I have always felt that I am still a literary youth, and one day I had no intention of reading the newspaper, and suddenly I found that I had been called "the writer of the previous generation", and I was very unhappy. I thought that my generation had not yet begun, but in the eyes of others, how could it have become "history"?

Later, I slowly realized that there was nothing unfair about this. Since the turn of the century, the pace of social development has suddenly accelerated, and the hot spots and focal points of the audience's attention are changing with each passing day and changing rapidly. Those who are over forty years old and still write long-form are at the end of their strength; Those who are over 50 years old still refuse to leave the table are even more bored, because their minds are rigid, their brains are slow, their possession of information and the renewal of their consciousness can no longer be completed quickly, and their physiological metabolism is no longer compatible with the speed of change in the external world. In the past, a writer's life experience could sit at the forefront of the tide for ten years, but in the era of globalization and information technology, it is not easy to be coquettish for three or five days. It is no accident that the phenomenon of the young age of long-form writers in recent years, as well as the reality that writers who have been brilliant for a time have fallen silent in the blink of an eye.

So, I also started to take care of the aftermath, looking back on the past and sorting out the old work. My greatest wish is to be able to put my rough words and popular stories in exquisite binding and classic appearance into a set for myself and my friends to collect, as a kind of self-appreciation and a kind of vanity on the desk.

The Writer's Publishing House has always been my base, so I asked two senior editors that I have always trusted to make this set of "Classic Illustrated Books of Haiyan Novels". It is said that the psychology of the elderly will always be more innocent, and I recently suddenly fell into writing cartoon stories, which may be a kind of clinical symptom of a person's aging. Therefore, this set of summary collections is published in the form of an "illustrated book", which is not only exactly what I want, but also a helpless tribute to this visual era.

In Buddhism, there are four bodhisattvas, representing the four ideal personalities of compassion, wisdom, action, and aspiration.

The one who represents the power of the wish is the Bodhisattva of the King of Jizo;

On behalf of practice, it is the Bodhisattva of Puxian;

The one who represents wisdom is Manjushri;

The one who represents compassion is the Guanyin Bodhisattva, who is most familiar to the Chinese people.

What is compassion?

According to the original meaning of the Buddhist scriptures: compassion means "to be happy". Sorrow is "pulling out suffering".

Removing the suffering of sentient beings and giving them happiness is compassion.

Guanyin Bodhisattva went to China and was portrayed as a woman in appearance.

This probably reflects the Chinese understanding of "compassion":

Dignified, serene, clean and beautiful Guanyin Bodhisattva sits on the blooming lotus,

It seems to symbolize all maternity

The sublime, the great, the gentle, the soft, the kind, the merciful, and the love that pervades everything.
