wilson's interjection and continued: "Woody is like a different person, you know, he's not like that. But at the end of the day, Woody couldn't get out of base, and he said to us, 'You're going to regret it.' 'yes, I'm thinking now that he must have known what he was going to become, maybe he left for everyone's good. β
Wilson was confused.
"And then there was the coldest night of winter." Wally's heart fluttered as he spoke, "The one-eyed monster has come to our base. At first, before it appeared, there was a demonic roar around the tent, and we all woke up, and Willow screamed in fright, and the little spider and Vis hugged each other, and the roar was one after another, and if you heard it, you would be scared. Then the one-eyed monster came, what was it calledβthe one-eyed deer, yes, Wickbarton commanded us to flee with torches, but the warriorwoman jumped out, and she charged at the monster the size of a hill. Lady Vickerbarton was terrified, I had never seen her panic like this, and she called for Vigford to come back, but you know - Vigford was in charge of calling himself Valkyrie, how could the Valkyrie retreat? Wolfgang and Woody went up to help her, but none of them had any weapons at their disposal, except for Wigford. However, maybe Wigford is really a Valkyrie, she actually launched an attack on the monster, the monster will freeze people, and destroy our buildings, Wolfgang and Woody can't get close to the battle between the two, to be honest, I have confidence that Wigford can win. β
Hearing this, Wilson already understood what was going to happen next.
"But if she's really a Valkyrie, it's clear that Odin hasn't blessed her." Wally said anyway, "Vigford's helmet shattered under the monster's attack, it must have been some kind of protection, she lost that protection, and under the second attack of the Deerclops - she died." You must be in the same mood as us, but at that time, everyone didn't have time to be sad, and the movement of the giant deer was like an earthquake, and it was going to destroy everyone. Woody throws his axe at the monster, attracting the monster's attention, and we are able to leave. Wally eased slightly: "After dawn, Woody was still entangled with the giant deer, and the monster didn't seem to get tired, chasing Woody, trying to shoot him to pieces." At that time, we were immersed in grief, and Wolfgang picked up Wigford's spear, and he went to help Woody, who had to avenge the female warrior. However, the one-eyed monsters were not so easy to defeat, and they pestered all day until night, when the full moon came. β
"What's wrong?" Wilson asked eagerly.
"Woody changed a little bit, and in the moonlight, he, and he became a deer."
"How is this possible!"
Wally propped his chin in thought, "No one can believe it, but it's true." Woody turned into an elk. The elk and the deerclops collided with each other, and Wolfgang came closer, stunned as he watched as the two deer fought fiercely across the clearing, this time our base was completely destroyed. Eventually, however, Woody's transformed elk triumphed over the deerclops, and the monster wailed and collapsed. I thought this was the end, but Woody ran into Wolfgang again, and Wolfgang yelled, 'It's me, brother!' But apparently, Woody, who had turned into an elk, lost his mind, and he ran into it at random, almost hitting me and Ves. In the end, Woody the Elk took advantage of the moonlight to run west, and Wolfgang was badly wounded, but he still chased Woody away from the group, despite the pain. They never came back. β
"Didn't Woody and Wolfgang come back?" Wilson was very sad, "It's not Woody's fault, can't he get it back?" β
"Nobody knows." Wally shook his head. "After that, it was with grief that we reorganized the base and repaired the necessary buildings. Vigford died without leaving a body, and Ms. Vigkbarton was very sad and we comforted her, but she didn't say a word, just kept flipping through her books. The night before the end of winter, Lady Wickbottom solemnly told us all that she was going out for the resurrection of the Valkyries. Of course, I had a hard time believing that a person could be reborn after death, but no one dared to stop her, and she told me one by one what I should do when she was away. Willow offered to go with her, and Lady Wickbottomon agreed, so they said goodbye to me as soon as it was dawn. β
"What about the little spider? Why isn't he there? β
"No, Webb didn't leave the base, he just went out looking for food." Wally replied.
I see, Wilson finally understood what was happening. He looked back at the little fishman and Vis who were having fun, Wally was just a cook, the little spider was still a child, the base that everyone had worked so hard to build was destroyed, and his friends were in tatters. Now there is no grandmother, no Woody, no Wolfgang, and no - Vigferd, who has been protected and cared for by them for too long, it is time to shoulder the burden and take responsibility.
